Well, Angela, I do note Canadian Bacon from time to time. Seems like I am every hearing about an anti-Christian society -- or is that just bad press? Like preachers being persecuted for hate-speech or the like. As to Quebec, Language is a great divider. Don't most you live right across the border? I think Americans tend to think of Canadians as the same as us; you move over here and are instantly the same as us; but methinks the Canadians don't have the reciprocal attitude??? We wouldn't know how you were until you said aboot and figger.
I hate to tell you, but there is no Canadian bacon in Canada. It is totally American. Don't faint from the shock. The first time I ever heard of Canadian bacon, I was in Eugene, Oregon in grade 6, eating pizza and asking my parents why it was called that, when we did not have it in Canada.
I am 4000 km from Quebec. It would be farther if I lived in BC. And that is not even the Maritimes. Sadly, we do think more and more like Americans, except we believe in universal health care and gun control. We are dominated by American media, so one day, it will seem like you don't even have an accent!
And we don't say aboot. I don't know where that myth comes from, eh?
