With proper explanation of this anomalous type of behavior, more people would find it much easier to discern truth regarding matters considered as 'conspiracy theories' and other issues without having to be convinced by 'the better argument' or the more believable side.

this again summarizes the strategy and targets of your deception...

you don't want people to require that assertions be supported by arguments based on facts or evidence or plausibility...you want people to lower their standards of proof...

so you are here to take advantage of the easily misled...which makes you that much more harmful to the church and gives us all the more reason to oppose you...because you are preying on those who are most vulnerable in the faith...

I'm up for listening to a GOOD properly vetted conspiracy theory carefully supported with evidence that would meet the higher rating for strength of evidence qualifications but those are quite rare. I've seen one or two Kennedy theories that qualify but 99.99% of the conspiracy theories floating around on the Internet fall short ranging from blatant fabrications to wildly skewed constructs based around a few kernels of truth to some really good attempts that look good on the surface but as you dig into them eventually collapse.

Definitely need to avoid the ditches on both sides: total disbelief and blind belief. It requires:

1. the exercise of one's intuition (your 'knower' or the perceiving part of you; this is the part of you that feels people's emotions)

2. the exercise of your intelligence (where you reason things out, put two and two together, process of elimination, etc.)

3. personal research about the issue (put action to your wondering and speculating), and

4. the input of the Holy Spirit (He has a way of 'enlightening' your own understanding or what you know, broadening things so you see farther, clearer, and with a much wider panoramic view).

Ps. 119:105 says God's Word is a light and lamp which shines on the path (the truth) with each step forward you take. Ps. 119:130 says that when God's light/lamp is allowed to lead the way, even the most unintelligent and youngest will see the truth. If you do your part (the first three above), He will do His part (the fourth above) which seals in the truth you learn with an assurance that's pretty much unshakable.

the order you put things in here reveals a -lot- about you and how you come to your beliefs...

namely you have put the input of the holy spirit dead last in your process...and you have put actual research second to last...you have placed both behind unsubstantiated feelings and equally unsubstantiated speculation...

putting your method into practice would look something like this...

step one...find someone who you just 'have a bad feeling' about...
example...'pope benedict creeps me out'

step two...give free rein to speculation on what awful things this person may have done...
example...'i could totally see him as a child molester'

step three...so called 'research'...go fishing for anything that agrees with your speculation...reliability of your sources is not important...
example...'this guy on youtube says pope benedict was a child molester!'

step four...go fishing for biblical texts that can be twisted to validate or further embellish your fiction...
example...'in the bible sodom was sexually immoral without regard for age...so voila! biblical proof that pope benedict is a child molester!'

of course so called 'truth' arrived at in this way isn't going to appeal to those of us who believe that 'the heart is deceitful above all things' and are inclined to doubt your 'intuition'...or to those of us who believe in studying an issue -before- you come to a conclusion...

These facts cannot be nullified. But the immense unbelief (a refusal to look beyond your beliefs) of a Bible student like yourself is well recorded in the NT. You cannot close yourself between the Bible pages and 'see no evil'. We live in a real world where satan rules.

the article is misleading but it is a textbook example of how to deceive people with half truths...

first of all...most of the links in just that paragraph go to exactly the same place...this is targeted at people who don't realize the importance of verifying sources...who generally won't bother to actually click each link to see where it goes...to those people the article gives the false impression of being well sourced and therefore reliable...

anyway i went to the article that most of the links go to...and again there is another article that is designed to create the false impression of being well sourced... there are links to credible news stories in support of -peripheral- claims... but when you arrive at the bottom of the page where the author drops her 'bombshell' accusation...suddenly there is no substantiation...no link to any news source...just a claim and an unnamed and apparently unvetted anecdotal source...

so actually the primary claim of the article is the one claim the author fails to substantiate...the article claims that queen elizabeth was convicted but there is no evidence...the article then claims that the evidence is not public record because of some agreement that a blogger heard about through some unnamed vatican source...

the bottom line is that the central allegation you are making is completely unsubstantiated...there is no record of any arrest warrant...no record of any ICC conviction...no record of any agreement to cover up any ICC conviction...nothing but the word of some blogger...

and this is what passes for 'research' in the minds of conspiracy theorists...but as we saw earlier...actually researching the allegation is step three in your process...your mind was already made up at steps one and two so you cut corners on the research part...

Often times the people who perpetuate whatever pet conspiracy theory do so as their source of income. It's just a fact that those kinds of things sell books and selling books equals profits. Look at David Ickes and his reptilian stuff. It made him a rich man. No different than all of these "energy one with universe" gurus out there. It's about making a living.....albeit a dishonest one. I prefer to make my living the good old fashion way, devoid of snake oil pitches and playing on the emotions of gullible people.

Just for the record, my prior post was not in defense of the OP's over the top conspiracy theory, but just a rebuttal to Rachel's statement that conspiracy theorists never have broken a legitimate story (paraphrase).
