Praise the Lord for His Genuine Salvation OSS

Once Saved, Saved!

Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul;
Rest in the arms of His care;
Whatever thy lot,
It mattereth not,
For nothing can trouble the there;
Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul,
He is the once who doth care;

Trust in the Lord & peaceful be;
Fret not thy spirit in vain;
He hath redeemed, & He will keep;
Trust Him & be not afraid!

Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul.

Trust Him to get you to Heaven by His grace, by the power of His cross.
Do not depreciate Him to "chance-giver."

Thou shalt call His name Jesus,
for He shall save His people from their sins.

Ps 52
But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God:
I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.
I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it;

1 Thes 5 end:
"And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He Who calls you,Who will also do it.'

Col 3
When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, thenyou also with him shall be manifested in glory.

2 Thes 2:16
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,

End of Rom 8:
And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose. For whom
he foreknew,
he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: and whom
he foreordained, them
he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom
he justified, them
he also glorified.

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 3He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth; who is he that condemneth? It is Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Even as it is written,
For thy sake we are killed all the day long;
We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

< 1 Pet 1
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

THE OVERCOMER
Revelation 3:5
The one who overcomes will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father… 1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
And who is he who overcomes the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and betheir God: and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away. And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true. And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He who overcomes shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

2 Tim 4:18
The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom;

Rm 6:23b
the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 6:37
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
John 10:28
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

2 Corinthians 1:22
And who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
Romans 11:29
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
Philippians 1:6
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

YHWH redeems the soul of his servants;
And none of them who take refuge in him shall be condemned.

The Golden Chain in Romans 8

Foreknew > Foreordained > Called > Justified > Glorified

And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose. For whom
he [SUB]foreknew,[/SUB]
he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: and whom
he foreordained, them
he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom
he justified, them
he also glorified.

Lift up thy vocal cords:

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Greater than all my sins;
How shall my tongue describe it?
Where shall His praise begin?
Taking away my burden,
Setting my spirit free;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus
Reaches me.

Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus . . .

This again. Look if your faith is in the work of the cross and you endure till the end then yes you have eternally security. But if you think that because you were baptized and continue in sin then no you do not have eternal security.

Good madrugada Kerry,

Are you trying to swift-boat us?
I hope you doing well
(which means you have actually trusted Christ as Savior, instead of chance-giver).

1) It bothers me that you are ever speaking of faith in the cross instead of faith in the Lord Jesus, a person. I realize you may mean the Lord Jesus and His cross work.

2) Saying "if . . . you endure till the end then yes you have eternally security" sounds like double talk. If you have security, you have security? If you endure, you endure?

Eternal security means that you endure to the end because the Lord Jesus causes you to endure to the end; in other words, if you are saved, then you are saved.

I give them eternal life, & they shall never perish.

Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

What impact does it have on your life? Do you constantly waffle - am I saved, am I not saved? I better get saved again - does the anxiety drive you?

Does this come up because so many of us go to a church that's all about the Crisis? Put a log on the fire at camp, come to the front of the church and put it on the altar

Just to have it come back off the altar after church?

Or is it from a place where they teach the process, but you never come to a crisis, so as you go through the process and you fail, you think I just must not be saved, if I was it would be working.

1st John was written so that you may know if your saved

Gospel of John was written so that you may know how to be saved

Doubting causes an attack at the foundational Identity God wants to give you, trading it in for one given to you and the world

IF it keeps you near the cross, pursing God in repentance and faith - be convinced of your own accord and act upon it

It's easy to say these things - But I know I struggle, I doubt my salvation

the only proofs of Salvation in my life I can see at times like this is - endurance, i keep pressing on sometimes it's like "I'm still here" and God keeps me

The Lord insists that we rest in Him. Come to Me all you who labor & are heavy laden . . . and I will give you rest.

Hebrews 3-4:

To-day if ye shall hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation,
. . .

Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, . . .

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient? 19 And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.

Heb. 4:1
Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard. 3 For
we who have believed do enter into that rest;
even as he hath said,

As I sware in my wrath,
They shall not enter into my rest:
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

. . .
To-day if ye shall hear his voice,
Harden not your hearts.

Heb. 4:8
For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

11
Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest,

Just to have it come back off the altar after church?

List of things not in the Bible:

1) going to the front of the church, possibly invented by Finney less than 200 years ago.

2) log on a fire at camp,

3) altar in a local church. Christ paid for our sins 2000 years ago. There are no legitimate altars (on earth) after the cross.

Or is it from a place where they teach the process, but you never come to a crisis, so as you go through the process and you fail, you think I just must not be saved, if I was it would be working.

Crisis? I don't know where the Bible speaks of "crisis" in salvation, though a new birth could be called that IMHO. The point is that you must TRUST the Savior.

Sirs, what MUST I DO to be saved?
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.

1st John was written so that you may know if your saved

IMHO, 1 John was written with the primary theme to encourage one to Abide in (fellowship with) Christ; it is an expansion of John 15 (Abide in [fellowship] with Christ); it does have a minor theme of assurance of salvation.

Gospel of John was written so that you may know how to be saved

As John says, John presents signs (miracles) that Christ did to bring people to belief in Christ. I would say not just to know how to be saved, but to effect salvation in the reader, inducing faith (faith comes by hearing the Word of God).

Doubting causes an attack at the foundational Identity God wants to give you, trading it in for one given to you and the world
IF it keeps you near the cross, pursing God in repentance and faith - be convinced of your own accord and act upon it

Non-faith is the ultimate enemy of salvation; for trusting the SAvior with one's eternal destiny brings salvation.

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

. . .
It's easy to say these things - But I know I struggle, I doubt my salvation
Do you have enough faith to ask the Lord Jesus to save you (not just give you a chance at it?)

"For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Rom 10:13. As the following verse says, this is a call of faith.

Do you have enough faith to call?

Can you call out now to the God-man, risen from the dead:

"Lord Jesus, please save me, make me a new creation, forgive me of all my sins, and give me your gift of eternal life. I do now trust you as my only & sufficient Savior for my eternal well-being, and I depend upon your atonement on the cross to pay for all my sins"

1. COME, ye sinners, poor and wretched,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore,
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of pity joined with power;
He is able, He is able,
He is willing; doubt no more;
He is able, He is able,
He is willing; doubt no more.

2. Ho! ye needy, come and welcome,
God’s free bounty glorify;
True belief and true repentance,
Every grace that brings us nigh,
Without money, without money,
Come to Jesus Christ and buy!
Without money, without money,
Come to Jesus Christ and buy!

3. Let not conscience make you linger,
Nor of fitness fondly dream;
All the fitness He requireth
Is to feel your need of Him;
This He gives you, this He gives you;
‘Tis the Spirit’s rising beam;
This He gives you, this He gives you;
‘Tis the Spirit’s rising beam.

4. Come, ye weary, heavy laden,
Bruised and mangled by the fall;
If you tarry till you’re better,
You will never come at all!
Not the righteous, not the righteous,
Sinners Jesus came to call;

Not the righteous, not the righteous,
Sinners Jesus came to call.

5. View Him agonizing* in the garden;
Lo! your Maker prostrate lies;
On the bloody tree behold Him;
Hear Him cry, before He dies;
“It is finished!” “It is finished!”
Sinner, will not this suffice?
“It is finished!” “It is finished!”
Sinner, will not this suffice?

6. Lo! the incarnate God ascended,
Pleads the merits of His blood;
Venture on Him, venture wholly,
Let no other trust intrude;
None but Jesus, none but Jesus,
Can do helpless sinners good;
None but Jesus, none but Jesus,
Can do helpless sinners good.

missed my point - there is a crisis, and a process, a failure in the process, means a crisis needs to come about that leads to change

with no change there is no repentance - without repentance there is not faith - without faith there is no salvation

Note tutor that the above is your word, not God's.

Metanoia = change of mind (repentance).
The Bible over & over tells us that there is only one thing to do to be saved, one MUST I DO.

Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.

Believing in Christ is also resting in Him. (Hebrews 3-4).
The only change of mind (repentance) that saves is changing from non-belief to belief.

Biblical metanoia is not turning over a new leaf.

Why argue with it?

Why not trust the Savior with your eternal destiny?

Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

You change your mind but you are not proving what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Faith without works is dead
Is this in your bible....He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
(you believe but you do not enter)

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(you believe but you do not call)

Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
(you believe but you do not know the words by which you shall be saved)

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
(You believe but you do not believe it is through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved)

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
( you believe but you do not believe we shall be saved through him)

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
(You believe but you do not believe we shall be saved by his life)

You believe you must only believe, demons do better than you they tremble....

What is funny is you don't even believe in what you believe in....before you believed Christ you did nothing what he said to do ...Now you say you believe Him and still you do nothing what he says to do....What do you really believe???????

Kerry's statement is true...Jesus guarantee us if we endure unto the end we shall be saved.
We who believe know the work of the cross started from the foundation of the world. Did you not read of it in the OT
[SUP]

9 [/SUP]Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Exactly. But the reverse is also true. The only change of mind that condemns is changing from belief to non-belief. Unless your god is a jailer.

But you'll never let yourself accept that. So why do I bother?

Oy vey.

Ricky, show me one verse where anyone ever is said to stop believing in the Lord Jesus as Savior to eternal life. "Lose faith" never occurs in the Bible. But on the contrary, we see the Lord Jesus praying for Peter that Peter's faith fail not. Do you suppose that the Lord Jesus who makes intercession for believers is refused his requests for Christians? Born again children of God may indeed fail to trust the Lord in some situation, but we don't find their trusting the Lord for their eternal destiny ever stopping. Peter trusted the Lord enough to get out of the boat and walk on the water. He faltered, but an arm grabbed ahold of Him.

I can no more stop being a child of God that I can stop being a son of my earthly father.

Why bother indeed. I trust the Lord JEsus as my SAvior, not as my "chance-giver." I believe His word:

I give them eternal life, & they shall never perish. Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save HIs people from their sins. He Who began a good work in you will complete it.

Now Ricky, what have you got against trusting the Lord Jesus as your Savior? Will you continue to insist that He is no Savior all the way to the Lake of Fire?

The scripture teaches we must endure unto the end to be saved are you saying different?
Kerry's statement is true...Jesus guarantee us if we endure unto the end we shall be saved.
We who believe know the work of the cross started from the foundation of the world. Did you not read of it in the OT
I have read the OT through times beyond counting. How many times have you read it through, NewB?

Enduring to the end & being saved in Mat 24 is about Then, the tribulation, believers having relief from the tribulation when Christ returns. But since the Lord Jesus promises that He will save His people from their sins, by their eternal security all who trust HIm as Savior do endure to the end.
NewB, why do you ignore the word Then in your passage?
Then [during the tribulation] shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
[Tribulation, NewB]

[SUP]10 [/SUP]And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]But he that shall endure unto the end [of the Tribulation], the same shall be saved [from affliction, murder, hatred, betrayal, false prophets etc, saved by Christ's return.]

NewB, why are you so determined not to trust the Lord Jesus as your Savior?
