Isn't this pretty clear that a woman shouldn't be a preacher? What do you think the context is?

1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

No because that is not speaking of preaching the word, for we are all called to be disciples and in turn to share ( preach ) the word to others.

This scripture is speaking of the fact that the man is to be the head of house hold and if any questions are to be asked to the preacher during service rather it be for more understanding or to question the preachers motives then she is to tell her husband who is in turn to make the inquiry.

If women are not allowed to preach ( be preachers ) then the fact that women apostles were appointed in Acts that carried out the good work of preaching the gospel would be contradictory. We know they are not though, so again it comes to knowing context and taking all scripture into account.

Plus remember when Jesus sent out the Apostles to preach the good word around to different areas, in Luke 10 it says He appointed 70 more Apostles. Now this may cause some contention but it does not say that the 70 others were all men.

Then you have Romans 16:7 that mentions Junias who was a female apostle.

I want to check out the women apostles, which verses in Acts? How do you know Junias was a woman?

All it takes is a back ground study on the history and you will find out that Junias was a woman, and as for female apostles all you have to do is look into the scriptures and understand the contexts. Remember the Apostles were called disciples as well, and we must understand what the difference is.

A disciple is a follower of Jesus, which is all who follow, to be an Apostle means you are charged to spread the word ( preach ).

In Acts 1:14 when they all gathered it was men and women, plus it talks about them as the women of high standing. Meaning they held top positions in the church 13:50, 17:4, 17:12.

Plus there are other notable texts that were left out, like the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, Pistis Sophia, and the Gospel of Thomas because it called Mary an apostle in those books as well as others.

When the bible was written, it was during a male chauvinist period where men to do not believe women should have the same rights as men. Look at how women are still treated by the Jews who do not believe in Jesus.

Peter asked Jesus in the Gospel of Mary to not let women be included, but Jesus tells Peter yes they should be and are charged to carry the same gospel message as they were. They left those three texts out of the cannon we now have as the bible because they still did not want people to see women can be preachers/apostles as well.

The bible doesn't tell us if Junias is male or female, and you can find a history book to support any answer you like. Scripture does not violate scripture so I can guarantee you Junias was a man. I read all the verses you posted in Acts, and none of them mention the women were apostles or preachers.

You said "When the bible was written, it was during a male chauvinist period where men to do not believe women should have the same rights as men. Look at how women are still treated by the Jews who do not believe in Jesus."
Do you think God didn't mean for 1 Corinthians 14:34 to be in the bible? Remember, the bible is written by God, not the men who wrote the words down on paper.

I don't understand, you working so hard to make it seem like it is ok for women to preach... why? Why not just believe the bible.

Wrong the scriptures were written by men who were inspired by God through the Holy Spirit.

Like all things though man interferes with Gods agenda which is why we have multiple different bibles now, and even the fact the KJV which I love because it has been proven to be closest to the original texts still has mistranslation errors as well.

Junias was a woman not a man. The Catholic church has tried their hardest to keep women apostles out of the texts, which is why it words them as just women, disciples, and women of high devotion. Like I said though there are the other books that were left out because they mentioned plain and simple women apostles including Mary Magdalene as one.
( Junia is a female Jewish name, it was changed to Junias (making it male ) in the Latin translation. )

In the letters to the Corinthians, and in Romans Paul refers to the women leaders of the church there, and even though it does not call them out right apostles as you would like. The Apostles were the respected leaders in their areas, so if you put two and two together you get the picture.

I know it is hard for believers to understand, or don't want to understand but man has had a hand in the bible which is why we are given the command to test all things even the scriptures because since the formation of the church by our Lord Jesus Christ man has interfered and corrupted the word.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

We see here that all scripture is given by the inspiration of God, but the council that decided the cannon left books out because they did not like what they said ( the three I mentioned that did say women where Apostles to ).
Once again that scripture in 1 Corinthians 14:34 was not intended toward women not being allowed to preach. It is about the man being the head of the household. Notice how it says they should stay submissive, this is like I said if they have any questions they are to not interrupt the service and wait tell its done to address the issue. First to bring it up to their husband, and then together bring it to the pastor.

That's what happens when you don't believe in the innerant word of God... you change it to fit your beliefs. You have no ABSOLUTE STANDARD.

Let me ask you, what is the difference between the two verses below? In plain easy to understand English God said men don't lie with men. Just like in plain English God said women keep quiet in the churches. I assure you someone out there is doing exactly the same thing your doing with homosexuality... trying to justify it when the bible plainly says it's not permitted. And guess what, give it a little more time and the "church" will embrace sodomy.

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

I don't make it fit my belief.

If one scripture talks about women being silent in church, and others speak of a female apostle and female leaders of their congregations as in Corinthians and Romans then this scripture can not apply to females being pastors.

You are taking one scripture ( 1 Cor. 14:34 ) and making it fit your meaning, but if you take the other scriptures that speak of female leaders that Paul spoke to. Notice again Paul did not go to Corinth and address just male leaders and tell them to pass it to the women in the congregation. No he addressed the women leaders personally.

You can not apply this scripture to female pastors not allowed when the bible shows female leaders, apostles, and pastors back in those days as well.

Plus let me put some thing else across here. I have heard some female pastors that were a lot better than a lot of male pastors I have listened to.

The Lord does not have a problem with a woman preaching the gospel as long as she preaches truly from the word.

If a woman pastor stands in front of 100 people and preaches the true gospel, and brings a good majority of them to Christ to be saved. Do you think our Lord would be against her preaching ?

There are no verses that speak of female apostles and leaders of their church.

Galatians 3:28

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Sorry you can not believe it, but once again Junias was a female apostle.

There are multiple female disciples mentioned in the bible, Tabitha in Acts 9:36.
Phoebe in Romans 16:1 who was sent from the church in Cenchrea to conduct business with the Romans. She is listed as a deacon in some translations which is a leadership role.
Then there is also Priscilla who was also mentioned, and these woman are mentioned in the same regard and some even a higher regard then some of the men mentioned by Peter and Paul.

So does that mean a man can lie with a man since there is neither male nor female in Christ?

A disciple is not a bishop nor an apostle. A disciple is a follower of someone. Tabitha, Phebe nor Priscilla were apostles, bishops or preachers.

Listen you can believe what you want, it doesn't matter to me. God makes some things pretty simple, 1Co_14:35 is crystal clear. I just believe what the bible says.
