You know alcohol dehydrates person, it's not a substitute for water. Black scripture is crystal clear that there is new wine (grape juice) and old wine (fermented).

Isa_65:8 Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
Wine is watered down to make water drinkable and safer. Grape juice begins fermenting as soon as you squeeze it.

So "wine" can mean fermented or unfermented right? To know for sure which is being referenced, "new" or "old" has to be in front of it.
No, all wine is fermented. They had no way of producing grape juice at that time.

Grapes were squeezed and produces wine and vinegar, or the juice was boiled into a syrup substance.

I believe our God (who turned the water into wine) is greater because He is good.

This thread is about rewording the Bible to fit into your moral construct,
and force the actions of Christ to line up with your false teachings.

When you say that making fermented wine was a sin in that situation,
You have accused God of sin.

I will not tolerate such blasphemy against my God.
I don't have anything against wine... I drink it. I didn't say making fermented wine was a sin. Wine is made from CORRUPTION.... wine is a poison to the human body... my God doesn't corrupt things and doesn't give his children poison to drink. I don't think we worship the same God. By chance do you toke the holy ghost too?

Where do you guys get your definition of Oinos? Every where I look I get this.

oy'-nos
A primary word (or perhaps of Hebrew origin [H3196]); “wine” (literally or figuratively): - wine.
I see no one has answered this... Does anyone know where the alcoholic definition of this word comes from? Or are you guys just making that up?

That may be your opinion, but that's not what the bible says. The bible clearly says that new wine is found in the cluster.

This is not a matter of opinion, this is a matter of fact. All wine is fermented. There is a brief period of time between the squeezing of grapes and the fermentation of juice. Maybe a few days, maybe a few hours.

Vine's Expository Dictionary: "OINOS is the general word for wine. The mention of the bursting of the wineskins, Matt.9:17; Mark 2:22; Luke 5:37, implies fermentation. (See also Eph. 5:18 (cp. John 2:10; Tim 3:8; Tit. 2:3).

If somebody named Vine doesn't know what wine is, who the hell does.

Some who are posting on this thread have a Strong's, because I repeatedly see it being referred to. Strong's:

3631. oinos, oy'nos: a primary word for perh. of Heb. origin (3196), *wine* (lit. or fig) - wine.

Now, 3196 is the Hebrew word yayin.

And what is yayin?

You are the expert on this matter in this thread, in my opinion. I base that on your posts and the fact that you are a winemaker.

Now, I mentioned that I grew up in grape country, very close to the largest Welch's plant. I have picked grapes to make money and know many vineyard owners and winemakers.

Correct me if I'm wrong. There is dormant yeast present on the skins of grapes in the cluster, not yet picked. In fact, some people today mistake the evidence of this dormant yeast as insecticide. Once you pick the grapes from the cluster and squeeze the grapes the yeast on the skins and in the air immediately begins to interact with the juice (fermentation). Of course you can have grapes still on the cluster where the skin breaks due to being overly ripe and the fermentation begins at that point.

You forgot to add this? This is the third time you have cited this verse. As have Jason0047 and StandingFirmInChrist cited this verse.

This verse has more to do with cherry than grape, as in it is a favorite verse for yinz to cherry-pick with.

What do you think the "blessing" mentioned in this verse is?

Wine (or the juice that comes from the cluster of the grape) is naturally fermenting because the powder like substance on the skin of the grape (natural yeast) will react with the sugars inside (When it is crushed). But that does not mean every single batch of crushed grapes in human history has went thru the entire fermentation process fully with great success. Sometimes the natural fermentation only partially ferments and there are problems due to various conditions. This is one of the reasons why cultured yeast and sugar is added. Other reasons why cultured yeast and sugar is added is for taste, as well. Also, it takes time to go thru a complete fermentation process. Soon as wine (or the juice that comes from the cluster of the grape) is exposed to the skin (with the yeast on it) when crushed IT IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY FULLY FERMENTED WINE. That is why we can say it is UNFERMENTED wine (even though fresh wine juice or grape juice is naturally fermenting). For all fresh juice that comes from crushed grapes needs time to FULLY FORMENT COMPLETELY. That is why Jesus said that new wine (freshly squeezed grape juice) must be put into new wine skin bottles. For if you put new wine into old bottles that are already stretched from a previous batch of wine, then those old bottles are going to break because the new wine (or crushed fresh grape juice) is going to go thru the process of fermentation and stretch the old wine skins beyond their capacity and burst them. This is a parallel of Jesus telling us not to mix the Old Testament Law of Moses with the New Testament Law of Grace. It's not that there are not rules under the New Testament for us to obey, we are simply not to go back to the Old Testament Law as if it was binding anymore (Like circumciision, sacrificing animals, ritual washings, not eating unclean animals, and not even being allowed to look at alcoholic beverages, etc.).

The process of new wine (or fresh crushed grape juice juice) takes at least several days to go thru the complete process of fermentation. Fresh grape juice that is just crushed can be called unfermented wine because it has not went thru this entire cycle of fermentation yet whereby alcohol is produced.

How To Make Wine In Just One Week

Yes, true 100% unfermented wine would be Welch's Grape Juice because Dr Welch boiled the juice so as to hault or stop the fermentation process. But it is still not incorrect to say that fresh new juice that has not went thru the entire process of fermentation is unfermented wine because it has not fully fermented yet.

In other words, nobody was going to get drunk off of grape juice that was freshly squeezed from grapes. It takes a few days for it to fully ferment.

In fact, the new wine that goes into new wine skins is NOT GRAPE JUICE THAT HAS FULLY FORMENTED yet. Alcohol or fully formented wine is not going to stretch old wine skins (that have already been stretched by the process of fermentation). This is proof in the Bible that wine can be either fully fermented wine and or new wine that has not went thru the entire process of fermentation yet. So this new wine can be called unfermented wine (even though the juice mixed with the yeast on the skin is naturally fermenting).

Isa 65:1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
Isa 65:2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
Isa 65:3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
Isa 65:4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
Isa 65:5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
Isa 65:6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,
Isa 65:7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.
Isa 65:8 Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
Isa 65:9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

Verse 1 - Salvation to the Gentiles.
Verses 2-5 - God offered grace to the wicked rebellious Jews but they were too good for God.
Verse 6-7 - God's going to make them pay for their iniquities.
Verse 8 - God squeezed the new wine (His Spirit filled servants) out of the cluster (National Israel). The blessing of the new wine is the New Testament.
Verse 9 - The first coming of Christ.

You're looking at the first coming of Christ, the destruction of National Israel, the giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the giving of the New Testament.

Welch's Grape Juice is not unfermented wine. It is grape juice.

Dr. Welch invented this process in 1869 or thereabouts. The fact that Dr. Welch initially called the product unfermented wine in his advertisements proves nothing. He later changed the name to grape juice, incidentally.

Did he change it because it was not correct to say such a thing? Tell me, why would he publish such a thing if it was not correct to say? Did people complain to him about it? I doubt it. Why is wine defined as either fermented or unfermented wine as the third definition at Dictionary.com? Is Dictionary.com lying, too?

Also, Dr Welch was not the inventor of learning how to make and preserve grape juice, either. Many historical documents have reported the making and preservation of grape juice (i.e. unfermented wine).

In fact, the origin of the word "wine" has nothing to do with it being exclusively alcoholic. It essentially comes from the root meaning of "vine."
