Is the European Union Parliament the resurrection of Babylon?
from the design of the parliament building based on the Tower of Babel to the mother and child imagery, the words of the Anthem and even the statue of the whore riding the beast in the grounds outside.....how many more signs do we need.....Oh yeah, the corrupt laws and denial of Christ's sovereignty........BABYLON.

Short answer..no

Long answer...23 years of study, 20 hours straight to present truth in context from 14 chapters of the bible out of 7 or 8 books and a 10.5 billion to one of which nation represents the daughter of Babylon and her chief city, Babylon A.D. and where the kings of the earth meet!

I.E> the HINDERMOST of THE NATIONS

Rev 11v8, 14v8 (KJV), (or Rev 17v4,5), 17v18:

Babylon, "the city, the great one" (two definite articles in the orignal Greek), which is also called a harlot, Sodom and Egypt is:

"Jerusalem"

For it is the place "where also our Lord was crucified."

QED!

It is true the EU has lots of curious imagery and symbolism, I do not perceive them as the Whore of Babylon or any of that sort. While the EU does hold much power indeed, there are a lot of significant problems with the EU too, and these problems have only increased in this decade. Though more nations have subscribed to the EU, keep in mind the actual power of the EU has dimished quite a bit due to the financial crises and also politically/diplomatically with the standoff in Ukraine.

I think therefore that the EU runs a greater risk of totally collapsing within the century rather than rising to be the most powerful Empire.

EDIT: Plus looking at European History and modern politics, the European Union is only loosely united. The countries in the EU still retain their own sovereignty ultimately, and I doubt very much that all of the various cultural conflicts between European nations will disappear anytime soon.

Dutch politician Thierry Baudet (Forum for democracy) speaks out against the existence of European Union from the political point of view.

Any thoughts of such is speculation at best IMO. But, hey, that can be fun too.

Bumping this topic since a saw an interesting discussion between @Coll2-8 and @2ndTimeIsTheCharm about EU.
The video in post 8 is pretty good but i can also add my experience about EU.
Personally i am not sure where EU is heading currently but as we've seen with elections in Italy, the societies will tolerate so much for a few decades before they start to push back.
It's only natural. When you back someone into a corner, he will push back.

Since you've been in those areas of the world you also have some field experience with the mindsets over there.
Even though this is more about the EU, Putin and Russia will obviously have their influence there.
But to summarize the video:

The idea of the EU after the Berlin wall was to counter USA economically.
Then it morphed into a system where a selected few bureaucrats wants to shape the continent based on their insane ideas.

What do you think about this?

I’m a Texan and can’t say publicly what I think of an idea where you put nations together by the dozens and then be branding it a union.

Revelation 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

King dollar and Washington DC.

The Land of Shinar was the land of two great rivers, the Tigress and Euphrates. The US is also the land of two great rivers: the Mississippi and the Missouri.

Some of the descriptions could refer to Britain, but not all, some could refer to the Vatican, but not all, some could refer to Jerusalem, but not all. Only the US fits every single description we are given.

Since I was specifically addressed here, I will say something about it. ;)

However, I will not speculate here about the significance of current systems and events in relation to biblical end-time prophecies. I can perhaps provide some insight for non-Europeans about what is going on here and how I perceive things.

First things first: Europe is not the same as the European Union (EU)!

Even though the MSM very often use Europe as a synonym for the EU. The EU is not Europe! Nor is the EU a country, but only a confederation of currently 27 (out of 47) “independent” countries. However, the EU is increasingly behaving as if it were a state. The member states are heavily under pressure to EU regulations and control. Although there are regular EU elections for the EU Parliament, but voter turnout is usually rather low. The EU Parliament also has relatively little power. More important is the EU Commission, which is not directly elected but acts as both the executive and legislative! There are also some oddities. For example, Cyprus is a member of the EU, but it is located in Asia and not in Europe! The Faroe Islands belong to Denmark (EU), but are not in the EU. Christian roots are largely rejected or trampled on by the EU! Accordingly, it comes across as cold and abstract. It is also increasingly acting in a very totalitarian manner and enacting corresponding laws. The DSA (Digital Services Act) is effectively a censorship law against “wrong” opinions. They are currently working on a “media freedom law” which is effectively intended to strengthen the MSM and combat alternative media. The EU is doing strong pressure on non-EU countries and often blackmails them. For the MSM in all countries, the EU is a sacred cow that is never criticized.

European countries differ enormously in their history, culture, and language. Politics is also organized very differently in each country. But one trend seems to be very similar across all countries. Genuine conservative or right-wing parties are growing stronger, prompting all other parties to unite and join forces against them. In most countries, there are also pseudo-conservative parties that promise to combat migration or lower taxes before the elections, and then join forces with the left after the elections and do the opposite. Typical examples of this are the CDU in Germany or the Torys in the UK. The only country with a long-standing stable conservative government is Hungary, but has to deal with its EU-Membership.

My country (Switzerland) is a special case because we have a semi-direct democracy. In theory, the people can force a referendum on any new law that is passed. This has already prevented some bad things from happening (such as joining the EU). However, collecting the necessary signatures is very time-consuming and expensive, and a lot of new laws are constantly being passed. Our political system is also different. The government always consists of seven people from the four largest parties and is elected by parliament (not the people!). We have a large number of parties in our parliament. By far the largest is the SVP, a right-wing conservative party, which, however, only has just under 30% of the vote. All the other major parties are opposed to it.

I hope this hasn't become too long. If you have any further questions, I'll try to answer them.

Honestly what you've posted is so fascinating - thank you so much!

You had written:

What are the views of the EU on religion?

The EU seems to tolerate Islam and even appears to let it abuse its citizens. For example, in Sweden, I've read that there are cases of rape committed by Muslim immigrants on Swedish women, but they are not being investigated well. There are other offenses committed too all over EU countries by Islamic immigrants. To what purpose do you think? It bewilders me!

In terms of Christian roots being largely rejected or trampled by the EU, what are some examples of this? How are European Christians feeling about this? How are they dealing with it? It reminds me that I should pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ over there for their strengthening and endurance...

Also, if you know, what are the views of individual European countries in regard to religion? I ask this because oftentimes, the religion of a nation will affect its overall behavior (as do other factors of course, but I just want to concentrate on religion for now). For example, one can see this effect stand out during WWII with how each nation dealt with the war.

All European countries have a strong religious past. Mostly a “Christian” one, in various forms. As a result, their constitutions all begin with a preamble that clearly refers to God (meaning the God of the Bible). When new ministers, members of parliament, or governments are sworn in, phrases or “oaths” such as “...so help me God” are usually used. Only politicians on the far left reject these “oaths”. The EU, on the other hand, has nothing of the sort! It deliberately refrains from doing so. It presents itself as religiously neutral, although your observation is correct that Islam is given much more attention than Christianity. One example that comes to mind is that a few years ago, the EU published an official wall calendar that omitted all Christian holidays (including Christmas!) but included all Islamic ones! This led to reactions in church circles. The EU authorities' response was that it had been a mistake and that they had simply “forgotten” it...

Yes, Sweden has a big migrant problem with gangs and violent riots. This is particularly unusual for this country, as Sweden is actually very sparsely populated.

However, it is probably most pronounced in Germany. Knife attacks on individuals are commonplace. Attacks on events such as Christmas markets are also common. In the summer, assaults occur practically every day in public swimming pools, even on minors. The mainstream media always try to downplay this or keep it quiet altogether. The clear aim is to condition the population to accept this as normal. When confronted with this, mainstream politicians react with feigned concern, only to do nothing about it. The only political party in Germany, the AfD, is fighting back with all its might, but it is being attacked fiercely by all the other parties and the MSM and branded as a “Nazi party” (which is absurd!). But you're right, the whole thing is also very difficult for me to understand and why over 70% still vote for the old party cartel.

The characteristics and traditions relating to Christianity vary enormously between European countries and sometimes even within the countries. Roughly speaking, it can be divided into Protestant (based of Luther, Zwingli or Calvin Reformers), Catholic, or Lutheran movements. The southern countries are mostly very strongly Catholic. The western and northern countries tend to be Protestant, and the eastern countries Lutheran. The “official” churches are often closely intertwined with the state. The gospel is usually only preached in a watered-down form or not at all. (With a few exceptions.) Here again, Germany sets the worst example. The official Protestant Church, i.e., the direct descendants of Martin Luther's Reformation (!), are completely off track. Recently, the annual Kirchentag (Church Congress) took place again. Secular political organizations such as “Grandmothers Against the Right” and the gender movement gave presentations there, while pro-life activists were not allowed to attend! o_O

The spread of evangelical churches that still preach the gospel and lead visitors to repentance and to following Jesus also varies greatly. They are more common in Western countries than in Southern or Eastern countries. In Italy, for example, less than 1% of Christians are evangelical!

Thank you for your prayers!

Well as german I agree almost with your post. What I not agree is with your view about the AFD. In the one hand this party has a good view about family and all this gender and woke stuff. But thats all. In all other themes it is, in my view not to vote for someone who follows Jesus. The CDU/CSU is in my view more acceptable in her values then all the other bigger Partys.
But yes, no party is following Christ. And yes, the values everywhere going down.
And in spite of the time we are. It will become more worse in future. But this we can see worldwide. Islam influence is growing in europe. In GB they had this weekend a big Demonstration about this matter.
Thank you for your post!

I don't see it that way at all! For example, the AfD is much more conservative when it comes to the abortion debate. Without the AfD, the constitutional court candidate who denies human dignity to babies before birth would certainly not have been exposed. I consider the CDU to be a pseudo-conservative party. They constantly use conservative slogans to win votes, only to do the opposite together with the left after elections. There are certainly some conservative Catholics in the party. But the party as a whole ultimately only serves the Agenda 2030. It was also a driving force behind the inhumane measures during the "plandemic" and even behind compulsory vaccination! Sure, the AfD isn't perfect, but considering the messed-up situations in all areas, I think it's the only viable choice.

And with regard to the rise of Islam that you mentioned and criticized. Here, too, the CDU is doing nothing about it. On the contrary. There are accelerated citizenship by naturalization in Berlin under CDU leadership. The influx of Afghans also continues. Or what do you think the CDU is doing about it?

If you still can't bring yourself to vote AfD, there are also truly Christian small parties like the PBC... In my opinion, the CDU/CSU is a no-go!
