Which is bondage?

Obeying God every day of the week, which includes, taking the seventh day off from your job to gather for sacred assembly and for enjoying the day that God blessed and set apart for that very purpose?

Or

Being fearful of falling from grace because obeying the commandments of God at any point during the week causes you to violate your seven day Sabbath?

[SUP]4 [/SUP]You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. (from Gal. 5)

Neither.

We rest in the Work of Christ and bear His Fruit:

[SUP]22 [/SUP]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [SUP]23 [/SUP]gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

[SUP]18 [/SUP]But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Again another Saturday thread. If you are not going to just come out and say that all Sunday church goers are going to burn in hell, then what is the point in this? If you say they are saved, then again a wasted thread.

But this is what we like. We need to know what bondage IS.

BILLS ARE DUE ON SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS.

And bills don't exist unless we give it the power over us. That is a burden!

From what I hear there are MANY lies today and there has been truth in production many years prior that is just sitting to be released after HE makes any move in opposition to what is coming...Sorry buddy I do not fear anything. I do it because I love GOD and I have seen that altar don't get it bent...today the law is in the heart and we know its truth unlike the law no man can change that gift

You can gather every day of the week, praise God! You can't honor the seventh day seven days a week. You can have sex with your wife seven days a week, praise God! You can't have sex with seven different wives every day of the week!

For me, I can't see bondage. Is the bondage real? We are tied up and tied up well. We will remain bondage because this is what we want to believe.

That's what God is hearing you say.

Bondage is life style in Egypt and/or Babylon.
Freedom is coming out of her and to be a citizen in His kingdom.
He actually asked if the Israelites were willing before He spoke the "dreadful" ten Words including the one which many speak against or try to replace it with something that's not today cf Exodus 19 & 20.
Question is, why would one consider His Words bondage?

Again another thread on adultery. If you are not going to just come out and say that all adulterers are going to burn in hell, then what is the point in this? If you say they are saved, then again a wasted thread.

Sex is good whether it's on Saturday or Sunday.

And adultery doesn't exist unless we give it the power over us. That is a burden!
Good point!

Works of the flesh is not the Fruit of the Spirit.

Fruit of the Spirit can only be produced by the Spirit; if you are in Christ, you have the Spirit. Even in Christ, however, you can choose to try to be justified by Law, in which case you render Christ of no effect in this life.

You say, "Hey, as long as I'm a nice guy I'm good to go....sweet!"

Well, Law-keeping will, according to Law-keepers, make you 'a nice guy', yes? So according to that thought process, with the Law you're 'good to go'. No need for Christ!

[SUP]19 [/SUP]“For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. [SUP]20 [/SUP]I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. [SUP]21 [/SUP]I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (from Gal. 2)

Unfortunately that will only result in dead works, not live Fruit of the Spirit because you are in Christ. And the works of the flesh are also detailed in Galatians 5. Law-keepers tend to ignore the existence of, but oft times demonstrate these works of the flesh: idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy

Being fearful of falling from grace because obeying the commandments of God at any point during the week causes you to violate your seven day Sabbath?
how in the world could someone become so deceived as to think that doing the work of God would 'violate a sabbath' and/or incur His wrath??

it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath
(Matthew 12:12)

Amen! It's lawful to do good on the Sabbath. The fact that Jesus would even say that tells us that the seventh day Sabbath is still alive and well.

Works of the flesh is not the Fruit of the Spirit.-JGIG
Works of the flesh equate to not worshiping other gods, not using the Lord's name in vain, not worshiping idols, honoring the seventh day as being blessed of God are works of the flesh? Wow! God has a big problem and so do we because if I turn from my sin I have to turn to my sin.

Here is what God calls the works of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

You can't honor the seventh day seven days a week.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

(Matthew 11:28-30)

is the Lord of the Sabbath able to give me rest during only a seventh of my days?

even now our Priest has sat down to wait and no longer labors to bring sacrifices:

But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet.
(Hebrews 10:12-13)

shall we do our own works 6 days of 7? or daily take up Christ and put away the works of the flesh?

for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
(Hebrews 4:10)

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.
(Galatians 5:19-21)

if every day we forsake the work of the flesh and pursue the work of the Spirit, which work is done not of ourselves but of the power of Christ living within us, do we not by this enter into His rest?
my body may rest on a seventh day, but the Sabbath of my soul is eternal!

Why We're Closed on Sundays
Our founder, Truett Cathy, made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946 when he opened his first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. He has often shared that his decision was as much practical as spiritual. He believes that all franchised Chick-fil-A Operators and their Restaurant employees should have an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so. That's why all Chick-fil-A Restaurants are closed on Sundays. It's part of our recipe for success.
