Coffee or eating somethign. Seriously. I used to just wake right up outta bed as a kid. Then as I got older...I found it harder and harder to get up. Now every morning, before I have coffee or eat something...I look like I'm about to kill someone. If someone tries to strike up conversation with me...may God have mercy on their souls.

Just recently when I was on one of my trips, my foot hurt, and (pre-coffee) I explained that morning why my foot was hurting. Then, one of the students in my group asked, "So wait, why is your foot hurting?" I mean, he was right there when I said why. SO I kind of grumped towards him and said, "Did you not listen??" and everyone was SHOCKED. Like...what just happened?? This isn't the lil_christian we typically see! Well, in the mornings, anything can happen. lol

So yeah...coffee. And the grace of God. And food. Those are the things that wake me up in the mornings. XD

i used to work out in the morning when i worked long days. i don't do that anymore because i'm not really a morning person and prefer working out later in the day.

my morning routine:

wake up to alarm
make a giant mug of tea, turn on music
climb back into bed, and read my bible or write for a little bit. ponder my day.
get back out of bed and make a protein shake. drink from my bed and finish said routine.

i love that part of my day now.

What helps me wake up in the morning? That would be my cat!! She wakes me up in the morning, in the middle of the night, sometimes she does'nt let me sleep at all!! :( LOL. :) Cute avatar, btw.. is that your kitty? He/she looks rather...persnickety!! HAH HAH!! :p
Nope fraid not. It's an internet kitty with a scowl on it's face. My little Sadie is gone :/

A little bird lands on my open window sill and chirps a beautiful melody to wake me up each morning.

But trust me, you "Do Not" want to know what I do to the bird when I want to snooze for 10 more minutes!!!


(Now where did I put my Thor "Nerf" Hammer???).

Once I'm up, I'm fine. It's the initial stop-sleeping-and-get-out-of-bed phase that I'm terrible at. The kind of terrible that sets an alarm half an hour before I have to get up and snoozes it every 5 minutes until I absolutely have to get out of bed. Once I am out of bed and getting ready for the morning I'm fairly awake. Coffee does nothing for me (and actually caffeine does weird things to me so it wouldn't work anyway), but I typically eat an apple, which helps.

I also think that the short drive to work helps invigorate me, along with some music cranked.

i've worked close to home and far away too - i decided i like a 30-60 minute drive better than a short 10 minute one in the morning. it helps me to have time to get focused in the morning and also to wind down after work.

First thing in the morning before anything else and the last thing at night at night 4 that matter before anything is prayer and 2 meditate on Gods Word=Bible especially 4 the Christian.It will wake u up 2 the challenging day ahead, amen.its what I always do and it works.My wife taught me this.try it u just might like it.

I don't drink coffee so my shower in the morning is usually what actually wakes me up. Anything before my shower may or may not be considered human activity.

If I have been having a hard time getting out of bed, I can rely on my neighbor's motorcycle. He (or she) usually leaves at promptly 7:00 a.m.. If I have dozed off, the sound will usually get me out of bed, showered, and coffee'd up. Sometimes, the neighbor leaves at 7:13, which really causes me to run rush and throws a wrench in my mojo. I need to talk to my neighbor about being consistently punctual.
