If you aren't at a stage in life where you are close to getting married, you shouldn't be dating. If you date, it should be to find a wife, not to find a girl-friend. If you will notice, there are no girlfriends or boyfriends in the Bible. 10 years of dating, driving around together to places in cars in the dark and sitting next to each other in dark movie theaters can lead to what Solomon calls awakening love before it so desires. It also creates a lot of temptation to fall into the sin of fornication. The current culture where people date and break up over and over again trains people for divorce, not for lasting relationships.
If you want the perfect girl fast, start working really hard to get yourself into a situation where you can provide for her, and then if you want to marry young, get some good parental and marital input on your potential spouse.
