You might think all days are alike, but scripture says they aren't.

Gen 2:3 God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, for on it He rested from His work of creation.

When God makes something holy, God it is setting it apart from other days to be dedicated just to Him.
Maybe here's a way to put it... I will honor the Sabbath by doing good on it. Blessings all!

Time to put this tablet to bed. Thanks everyone for a great discussion. Grace and peace to you all!

No, you honor your own ideas of the Sabbath by doing good in it. God created the Sabbath, to honor it would be to listen to what scripture tells us about the way He created it, and what God wants us to do about it.

I think you are saying yes, OK to tow car on Sabbath... because it is physical thing... what is general thinking among Sabbath keepers?

Exodus 35:3 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] "You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath day."

Better walk to Sabbath Church, because you have to kindle a fire in your car's engine just to start it.

How cold does it get in the house before sundown on Saturday, in January?

Maybe, just maybe GOD really meant EXACTLY what He said:

Exodus 31:12-17 (ASV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily ye shall keep my sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Jehovah who sanctifieth you.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Jehovah: whosoever doeth any work on the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
[SUP]17[/SUP]It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

ANNUAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURES IN ISRAEL

WEATHER IN ISRAEL

SUMMER (June-early Sept)
Israel temperatures are usually in the high 80's (27C), 90's (32C). Tel Aviv, and Tiberias will be hot and humid (like New York or Miami). Jerusalem is dryer and cooler, particularly at night. Massada & Eilat are extremely hot (possibly above 110F (43C), but dry. Not a drop of rain.

SPRING (late Mar-May) and
AUTUMN (late Sept-Nov)

Daytime Israel temperatures are very pleasant; around 60-70F (15-25C) degrees in most of the country (still hot, though, around the Red Sea and Dead Sea). Jerusalem will be in the 40-50F (5-10C) in the evening. There will be some rain - nothing torrential.

WINTER (Dec-early Mar)
Israels winter weather fluctuates. Some winters are mild and sunny, while some are severe and overcast. There's often heavy rain. In January and February it may even snow in parts of the country. Temperatures range in the 50-60F (10-15C) in most places, but in the 40's (5C) in Jerusalem and the Galilee hills - where it can be very cold at night.

Everything that Christ told us came from the Father.....by following Jesus we are following the Father...Jesus said I and my Father are ONE!

I'm into open mind :-) ... sounds like individual chooses, also listens to others for advice...
You may read Exodus 20 or what Jesus said and see which one is optional. Advice from anyone else is as valuable as how much you pay for. Well, except tithing I suppose...

He didn't encourage his followers to kill adulterers either... the law of moses requires judgement, so a change here or there... blessings! :-)
The hard fact is, his followers and even the high priest, the Pharisees and the scribes did not have the authority to judge like they used to in "OT" anymore. All of them were under the rule of the Roman Empire - the reason they needed Pilate to condemn and the Roman soldiers to execute the Innocent One.

Do what? The standard of the law can not be kept by anyone. If what yuo claim is true, NO ONE will be saved, is saved, or has any hope of being saved.
Well, He said it's not that difficult. Who is lying?

We need to is in context with the conversation.

do we need to follow the law of moses to learn how to be mature believers and christlike, or do we need to follow the law of love.

You make up your mind, As for me, I will follow the law of Love. The law of moses can ONLY condemn me.
It's that what you think? So are you able to follow the law of love 100%? You don't have to answer that. I can get your response from the other post. :)

That's another good example why I asked Dan_473 to ask the non-keepers because they are the expert of the "how to's". :)

he told us what to do.

1. Love the lord you God with all your heart
2. Love your neighbor as yourself
3. do not worry about loving yourself. Worry about loving others.

That's exactly the problem with pulling His word out of context - or forgetting He said "love the lord your God with all your heart" and "love your neighbor as yourself" through Moses.

Amen, people are so confused as to who to follow or what to follow that is why they think the TV preacher has the truth. Infomercials have the truth and everybody on TV has the truth what they do not have is the love of the truth. This is what w have to follow the truth the bible in the Gospel of Christ.

2nd Thess 2:9] Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
[10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
[11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
[12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Amen Jesus is nowhere around to be followed we have his word

John 6:[52] The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
[53] Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
[54] Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
[55] For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
[56] He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
[57] As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
[58] This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
[59] These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
[60] Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
[61] When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
[62] What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
[63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Amen, we have to get in the bible and follow after the truth. Peter got the vision that the words that Jesus spoke was the truth onto eternal life and not the synagogue or the funny Pharisee teaching.

John 6:68] Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Jesus told us in John 8 that is we continue in his word we shall know the truth and the truth shall make us free and not his person as people have that composite of some bearded man and that is not even Jesus it is a picture of some man with a beard.

John 8:[31] Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

[32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Amen, w have to follow after the Son after his word who will lead us to his Father and Jesus is the Son of God and not God himself. Jesus Christ is Lord = Boss

John 14:1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
[4] And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
[5] Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Amen Jesus told us "if" conditional always, always following after Jesus is conditional, doing what the bible says.

John 14:[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Amen, we are told what came out of God's mouth was words and that is how Jesus was made and the earth and the moon and stars etc by God speaking words.

Genesis 1:[24] And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
[25] And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
[27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
[28] And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
[29] And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
[30] And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
[31] And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Jesus from day one was with the Father this is clear and God spoke words in Mary's belly

Luke 1:
[38] And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Amen and John the Baptist bore witness of what came out of God's mouth was Words capital W not capital G

John 1:[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
[15] John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[16] And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
[17] For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
[18] No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
[19] And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
[20] And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
[21] And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
[22] Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
[23] He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
[24] And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
[25] And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
[26] John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
[27] He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
[28] These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
[29] The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
[30] This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[31] And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
[32] And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
[33] And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
[34] And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Amen, Jesus said that the word will sanctify a man or a woman

John 17:17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

We have to follow after the word and Paul was an example of how to follow Jesus. Paul was not a follower of sin of the devil and unrighteousness and darkness. Paul was a born again cleaned up person who repented from his sin like I did 18 years ago. Unlike TV and radio and local church and internet preachers who can't stop sinning and following after the devil and not after Christ.

1st Cor 11:[1] Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

1st Cor 4:16] Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

1st Timothy 1:[11] According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

[12] And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
[13] Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

[14] And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
[15] This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

1st John 3:[4] Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
[5] And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
[6] Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
[7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
[8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Paul was a follower after words the words of Christ

Acts 22:7] And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
[8] And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
[9] And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
[10] And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.
[11] And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.

Amen we have to be follower of words instead of TV preacher or radio and churches etc.

2nd Peter 2:1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
[2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
[3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
[4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
[5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
[6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

Paul found a TV preacher or church preacher who deceived and perverted the gospel and he never called him brother nor followed after him.

Acts 13:6] And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:
[7] Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
[8] But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
[9] Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
[10] And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
[11] And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
[12] Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Amen, we have to start reading our bibles and learn the truth and that is who to follow not winds of doctrines or doctrines of devils and seducing spirits.

Ephesians 5:[6] Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
[7] Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
[8] For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
[9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
[10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Ask yourself this if we claim to be Christians

Galatians 2:[17] But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

Does Christ lead you to do the devil's dirty work = sin?

Follow after the word after the truth

Joshua 24:[15] And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

[16] And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;
[17] For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
[18] And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.
[19] And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
[20] If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
[21] And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.

[22] And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
[23] Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.
[24] And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

he told us what to do.

1. Love the lord you God with all your heart
2. Love your neighbor as yourself
3. do not worry about loving yourself. Worry about loving others.

do this, Not just on the sabbath but every day, This is true worship we can offer to God. and the only worship which glorifies him.
True worship that glorifies God is to listen to what God says humbly and follow Him. The most important, says scripture, is to love God with all our heart, soul and mind, and others as ourselves.

As far as the Sabbath, to follow Him is to do our work on six days and rest from our work on the seventh, for that has been declared holy. When we listen, that is what scripture says.

You may read Exodus 20 or what Jesus said and see which one is optional. Advice from anyone else is as valuable as how much you pay for. Well, except tithing I suppose...

Jesus reiterated in one form or another, 9 of the Ten Commandments. Guess which one He never reiterated? You got it, the only Commandment that GOD specifically said was a sign of the Covenant between HIM and Israel.

Did Jesus then contradict HIMSELF by giving us Heb. 10:25 instead of "KEEP the SABBATH HOLY"? NO, because there is a little known law that states that whenever there is a CHANGE in the Priesthood from one Tribe to another, there is by necessity a Change in the Law.

I don't make statements that I cannot back up with scripture:

Hebrews 7:12-14 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.

Jesus is NOT Levite High Priest, HE is OUR HIGH PRIEST from the Tribe of Judah.

I think the bottom line is that we need to follow scripture. God is eternal, God principles never change, and as Christ told us, He did not change anything.

When we read in the letters how there was "change", we need to read that in spirit and truth. We have a high priest. There was a high priest that Moses told us of, and the functions of a high priest never changed. If we read about a high priest in the time of Moses, and we read of our high priest today, they are both the high priest with many of the same functions. Christ is our high priest. That is the only change.

When you read of the functions of the Sabbath at creation, and you read of the functions of the Sabbath when Christ plucked grain and healed on the Sabbath, it is all the same from our eternal God. Christ made it clear.

The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, using the Hebrew people to explain God. They were an emotional people who had no words for their emotions, but when they felt something they thought of the acts that emotion would bring about. Loving the Lord brought actions of love for the Lord. When a new kind of thinking entered, it had to be explained to us that an emotion needed action to be authentic, that faith without works is dead. That direction would never be needed before the Greeks influenced thinking, for action and feeling was ingrained in their way of thinking.

So we say that the actions spoken of in the Old Testament are without meaning. And when Jews advanced to become Greek thinkers, some of them DID use actions alone.

These things happening in the world did not change God. God's thoughts are above our thoughts. We need to put on Christ (who is one with the Father) through the Holy Spirit we have been given, and rise above these worldly, fleshly interpretations of God principles.

That is the only change.

. . .

THAT is not what the Bible says, sorry:

Hebrews 7:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.

Back in that day kindling a fire was a dirty job, and God wants us clean before Him. So maybe an our-day analogy would be don't sweep the chimney before church. Jesus didn't put an end to the law, just how it is paid for. God still wants us clean before Him, we just do that now thru Christ and not a slain cow.

Well, He said it's not that difficult. Who is lying?

So why does scripture say he is the only one capable of doing it? And the only one who ever did it?

The law brings a curse on all who do not obey every iota of the law/. Have you done this? Why are you not under a curse and everyone else is? what makes you so special?

It's that what you think? So are you able to follow the law of love 100%? You don't have to answer that. I can get your response from the other post. :)

well of course not. Non of us can. Anytime we inject "self" into the equation, no matter what we do" we are not only not following this law. but we are carnal and in sin.

Why do you think Paul called himself a wretched man (present tense).

Sanctification is an ongoing process until we are glorified. Or do you not understand this aspect of Christian maturity?
