Such little faith, you actually think that that Gods power of salvation in Jesus is weaker than our flesh. Jesus said the flesh is weak to the disciples before they were empowered by the promised Holy Spirit. but look what happens when the Spirit comes.
Rom 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Rom 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Flesh Dead, spirit life.
mortal body/flesh dead. dead things don't do things.
Remember Paul said the flesh held His mind Captive to the law of sin?
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
well Romans 8 brings in the Spirit which mortifies the flesh. then which is stronger?
Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
when the Spirit comes it strengthens the inner man, you know the one that was captive in Romans 7, the one who could not do good. but by the Spirit it is strengthened and empowered by Gods Power in Christ.
notice the promise concerning this:
Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Eph 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
O ye of little faith, when will you believe that God's power in Christ and him crucified is much stronger than your flesh nature. Yes temptation will always be there but by the Spirit you will not ever give in.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Heb_2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Luk 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
When will you learn that Jesus will empower you. when will you understand that God is able to do more than you can ask or imagine?
