MAN'S WASTED POTENTIAL

God has made it plain that hell is a real place-a final abode for people who do not want to love God and serve Him! The sadness and the tragedy of this fact is that these are human beings, all dear to God because He created them in His own image. Of nothing else in the Creation is it said that it was created in the likeness of God! Because fallen and perishing man is still nearer to God's likeness than any other creature on earth, God offers him conversion regeneration and forgiveness.

Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

It was surely because of this great potential in the human personality that the eternal Word could become flesh and dwell among us. We are assured in many ways in the Scriptures that God the Creator does not waste human personality but it is surely one of the stark tragedies of life that human personality can waste itself!

A man by his own sin may waste himself, which is to waste and lose that which on earth is most like God. The man who dies out of Christ is said to be lost, and hardly a word in our language expresses his condition with greater accuracy!

An interesting find I learned that Soren Kierkegaard conveyed is that even our capability to worry is part of the image of God, yet of course we shouldn't use this capacity in a detrimental way, but rely on God with our planning.

How true this is. He made everyone with their own personality and so on. It is when we find him, we find our purpose for life.
Then he will take us out of our comfort zone and push us forward. We have to seek him, follow him, change, give into his calling.

It's worse than that. Confined to a pew till you die. Mouth taped shut. Spiritual gifts and functions lying dormant, for this is how we do 'church'. Wake me up when you get there folks.

I'm going to have to disagree with Mr. Kierkegaard.
I don't believe worry is part of God's nature or image.
Worry is a result of the Fall just as fear, blame-shifting, not trusting (God), hiding our sin etc., are also.

GRACE DESTROYS MAN'S POTENTIAL & WASTES IT

ROM 1-3 indicates how man has all this potential for evil. There is none who does good, no not one. Men are capable of being more & more corrupt, even more wicked than he is.

But on occasion, someone trusts Christ as Savior and gets a new nature -- old things pass away, behold all becomes new.

At that point just think of all the potential of man that the Lord wastes by saving that man.
For example, man could have built that Tower of Babel even higher.

LOL, yeah, I should have read the OP a little closer...no comment on all that 'potential stuff'.
