Are you sure? I recall that Paul and Barnabas (never called an apostle of Christ) split over Barny's cousin Mark; which seems to me not an interpretation of the Word but an evaluation of Mark (I think Paul was wrong on this one.)

Someone want to post a logical reason why women cannot preach?

I see no reason why not. If we are simply denying women the right to preach based not upon logic but upon obedience, then there is a problem within that.(be it within the bible or within our society).

With respect I question the use of texts here. while I am not against women teaching in settings such as this. the text does not simply mean husband and wife. or what shall we say then:
1Ti 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Shall only husbands pray every where?
1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
Shall only married women have good works instead of costly array?
I agree the word can mean wife, thus one must make their point with regard to context.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
This scripture is not a new concept its an Old Testament teaching.
Exo_19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
Israel was to be a kingdom of priests.

What about those who change their sex? Now that the Medicare ban on sex reassignment surgery has been lifted, no doubt many women who have read all the posts on this thread will opt for the surgery so they can preach.

We see people such as Phoebe and Lydia in the New Testament who were remarkable women of faith who helped others in the church in very important ways.
Just to mention: I don't know of any reference in the Bible to suggest that the Holy Spirit is female. God created male and female indeed, but I don't see any feminine pronoun in Scripture in reference to the Holy Spirit.
I'd say something or quote some scripture but then someone not female might learn something.

Yeah, women are 2nd class citizens in the Kingdom. They can't be used of God. They don't have the brains or righteousness to be able to impart Biblical knowledge to MEN!!! Holy Spirit is SUCH a sexist!!!

Good idea. Angela53510 pointed out way back on page 3 of this thread that the word for “authority” in 1 Timothy 2:12 is a hapax legomenon. To make a long story short, in my opinion, the best translation of 1 Timothy 2:12 would be something like: “I do not permit a woman to teach in a domineering way over men.” You know, no lording (or should that be Lording?) it over men.
