For a while now, I have been seeing a pattern at work.

I get some headway at work, get something done that people there have been waiting forever for- use my skills of stubborness and impatience. Person A wants to go to into a bowling league? BAM! Getter done! Internet not working in house? BAM! Getter done!! Printer in the house has been giving us trouble and irreparable for two years and I've troubleshooted? Got the OK today, and purchased a new one for the house tonight. BAM! Getter done! Not bad for being at the house for 1 month now with no manager.

Anyways the pattern- I get so pumped!! when things are working, fixed or getting done. I sense of satisfaction comes over me and I am glad that others are effected. I tend to be so enthusiastic, that something always seems to go haywire, and I am like, NO, it will not effect how pumped I am about this! It just happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. A wrench or a delay or something that would try to reduce my enthusiasm. No! Not today. I say. No discouragement.

Sounds like me. I'm very objective oriented. Multiple people have commented that I just plain get things done. I don't know about the being pumped about it part though. If something goes haywire I either figure out how to fix it, determine it cannot be fixed or find out how to work around it.

I didn't realize that there was still segregation issues in the U.S. I thought that was long done with. I read in the news about a girl in Georgia that had her school split invitation only- 'white-prom' night/ 'black-prom' night. Anyways, I guess her friends and her got together and made a change and had the first integrated prom ever. I guess she wanted to tell the story to the new Human Rights Museum that we just built in the city, and they offered to display her prom dress and story in the museum itself. So that's nice.
Hmm... when i was in high school i was shipped away from my friends and a school nearby to a school much farther away, all because i was white. The school was mostly black. They were forcing integration. Some black kids were being shipped away from the school i attended, to go to the 'white school' where all my friends were. The 'segregation' was just geographical. Not purposeful. The 'black school' was just near a higher population of where blacks lived, and same with the 'white school'.

Got the dogs new food and water dishes today. The other had served them well but were old, had teeth marks all over them, and let's face it. Plastic is no better for dogs than it is for us (which plastic can actually be harmful). So I got them some ceramic dishes.

A long and moderately strong earthquake just struck very near to me. We get earthquakes all the time, but they're not usually so long.. and this was the first time a noticeable one struck while I was in the shower.

I have found that such a circumstance turns me into a panicky old lady. "It's the end of the world! Hide!" xD

Canadian politics in the House of Commons during Question Period is funny. Good entertainment. Claps, lots of "here here!" and banging on tables. Puffing chests, arguing, yelling, accusing. All in the most 'tactful' ways. Hahahaha.

Could be worse. Down here in the USA "politics" is a very apt word. "Poli" meaning many and "tics" meaning small blood sucking creatures.

In local news, my dad is coming down from Kentucky for a day or two. A good time should be had by all. :D

I'm sure he'll have a good time if he's leaving Kentucky.

My exposure to US politics revolves around what is written in Canadian international news, and the Daily Show. That's about it.

Well, this is sort of exciting. :) My friend's band is well known locally, had an article done in the local paper. They're going to record in Tennessee. Their electric guitarist left, and so today, I got a phone call from my friend, asking if I wanted to play electric guitar for them at an event. I definitely said yes. I'll start practicing with them on Tuesday. Hopefully this doesn't just stop at this event. I truly hope this is a door that's going to open for me.
