Is that what you are saved to do? call names ? is your joy full ? are you blessed by that? have you edified anyone?
Seems to me that he lacks a little thing called love, seeing that he is offensive and we all know what that Scripturally means: sinful. Guess he thinks keeping Christ's Law is not to his likening either.

Note tutor that the above is your word, not God's.

Metanoia = change of mind (repentance).
The Bible over & over tells us that there is only one thing to do to be saved, one MUST I DO.

Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.

Believing in Christ is also resting in Him. (Hebrews 3-4).
The only change of mind (repentance) that saves is changing from non-belief to belief.

Biblical metanoia is not turning over a new leaf.

Why argue with it?

Why not trust the Savior with your eternal destiny?

Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.

Missed my point again - The crisis brings repentance, the process is bearing fruits of repentance

The Lord Jesus, not just a judge, though he is that. How many professed Christians are there who have no understanding of Savior & salvation? The Lord Jesus will judge and separate sheep from goats and judgment is by works (see Mat 25). But judging is not salvation. Salvation is by grace, not works. And the judgment is not the plan of salvation.

Salvation begins with a transformation of the sinner's nature, a new birth. The wretch who has no good works is changed by the Savior Who saves Him. All required of man is faith/belief.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ & you shall be saved.

Thou shalt call HIs name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

Christians are not said to go to the Great White Throne Judgment, which issues in condemnation to the Lake of Fire in Rev 20. Christians have a date with the Lord at the Bema, the Judgment Seat of Christ (1 & 2 Corinthians) where their works will be examined, then rewards given or lost. But their destiny is not at issue, for they have a Savior Who saves His people from their sins.

Salvation does not wait for any judgment. Now is the day of salvation!

"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish."

Repent of the "Chance-Giver" Theory, Trust the Savior

You will not be saved by good works.

The Lord Jesus is the Savior, not mere "chance-giver."
Give it up & cling to Him as your Savior.

Thou shalt call His name Jesus,
for He shall save His people from their sins.

1. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,”
This is God’s gracious command;
“In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
So shalt thou dwell in the land.”

2. “Trust in the Lord” who ruleth all,
Seeth all things as they are,
Be it a birdling in its nest,
Or yonder uttermost star.
`
3. “Trust in the Lord” and peaceful be,
Fret not thy spirit in vain,
What tho’ the answer tarries long,
Still shalt thou praise Him again.

4. “Trust in the Lord”—His eye will guide
All thro’ the pathway ahead,
He hath redeemed, and He will keep,
Trust Him and be not afraid.

“Trust in the Lord,” O troubled soul,
Rest in the arms of His care;
Whatever thy lot, it mattereth not,
For nothing can trouble thee there;
“Trust in the Lord,” O troubled soul,
He is the One Who doth care.

The scripture says love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind.

This means that if you believe and love Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you trust in and do what he said to be saved.

Jesus said repent of your sins, or you will perish.

Jesus said you must be born again to see the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus said if you deny helping others, you deny Him. And if you deny Him, He will deny you.

Jesus said you must forgive others of sins, or you will not be forgiven.

Satan and demons believe in Jesus, but their ways are evil/walking in darkness and will deceive many to a walk that way.
Those who follow this way, walking in willful sin will perish.

We who love and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, are called to walk in light/ good deeds done out of love for our Lord.
If one does not walk in that light, He makes it clear that He is not of His fold. ( sheep )

The separating of the sheep and goats is separating true believers from those who walk in mere belief only.

Goats are those who say they believe, but in their works they deny Him.
( Walking in willful sin, and/or not doing the work of an evangelist as the scriptures call us to do. )

The scripture says love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind.
So since all men fail at that, they must have a Savior, who saves them from that and all other sins.

Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

This means that if you believe and love Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you trust in and do what he said to be saved.
Nonsense. Salvation is the rescue for men who fail to love and to do as he said -- like you and me, Kenneth.

Jesus said repent of your sins, or you will perish.
"Repent of your sins" is a string of words found no where in the Bible, either in the ASV or the KJV. I just checked it.

The only thing that saves, the one MUST I DO is
"Sirs, what MUST I DO to be saved?
Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved."

Thus the only repentance (change of mind) that saves is change from non-belief to belief, to trusting Him.

Now go check your Bible & find out how many times the word save/salvation occurs in one verse with Repent/repentance; then compare that with belief/faith. I just checked the KJV and found only 1 instance of repent/repentance and save/salvation, one verse in the whole KJV.

Kenneth, is your heart set on going to the Lake of Fire for not being willing to take the position of the Publican sinner and throw yourself on God's mercy?

Jesus said if you deny helping others, you deny Him. And if you deny Him, He will deny you.
It is noted that you do not quote a verse about salvation and focus on a different topic.

Jesus said you must forgive others of sins, or you will not be forgiven.
And the word save/salvation doesn't occur in that one either. And you confuse woodshed forgiveness with the free gift of eternal life which comes only by grace. There is a forgiveness in the family of God which avoids chastisement.

Satan and demons believe in Jesus,
Do you understand what saving faith is? It is not being convinced that X is true. It is not as my "church of Christ" minister asked me when I went forward at 9 years of age "Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God." (I said, "Yes," was dunked in a river, and became a "member of the church.") Demons never trust Christ as Savior, which is what saving faith is.

Dismissing Christ as a mere chance giver & judge is not Saving faith. You need to trust Him with your eternal destiny.

We who love and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior,
When I was in the dead denomination I was raised in, I spoke of "accepting Jesus." Now where does the Bible ever say that "accepting Jesus" saves anyone? Nowhere.

But believe/trust/have faith is repeated over & over & over.
Now why have a hard-heart of disbelief, failing to rest in God's promises?

The separating of the sheep and goats is separating true believers from those who walk in mere belief only.
The Sheep & goat judgment happens at the end of the tribulation for how the gentiles treat "Christ's brethren" in the great tribulation. That is a topic of judgment, not of salvation. Now is the day of salvation; the day of salvation is not years from now in the Sheep & Goat judgment.

( Walking in willful sin, and/or not doing the work of an evangelist as the scriptures call us to do. )
Scripture never calls unbelievers who dismiss the Savior as "chance-giver" to be an evangelist. But there is a curse, an anathema on spreading a false gospel (see Galatians 1).

So to any reading this, if you have sinned in disbelief by writing off the Lord Jesus as a mere chance-giver & judge, not trusting Him as Savior of the sinner; repent & trust Him now.

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved.
Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sin.
He Who began a good work in you, will complete it.

Luke 13 is talking about sinners, and no matter how bad a sinner is if they repent and turn away from those sins then they to can be saved.

But if you don't repent and turn away from those sins, and walk in light you will perish.

I do believe what it means to be saved, and I do not cancel out the words of my Lord as you do.

He mentions more then once in scripture that if you do not help others, hide your belief, forgive others, live in wilful sin, and more then you are not truly His. You only have mere belief.
He also said if you deny Him, He will deny you. He told us ways we can deny Him.

If works of love do not matter, then the worst of people who say they believe but still steal, murder, adulterer, fornicator, gay, and so on with out repentance of those sins will still go to heaven.

Repentance means a change of mind to show our need of a savior, because of our wrongful ways and show us how we need to turn and stop walking in those sins.

Can some one say they believe, yet deny the Lord.......YES.

Matthew 25 is a clear picture of that.

Kenneth, you are just saying things now & opposing yourself with your imagination. Repent of inventing your own gospel.

Turning over a new leaf saves no one. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, & you shall be saved. From your last post belittling belief as what satan & demons do, it appears that you don't even have faith in your (non-biblical) list of things to do to be saved. From that post you seem to have belief defined in your mind as believing some facts, instead of trusting Christ as Savior. Thus by making your grocery list and defining belief as demonic factual belief, you seem to have thrown faith out of the grocery list. But real faith is the only thing -- there is no grocery list.

The only repentance that saves is change of mind from non-trust to trust in the Savior. I note that you don't even present one verse that combines repent/repentance with save/salvation.

Salvation is about a Savior saving wretched sinners from their sins. It is not about sinners cleaning up their lives & getting judged righteous. Look at scripture, quote it, instead of making up your own abominable non-gospel.

But if you don't repent and turn away from those sins, and walk in light you will perish.
If you want to perish, just keep on dismissing the Savior as what He is, a Savior, and keep on thinking your works save you.

I do believe what it means to be saved, and I do not cancel out the words of my Lord as you do.
Then why is all the above your word, & not His???

He also said if you deny Him, He will deny you. He told us ways we can deny Him.

And right now you go on denying Him as Savior.

If works of love do not matter, then the worst of people who say they believe but still steal, murder, adulterer, fornicator, gay, and so on with out repentance of those sins will still go to heaven.
No works save. Stop denying the Savior and stop believing in your own filthy rags of pretend-righteousness.

Salvation is for those who do not love, for theves, murderers, fornicators, sodomists -- he came to call sinners. Salvation is not for the "righteous." Salvation is for those who need saving.

Repentance means a change of mind to show our need of a savior, because of our wrongful ways and show us how we need to turn and stop walking in those sins.
repentance is a change of mind from not-trust in the Savior to trust in the Savior, that is, saving repentance. Repentance is not to show anything, it is to depend on the Savior. Repentance is from believing in your own alleged good works to

Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

Can some one say they believe, yet deny the Lord.......YES.
Matthew 25 is a clear picture of that.
People can up & say most anything; they can deny the Gospel and the Savior. They can deny the only way they might ever do good works, by insisting that they must save themselves by their good works, of which they have none.

Mat 25 has a judgment at the end of the Tribulation of Gentiles for how they treat Christ's brethren during the tribulation. In Mat 25 neither "save" nor "salvation" is found. Now is the day of salvation; it is not in the Sheep & Goat judgment.

Anyone who is self-righteously deluded into thinking they can be saved by reforming themselves, anyone who had demoted the Lord Jesus to mere chance giver, needs to repent of that big sin and trust Him as SAvior.

Ps 37:5-6
Commit thy way unto Jehovah;
Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.
And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light,
And thy justice as the noonday.

Acts 15:8

And God, who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us; and he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

Acts 26:18b

that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

Rom 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.

Rom 3:21-30

But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction; 23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God set forth to be a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God; 26 for the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus. 27 Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith. 28 We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also: 30 if so be that God is one, and he shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.

Rom 4:1ff

:1 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, hath found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not toward God. 3 For what saith the scripture? And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh, the reward is not reckoned as of grace, but as of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believes on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness. 6 Even as David also pronounceth blessing upon the man, unto whom God reckoneth righteousness apart from works, 7 saying,
Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not reckon sin.

9 Is this blessing then pronounced upon the circumcision, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say, To Abraham his faith was reckoned for righteousness. 10 How then was it reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision: 11 and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while he was in uncircumcision: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be in uncircumcision, that righteousness might be reckoned unto them; 12 and the father of circumcision to them who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham which he had in uncircumcision. 13 For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed that he should be heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they that are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of none effect: 15 for the law worketh wrath; but where there is no law, neither is there transgression. 16 For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace; to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, A father of many nations have I made thee) before him whom he believed, even God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were. 18 Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 Wherefore also it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.

Rom 5:1-2
Being therefore justified by faith, let us have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and let us boast in hope of the glory of God.
Rom 9:30:
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who followed not after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith: but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling; even as it is written,
Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence:
And he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.

Rom 10:4ff

For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believes. For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby. But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:) or, Who shall descend into the abyss? (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.

If you want to perish, just keep on dismissing the Savior as what He is, a Savior, and keep on thinking your works save you.

Then why is all the above your word, & not His???

And right now you go on denying Him as Savior.
[/B]

No works save. Stop denying the Savior and stop believing in your own filthy rags of pretend-righteousness.

Salvation is for those who do not love, for theves, murderers, fornicators, sodomists -- he came to call sinners. Salvation is not for the "righteous." Salvation is for those who need saving.

repentance is a change of mind from not-trust in the Savior to trust in the Savior, that is, saving repentance. Repentance is not to show anything, it is to depend on the Savior. Repentance is from believing in your own alleged good works to

Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

I will confess his name before my Father… 1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. And who is he who overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

JOHN 20:30

And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief: 16 howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me as chief might Jesus Christ show forth all his longsuffering, for an ensample of them that should thereafter believe on him unto eternal life.

1 John 5:10-12
He that believes on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believes not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son. Ps 37:5-6

Acts 15:8

Acts 26:18b

that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

Pretty strong words from somebody who likes to brag about how many times he has read the bible through. I would say you have a long way to go in learning what the bible REALLY says.

The Lord Jesus must be obeyed Lord is master....sheep obey goats don't...who are the ones saved in Matt 25....those who did good ...Salvation is by grace grace through faith, not works of the law ...but through works of faith which is dead without works. The plan of salvation is that the sheep are not harmed by that judgement...

The wretch who has no good works is changed by the Savior Who creates Him unto good works

Don't you know eternal life is in the word that God gave us? Do you know a servant of God obeys his word?

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

1. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,”This is God’s gracious command;“In all thy ways acknowledge Him,So shalt thou dwell in the land.”2. “Trust in the Lord” who ruleth all,Seeth all things as they are,Be it a birdling in its nest,Or yonder uttermost star.3. “Trust in the Lord” and peaceful be,Fret not thy spirit in vain,What tho’ the answer tarries long,Still shalt thou praise Him again.4. “Trust in the Lord”—His eye will guideAll thro’ the pathway ahead,He hath redeemed and He will keep,Trust Him and be not afraid.“Trust in the Lord,” O troubled soul,Rest in the arms of His care;Whatever thy lot, it mattereth not,For nothing can trouble thee there;“Trust in the Lord,” O troubled soul,Nothing can trouble thee there.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
[SUP]13 [/SUP]But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

[SUP]16 [/SUP]And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
[SUP]18 [/SUP]But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
[SUP]20 [/SUP]These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

You quote Paul's position in Galatians which is good....but are you following him as he followed Christ...that is the question....

Why Not Trust Him w/ Your Eternal Destiny?

Eternal life is yours just for trusting the Savior.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, & you shall be saved.

Why debate it?
Is it too much to confess your depravity and cast yourself on the Mercy of God, realizing that you will never earn approval of your works to eternal life?

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
These for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son
that whosoever believes in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

Let go of the doctrine of man and trust God you continually reject God in favour of man made doctrine. If you really believe him you will listen to his words.....all of them...
