Ive heard there are good recipes out there for home made deodorant.
I was wondering if any here have made and tried them, and how well they have worked.
The most important part is natural, and works well. :)
Thankyou so much. :)

pickles, try googling recipes online and/ or go on youtube. They have lots of DIY videos on how to make different things. I want to try to make some homemade, all-natural lip balm. :)

Thankyou blue-ladybug, :)
Also looking for some one who here who has made them, and found which has worked well. :)
Being diabetic has caused me to sweat more, and I really want to make sure I wont offend anyone. :)

As to lip balm, Ive been useing coconut oil, it is really soothing, but dos'nt last long on it's own.
Wonder what would work as a good binder to keep it lasting?

Ill keep my eyes open for you. :)

pickles, they have DIY videos on youtube for how to make different lip balms. I've watched a few, and I want to try to make a natural lip scrub which consists of coconut oil, honey, brown sugar, and peppermint. Best part is, I can eat it! LOL! And I can lick my lips without wondering what poison I'm ingesting. I have found one brand of flavored lip balm which has all-natural ingredients in it and I LOVE it. It is called EOS and it comes in an egg-shaped container with a twist-off cap. You get alot more in it than you do with a dinky tube of chapstick, which is good because I put EOS on a dozen times a day!! :)

Thankyou, its amazing the value of natural remidies that are being discovered.
I was listening to a drs program the other day, and coconut oil was one of the natural oils recomented as a cleansing oil to use in your mouth.
It has been used for centuries to detoxify, as the blood vessels are so shallow in the mouth.
If one takes an oil like coconut or sesamee oil, and swishes it in their mouth ofr about 5 minuts, it removes toxins from the body. :)
I have battled yeast in the mouth for a while now because of diebetes, and since I started doing this, the yeast has gone.
Do brush your teeth after though, as the oils can cause a strong breath if left in the mouth. :)

I actually use a coconut oil, baking soda, neem oil blend to brush my teeth. It works very well. Most online recipes say to use a 3 to 1 ratio on coconut oil and baking soda blend. But I have found that a higher ratio of baking soda works better. You can get coconut oil with out the strong scent. I buy mine off of Amazon. Also to combat the salty taste of the baking soda, use candy flavoring oils and you can use splenda if you wish.

DIY Natural Antiperspirant Deodorant Recipe

I will be trying this recipe but I may cut back on the Shea butter because if you use too much of it, it can stain your clothes. Also do not rub it in because you could get pimples from the cornstarch. Just put a thin layer on and let it soak in.

*If you have very sensitive skin, try substituting arrowroot for the baking soda or for a portion of the baking soda. Please note that this will lower the effectiveness of the deodorant. Also, don’t worry about aluminum in baking soda – it’s a myth. Baking powder may contain aluminum, but not baking soda.

Ok my recipe worked very well yesterday. It makes a huge batch so you may want to cut it down...I will probably do that next time.

1 cup of boiling distilled water
1 cup of baking soda
1/2 cup cornstarch
Mix these three ingredients together

1/4 cup of Shea butter
1/4 cup of coconut oil
2 tbs Beeswax or emulsifying wax
Melt these until just melted

3 dropper full of neem oil
10 drops of tea tree oil
10 drops of lavender or other essential oil for fragrance

Mix the melted oil and water solution until creamy. Add in essential oils and neem oil. Mix well. Pour into containers. This will setup into a thick lotion type consistency. Apply a thin coat to under arms. Don't rub in, just let it absorb in...it only takes a minute.

As said above, cornstarch can be irritating to sensitive skin. If it bothers you, be sure to switch out for arrow root powder.
