I am going to make a bold assumption, and then discuss this issue based on that assumption. In most of these OSAS churches you can have pizza and a beer with the pastor.
Pizza is a grevious sin. None who eat of it shall enter the kingdom. In most of these OSAS churches you can have pizza and a beer with the pastor.
He did promise it to all who trust/believe in Him.
The thing is the trust/belief in Him has to last tell you either die in the flesh or transformed at the rapture ( if you believe )which ever comes first. If you lose that trust/belief in Him, you no longer are in a saved state.
When ever the apostles is referring to some one as a brother or sister in Christ, or calling them brethren. They are saying they are in the same saved state as they are, but then they go and warn that if they go back to a sinful nature it will lead them to death, not life.
Again just because you say something does not make it true...you grabbed at the promise but you did not take time to get the instructions....For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:22
King James Version
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
see you almost Got it.
The GIFT of God is eternal life.
Your taking Gods gift, and placing conditions on it When John and Jesus and everyone else says all you have to do is trust the gift, then recieve it.
The only instructions there are is how to USE IT once you get it to make your life on earth better. Not how to keep it.;
Your teaching LAW, not grace.
define trust
It's not falling away. It's never being saved.
Calling oneself a Christian doesn't mean they have faith in Christ and His sacrifice for their salvation.
sucked into OSAS huh?I thank you for your input, I do try to lead them to the cross. I've been doing this for about ten years and I would say that that about 40% are baptist that were sucked into OSAS.
wouldn't you rather hear how a christian developed a drug problem. Just take a trip down to the local rehab and you will be amazed. This OSAS has people screwed up.
In most of these OSAS churches you can have pizza and a beer with the pastor.
you did not see through Jesus Christ and you did not see become servants to God,having fruits unto holiness and the end everlasting life?
That is right, we do occasionally sin and more often than that. The problem is that you are telling people that no matter what they do they are saved. Even cheating on their wife or having abortions or living a gay life style and Sea Bass you know that's wrong.
So you will say that they were never saved to begin with. Then you deny the word of God. Whosoever shall beive in their heart and confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.
There are many people that love God but are bound by sin. Including alcohol, and mostly alcohol because most churches see nothing wrong with it. Trust me I work with these people and they are embarrassed to have to come to some one like me for help.
WE point them to the cross and after a while they begin to see, that it is not them, but what Christ did on the cross. Dude these are saved Christians that have lost there salvation and are wanting it back, but they are bound by the sin nature and many give up.
BUT that is what you were/are insinuating. Nope, the sustained walk does not keep him saved, his faith in Jesus Christ keeps him saved. I hope you remember to ask forgiveness for every sin that you commit if your salvation rest upon that. My salvation rest in what Christ did for me and my being born of the Spirit - knowing that nothing can take that birth away from me because it is incorruptible seed.
The answer is the cross. Placing faith in the work of our Lord Jesus Christ and not our own. That is the most difficult thing for a Christian to do. WE want to earn our keep, but it is impossible and if we keep trying to do so it's just one failure after another and we are deceived into giving up.
