No u cant kathe. If that was there then a lot things can be taken literally. It never says that God doesnt want women to preach. When paul said its better if a Man preach in the church or be the pastor because paganism used gals as objects of worship. The way to give worship to the pagan gods were to have sex with the temple prostitutes. So if a women was the pastor of the church she would get discriminated and no one would listen to her. So God wanted a male leader rather than a female. The Bible never says Women should not preach.

1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1Co 14:36
What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
1Co 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
1Co 14:38
But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant

i wish people would enable there profile chat message thingy - its so annoying

u sent me the link on mine nd now i cant reply to ur profile directly - annoying pft!

lol

i will quote the first paragraph- i dont really fancy reading the whole thing, and so i didnt - i got kinda boared tbh.

quote:
Question: "Women pastors / preachers? What does the Bible say about women in ministry?"

Answer:
There is perhaps no more hotly debated issue in the church today than the issue of women serving as pastors/preachers. As a result, it is very important to not see this issue as men versus women. There are women who believe women should not serve as pastors and that the Bible places restrictions on the ministry of women, and there are men who believe women can serve as preachers and that there are no restrictions on women in ministry. This is not an issue of chauvinism or discrimination. It is an issue of biblical interpretation.

okay the writing in bold is all u need - its is an issue of biblical interpratation.
i belive that is wrong. that part of the bible is ment to be taken literally if not, it would NOT be written so directly, so simpley and so 'to the point' . it os quite obvious imo that it is ment to be taken literally

eh...if someone can't tell you what to do or believe, then you can't do it to them either. End of discussion. Sorry, it's not ''you can't tell me what to believe or do, but I can tell you those things'' it just doesn't work like that. Maybe someone drilled things into another and that's what they believe...well fine, okay let it be. You can't change their view, beliefs, or mind. No matter who it is or what they believe. Just pray and let God deal with people. No need for disrespect on here either. Sooooo lets all take a chill pill! ALL that includes EVERYONE, even myself....although I'm calm, still....I speak to myself not just others ^_^. God bless everyone.

yeah...that's your personal thought on it....doesn't mean you're right or wrong....someone has really drilled their own beliefs into you...I understand bringing a child up right and all...but you have to let them find their way and what they believe on things....''work out your own salvation'' rings a bell there....that goes for what you believe and follow and all...anyhow, no disrespect intended, just saying...that's how things appear...maybe it's not how they are....but just...pray...and I'll pray as well....God bless.

yeah those things you believe on your own...BUT if you'd read where it has been pointed out MANY times Paul didn't say women couldn't preach, he QUESTIONED IT then you'd see the truth. Someone drilled into you that women can't preach, I know that because that's how I was brought up too...then God showed me the truth. Powerful stuff when you listen and take heed to God. Okay I'm done with the thread....more important things to do and worry about, soooo don't even worry about responding, cause I won't be reading anymore ^_^. God bless you.

Liam, I know what I"m doing and what I'm talking about. I know the truth of God's word. It's not my opinion, it's FACTS. You know, I'm done with threads all together for a while, cause everywhere I go, you go and attack me. So whatever I'm done.

I'm not following you around attacking you. Allicia is a good friend of mine and your post here worried me because you are proud and the inturpretations of litteral texts is dangerous not only to yourself but others.

You cannot pick and choose what you beleive, Gods laws are not sometimes or except and that you so quickly presume my attack was on you just shows how far in you are. I'm not saying these things to be nasty. I'm not targeting you. I'm trying to make sure that you get where you want to be, because it's not fair tgat someone who loves the lord should loose eternity because they thought their ideas and opinions were more valid than His.

You're being blind and naive and you need to pray and seek truth in the spirit.
Or don't--I've done my best to help you back onto the path. That I have tried should be enough.

Peace

we r equal in his eyes yes - but i dont know y God dosent want womnen to preach , I never question wot God has put forward, u can question him all u want.

Some parts of the bible you can take literally - this is on of them
so now you're going to pick and choose what in the Bible is to be taken literally? makes perfect sense

if you read any English language version Bible, you are reading an interpretation, not a literal Word of God...be careful in taking the work of man as the direct work of God...

Liam, I don't pick and choose what I believe. I do pray and seek God on things. You wouldn't know, you aren't me. I know what God has shown me about the truth in His word. Just because my beliefs are somewhat different from yours, doesn't mean I'm wrong. I'm not being blind or naive either. I know what I know. I don't need you to ''set me on the right path'' I'm already there. I don't need you for anything to be honest. The only One I need is God. I have Him, so I have all I need.

Garrison Thank you very much. I needed to know someone cares. Things are a little rough right now, but God is faithful, and helping me through things. I've been attacked time and time again by him. It gets so old, so fast. Hopefully from what I posted on another thread, he will read and take to heart. Maybe he will respect me, and leave me alone about things. Agree to disagree as the saying goes. Again, thank you.

God bless.
