Hey everyone.
Just a question - one directed towards the guys - would you date a woman who is taller than yourself?
And to the ladies - would you date a man shorter than you?
My question stems from a personal interest.
I am reasonably tall. I measured a decent 5'7 and a half and was still growing until my worried grandma started praying fervently that I should NOT grow any taller.
Her reason? I would not find it easy to get married. I do find myself taller than most men or at least the same height.
When I was at New York, I had my height measured again, and interestingly I measured a 5'9. I am not sure if I grew taller (is it possible to still grow at the age of 21?) or I was measured incorrectly.
Most likely the latter. It made me laugh just imagining how horrified my grandma would be.
However it IS TRUE that MOST(not all) Indian men , at least in the marriage market don't prefer too tall women. For them a lady who is 5'3 is probably ideal. This is from personal experience, with cousins getting married as well as classmates.
5'9 or 5'8 might be tall in the Indian society, but I am pretty sure it's average in some European countries.
Honestly, I like being tall. I wish I could grow taller and if some guy doesn't want to be with me coz he might be shorter - then my response is "like whatever".
Whether or not I am taller, I especially enjoy wearing heels. That increases my height by 2-3 inches anyway.
Would I ever marry a guy who is shorter? Absolutely. If his heart is in the right place, honestly it doesn't matter to me.
What about you guys? Please be honest.
People do have shallow filters in their selection criteria. For example today, the morning radio show host declared she would never date a person who had the same name as her parents...
We have 7 billion people in the planet. We do need filters.
