That is your assumption. I do believe in eternal salvation that you get after you have went through and endured the personal trials and tribulations.

For by grace you have been saved (Eph 2). Salvation is a past reality for every Christian who trusted Christ as Savior (not as "chance-giver").

I am against OSAS as it is taught in most churches. That one can go on after being in a saved state and continue in willful sin and still be in that saved state.

Kenneth, how do you know how Eternal Security is taught in most churches. How many churches have you attended out of 1000's that teach eternal security? Kindly refrain from making up things & in fact talking yourself out of salvation.

And Kenneth, the rest of your post is not worth responding to, since it is all Kenneth & no Bible. So it drops with a thud.

This is why I am against the OSAS philosophy, because its teaching in a lot of churches is dangerous to ones salvation.

How can trusting the Lord do save His people from their sins be dangerous? What is dangerous is to be a professed Christian like I used to be in a dead denomination, thinking that Mat 25 is the plan of salvation (though the word never occurs there), thinking salvation is by works. What is dangerous is to write off the Savior who offers you salvation as a free gift and try to do it your way so you can come off righteous. What is dangerous is to deny that He is the Savior, reduce him to a chance-giver, and claim that you yourself are your own Savior.

Scriptures make it very evident that .

If it is so evident, why don't you prove it quoting scripture? Quote even one verse that says "lose salvation." Quote us a verse that says that the Lord sends His children to the Lake of Fire instead of chastising them in this life to keep them saved.

Do you mind if I recommend to you reading the whole Bible and marking all the salvation passages? I think pink is the color to use, as the blood of Christ ran red.

As an aside, it just came to my mind the gospel illustration. The color of sin in the Bible is red rather than black. Though your sins be as scarlet, etc. If you take a white piece of paper and mark it with a red marker SIN, then you put on red glasses (like the old 3D glasses that had red & blue lenses -- but not using blue), and you look at the white piece of paper, the word SIN in red will disappear (the shade of red on the marker has to be the same shade as the glasses to get the best effect.)

Just so the blood of the Lord Jesus cleanses from sin. If our sins are seen through the blood of Jesus, they disappear.

Our sins are blotted out by the Blood of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
They are gone. Disappeared.
Not to be weighed against us.
Instead, we will be judged as righteous as Christ was righteous. He is our covering.

You should take Atwood's advice, and highlight all the passages about salvation in the NT, and contemplate them in context.
Then go through the OT and compare what you have learned about NT salvation with how the sacrificial atonement worked in the OT.
You will gain more clarity by this comparison.

You make up a straw man. Show me any Bible verse whatsoever where it is said that a man who believed in the Lord Jesus as Savior later stopped believing in Him as Savior.

Beware of insisting on translation words more severely than necessary. No scripture is of private interpretation; it all goes together. Since scripture is abundantly clear that the saved do not perish, but have everlasting life; interpret everything else in harmony with that.

All persons will have their works judged; believers may get chastisement in this life, and lose reward at the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ. But they won't be cast into the Lake of Fire after the Great White Throne Judgment at which they never appeared anyway.

And don't tell me that the Lord is going to throw a widow into the Lake of Fire for having taken a vow of celibacy, then deciding she wants to get married. Breaking a vow indeed receives a negative judgment; but not a condemnation to the Lake of Fire if the person is a child of God. In fact such a woman took a vow contrary to God's will at the getgo, since if she has a sexual itch & lacks the gift of celibacy, she stands under the commandment to have her own husband (1 Cor 7:1-2)

The whole thing was so outrageous that Paul forbad the practice of putting young women widows on the church roll.

So there you have it: a widow who was saved and escaped the condemnation to the Lake of Fire, she vowed a vow of celibacy & broke it to get married. The vow-breaking gets a negative judgment, for which "condemnation" is too strong a translation; but this is not losing salvation (an oxymoron).

I see folks misunderstanding the words of Christ so often.
They just don't see the before/after of Christ's sacrifice.

Christ made it clear that no sinner enters heaven, yet every man is a sinner.
Christ clearly taught that no man could get to heaven, because all choose hell by following their fleshly desires.
Christ showed the world how sinful each of us are, and our depravity, by being the example of what we were meant to be... perfect.

Christ showed was was needed to enter the kingdom,
and showed that He alone would enter, as things stood.

BUT
Christ died for our sin, and rose from the dead!
We enter the kingdom only by being IN the Body of Christ.

We are stow-always on the only ship allowed into heavens harbor.

There are "requirements" attached to being saved and reaching eternal life. Other than that I agree with you. I will give you a simple analogy: You joined a home association as a member, and in order to maintain your membership, you are required to pay your dues on time, trim your lawn, and maintain certain restraints on your property. Your refusal to obey the guidelines or requirements could force management to close your account and seize your property. Taking membership and ignoring the requirements will just end your membership quickly. Is that simple enough for you?

None of us are making it I guess.

God doesn't want any of us in heaven. We are all sinners.
Salvation isn't a second chance.
It is putting on the righteousness of Christ. We are not counted as ourselves, but counted as Christ, because we are one with Christ.

There will only be one man in heaven: Jesus Christ. Hide in Him, or you'll never get in.
