I'm a planner. I also am weird in that I plan kind of...really far in advance. It's more wishful planning though.

Like "If I'm not married by next year and my roommate has moved out since she's going to be getting married and I plan on staying here a while, maybe I'll buy a house" and "If I buy a house, maybe I'll foster dogs, or have one of my own" or "If I'm not married by 30 I'm going to invest in a boat to have on the lake".

Lots of what ifs. Which are kind of dumb. I suppose I just like having backup plans in case what I would really like (to be married and such) don't happen. Not sure if that's sad or smart. Or both.

I know "God laughs at our plans" (though I think that's taken somewhat out of context) because to me, it infers that He laughs because we're just stupid human beings who have no idea what the future holds, and that's partially true as well, but I don't think it's a bad idea to dream or plan either, as long as we are open to different things. If I am to picture God laughing at my plans, it's less of a haughty "Silly Rachel. You know nothing" and more a gentle laugh, "You have no idea, Child, what is in store for you."

i don't think what you're doing is weird. far from it.

i'm pretty spontaneous by nature, but i have plans, and contingency plans. notions for what i hope to be doing with my life and where i would like to be at those stages. partly plans, and partly dreams. still aware of the fact that God could introduce a major curve ball that would alter or eliminate those notions.

i would even go as far as calling that, figuring out who you are, and what it is that you want.

if you didn't spend any time thinking about what you hope to do with your life and make plans, i think THAT would be more weird. : )

that trite phrase, when we fail to plan, we plan to fail has some real truth to me. only when we hold onto our plans, with stubborn rebellion that we run into trouble.

Found out my ex-boyfriend (who works at for my company) is dating a co-worker. I hope I never meet her. Especially since I know how he treated me, awkward situation.

In other news, I may have a date soon. Met a Christian male online.

I don't know about other forums here at CC but I am liking the practice of praying for each others, especially those who with dire prayer request. I also like how people can post a quick prayer request here and those who browse can pray for them. I am not sure how many people frequent at any given time in this particular thread but when you think about collective 'asking, seeking, and knocking' of us putting our faith in Him, believing that not only He exists but He rewards those who seek Him, I think it's a really powerful weapon and a great way to edify each other.

I am liking it A LOT :)

Ohhh, this thread is a sort of 'general chat' thread. I've avoided it before now because of the title; for some reason I thought that "streams of conciousness and thought" would be loads of people pretentiously talking in psalms and poems about silly little things like "Woe unto me, my heart hath not remembered to washeth the dishes." :p

Well hello, I'm Jon. ;)

Hi Jon!
No, no. This thread is the complete opposite of pretentious. It runs the gambit from the very silly to the ultra serious, from the joyful to the heart-wrenching. This thread's made up of jokes, prayers, thought-provoking thoughts and not so thought-provoking thoughts and so much more. It's the human condition in one complete thread. Often it's the most rewarding and heart-warming place on CC. You're most welcome here. :)

I had begun to post a series of pictures trying to depict the stream of consciousness and feelings within me, but as I reflected over the ebb and flow of those waters...I decided it best to delete them all and simply post this artistically tasteful capture of a single moment in which a musician held his guitar.

...and on a special/unrelated note to Arwen (and anyone else who tries to speak some of the unspeakable words such as she...)... 0_0 Take that terrible avatar picture down!! Xc No! I won't do it! Don't ask me! We're not bringing them back! The summer drinks are leaving, and the fall/holiday drinks are taking a sabbatical this year! I can't hear you!!

Welcometh Jon, on behalf of the OP that made the thread- Me, under a different pen. You might find a bible verse, odd quote in here, but it's mainly for thoughts or happenings.

My heart doth rejoice that yea though his thoughts be clouded and sorely disturbed, yon yeoman jon hath at long last enjoined himself to tear back the veil and gaze upon the stream of consciousness thread that floweth ever onward through the vast expanses of CC. Let us bid him a hearty welcome and may he partaketh of the mirth and the camaraderie that formeth the lifeblood of this communal gathering.

(we'd hate to see your expectations disappointed after all.)

I kind of want a thread where we all speak in that sort of KJV & Shakespearean old-English now. It doth pleaseth my mind well; its sound a sweet river, its rhythm doth soothe. :p

Its so weird how life can come full circle sometimes. You end up in a spot almost identical to where you were months ago,..And here you thought you were making so much progress,...

Not that I'm going to let that discourage me, however, because I know that I have made a lot of progress,...This is just a time to push through and continue growing. Haa!!!

I'm trying to hang on to my enthusiasm lol. And my God.
I've had many of those situations. But when I either take a closer look, or when I come across a similar situation in the future, I realise I have some experiential wisdom tucked in there, waiting to spring at me and remind me what an interesting journey or voyage life can be.

Plus sometimes growing pains or pruning hurts for a time, but when you come out of the other end and look back, you are kind of thankful for it. I dunno. I'm not sure of your situation but that's my 2c worth!
