So, my sister has been dating this guy for a few years. He's been an alcoholic. Her as well. He got sick about a year ago and the outlook wasn't good. They decided to get married, even though he was dying. She called my dad yesterday and said he was barely hanging on, just to get married. They got married Monday. She just called to say he finally passed away. She knew he could go at any time, but still, it's rough when it finally happens.
She was saved about 10 years ago and married a Christian man. He fell away and it ruined her walk as well. So she knows the truth, but has been living in this religious mentality that she can live how she wants and talk about God. I'm not close with her, in fact i tend to avoid her. But ask that you guys pray for her as she lives in TX and has no family or support out there. She was homeless for a while out there, though not currently. Not sure what she will do now. She's ruined a lot of family relations due to her selfishness and alcoholism. I think most of the family is tired of her past behaviors and using people and trashing people who helped her in the past.
I'm not sure what she needs, other than some comfort right now. Pray as you feel lead based off of this post, otherwise. Thanks.
Sorry to hear this, praying for her...

Awesome things that happened today:

-Spent the entire afternoon at my mom's house, getting to visit more with my aunt
-My kids got to splash around in a kiddie pool and escape the heat of this apartment
-I had, and took, the chance to interrupt somebody who was in the middle of insulting me, by saying "haters gonna hate"...which caused enough laughter to sidetrack everyone from the topic of What Cristen SHOULD Be Doing With Her Life
-I slapped a bee and knocked it senseless
-Freshly picked cherries were consumed

It's been a good day.

Edit: Praying for a whole slew of y'all, that God will comfort and guide you.

I will catch up on CC threads later, just wanted to pop in and let you all know that I made it safely to my destination. It's been an emotionally and physically exhausting weekend but... I am here and doing well.

I need to be somewhere different. Maybe I need to be someone different, too.

Kids go back to school August 21. Their time off is flying by. I enjoy our time together and although they drive me a little crazy at times, I will miss having them with me all day.

I'm feeling really sad today, not sure why. I'm a very easy going person, happy most days, sometimes I think people don't understand that I can feel down too. In the past I've had people act surprised if I say, not feeling so happy today. I know it's good that I'm usually happy, but I guess I don't understand why some feel that optimistic people can't feel sadness. I'm human, something kind of lame happened and I was hoping the person I shared something with last night would've shown more expression or emotion. I know that's not how they are and I guess it's not fair for me to expect them to be that way.

Sometimes though it's sort of like a statue, I would expect a smile or a little show of, that's touching. Nothing, kind of like a blank slate. I don't get it. This person's dad was the same way, they aren't cold harted, just expressionless about most things. I'm not so it's hard for me to understand why.

So my dog Mocha might have had a stroke. They saw some new things today while they were examining him, and they were like, "Wait a minute...maybe this isn't a herniated disc or a spinal tumor..." and they're going to get a neuro consult and confirm that yes, he did have a stroke.

If he did, the next thing to do is get physical therapy for him.

I am sorry to hear about that. Do you know how strokes effect dogs? Same as people?

I'm not quite sure, though I'll be reading into it soon. I think it might do something similar.

At least they stopped the talk about euthanasia. Then again that was only if he had a spinal tumor. I'm pretty sure they're very much convinced it's not that anymore.

Mocha will need physical therapy if it is a stroke, and I dunno if they'll be doing it there, at a different location near our home, or what. I guess I'll see soon. I'm just glad my baby will probably be okay.
