Ummm... we don't agree with Anselm at all. Also, we believe that grace and presence come through the sacraments. Jesus truly is the bread and wine, that is not simply grace. Like it or not, Orthodox and Catholic are similar. The differences between us are nothing more than mysteries vs sacraments and patriarch vs pope. I can say that because many Orthodox churches have returned to the Catholic church. Why do you think Catholicism has an Eastern Rite. Right next to my parish is a Ukrainian church that recognizes Rome.

Those 'orthodox' who went with Rome were lied to by many Jesuits who said the pope is Orthodox now and so many even to this day in the Ukranine and Poland say they are 'orthodox under Rome'

I am a Traditional Orthodox Catholic Christian of the Western Rite. Rome has departed from the Faith thus Protestantism and ecumenism and modernism have arisen in the West

And no our patriarchs (if there were any) are not in any power of 'universal authority like your pope who confesses ecumenism and modernism.

The Pope confesses ecumenism among Christians. We wish the Schism to end and for the Reformation to be completed and the Protest to end.

Modernism is actually something the Catholic Church rejects. We wish for the Church to be readily available in this "modern" age. Huge difference.

Yeah that must be why they pray with muslims and jews and even go into synagogues to pray. The Apostles taught not to pray with heretics or schismatics. Roman CAtholics and the false world 'orthodox' and monophysites pray concelebrate and communion each other.

We True Orthodox pray for the end of all error; however, we want that unity to happen when the heretics accept the Truth. the Roman 'popes' even Pius IX wanted the Orthodox Patriarchs to enter into communion with him. Your 'popes' are only concerned with earthly 'unity'. And pre-V2 Rome did oppose Modenism, JPII read books and works by modernist authors. This is why you have splinter groups like SSPX and sedevacantists. Modern Rome is no way like as it was before V2.

One is in the East and One is in the West! and yet doctrinally they are sisters!

Shall we say that doctrinally they are in the same cistern?

Since I have been reading the vociferations of some Eastern Dudes, I wonder if the RCC subscribes to what looks to me like an extreme position on common grace. I read this Eastern guy claiming that everyone was saved; but that didn't mean they got eternal life! For crying outloud. Also he seemed to be trying to make the incarnation of Christ the act of salvation, instead of the cross.

Both groups seem to have exalted human tradition above God's word. A favorite RCC apologist strategy seems to be to claim that the only authority for accepting the Bible as God's word is because the RCC says so. Of course they may not realize that by doing that, they eliminate any force to trying to support the RCC with the Bible (Mat 16, etc.). For if it be claimed that the Bible is true because the RCC says so, then it is circular reasoning to say that the RCC is true because the Bible says so! And they have no proof that the RCC is true or infallible. Neither is such self-evident.

Notwithstanding, anyone, regardless of denomination, who trusts the real Lord Jesus as only & sufficient SAvior (not mere chance-giver) is in the Body of Christ Church, and my brother in the Lord.

At least with the RCC, they have much basic doctrine correct: the Trinity, Christ is both God & Man. Apparently both East & West are infected with idolatry & Mary-worship, as well as writing off Christ, demoting him from Savior to "chance-giver."

There was only the Catholic church. The original papal city was Constantinople. It was moved to Rome, but some Catholics didn't accept that as the See. There were two popes during this period, one in Constantinople and one in Rome. The East separated and became the Orthodox church. The Orthodox is similar to Catholic doctrine, but uses more icons and images in worship, along with chanting. The Catholics and other denominations follow the Julian calendar, the Orthodox follows the Gregorian calendar, which they claim to be the correct one. Their Christmas and Easters fall about a month later than everyone else's does. They worship different saints every day and have fast days. This is a modified fast when they only eat vegetables. Orthodox churches have a mandatory forty-day fast right before Easter.

Yes but the Western Church is NOT the ROMAN 'CATHOLIC' 'CHURCH" it is the Western Orthodox Church under MEtropolitan John of New York.

and this in a nutshell is the only -real- difference between the roman papacy and the eastern patriarchates...it is a ambition driven schism over who gets to be in charge...every 'difference' in innovation that has emerged since then is just an attempt at finding a legitimate doctrinal reason for a schism caused entirely by diotrephesian pride...

No our bishops are not 'heads' of the Church. Only Christ is the Head (the cornerstone), even though a Patriarch (if there were any today) is elected by the synod of bishops and head of the synod, he is still subject to the synod, which is subjected to the Canons which were set fourth by the Apostles (apostolic Canons, Apostolic Constitution ect) The 'pope' thinks he is the absolute source of authority on earth. (Just like Democratic prots like to say that the 'people' are the source of authority.

There is a huge difference.
