that has been thoroughly refuted. read the introduction of 1st Corinthians. it is written to believers, not "the whole world"

do not be willfully ignorant for the sake of disputing.

it is not what VCO meant, not what the scriptures say, and it's been carefully explained.
in one spirit,we all into one body were baptised .....in other words in one spirit we were all baptised into one body...that does not mean spirit baptism....it means we were baptised into the body of Christ.....and one cannot use that scripture to prove the thief on the cross was spirit baptised...because that baptism into Christ started after he died and was resurrected...and the scripture still says repent and be baptised unto the remission of sins and you shall receive the HS...not repent and be spirit baptised and you shall receive the HS

there are more than two words in this verse -- its "
by/with/in one spirit we all into one body were immersed/dipped/submerged"

and i suppose if one worships H[SUB]2[/SUB]O, even though it's not present in the text, one will read it the way one wants to read it.

but we don't all drink of the same H[SUB]2[/SUB]O -- yet we do drink of one Spirit, the Living Water!!
Romans 6:3

  • American Standard Version
Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Galatians 3:27
American Standard Version
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ.

Acts 19:3
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And all the men were about twelve.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But when divers(posthuman and VCO) were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

Good morning Mr NewB.

This day you shall be in paradise with Me. He gave up His spirit. The body was entombed. It was Christ's spirit & the thief's spirit that went to paradise that day.
is paradise where VCO say it is?

As to the "not yet ascended," that refers to His resurrected BODY. Touch Me not refers to His body. (I never heard of a spirit being touchable.)
And I don't know what craziness you are talking.....your whole response is babble....
Acts 1:11
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

so you are saying Christ body was walking around without the spirit?

Do you want to bet, and I am not a gambling man, but this is a sure thing:

John 3:6 (HCSB)

it does not matter who you reply to ...it is simply not true...
REFERENCE MY POST #450. I used Scripture to interpret Scripture, and most translators of the vast majority of the modern translations agreed the word should be translated hold or cling, three of my all time favorite Commentaries agreed that hold or cling was the correct translation. PLUS GOD SAID HE GAVE US THEOLOGIANS to help teach us the WORD of GOD.

Ephesians 4:11-14 (HCSB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,
[SUP]12 [/SUP] for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,
[SUP]13 [/SUP] until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, ⌊growing⌋ into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

Now do I decide to learn from those whom HE GAVE TO TEACH US, . . . or do I reject their teaching and listen to you? How many Bible College degrees do you have? ? ? . . . . Hmmmmmm . . . . . Give me a couple minutes, I am thinking this one through. . . . . . . . . . . Hmmmmmmmmmmm . . . . . YOU LOSE!!!

I told you and showed you the verses. The spirit leaves the Body upon death. The Spirit of the SAVED goes immediately to where the Altar of GOD is, and the spirit of the unSAVED goes immediately to Hades.

Why don't you believe what the bible says in the TRUE story of Lazarus and the rich man?

No, baptism is not just a symbol,
It is also an idol by some who believe in it as their savior.

And also it is not just a symbol,
for it is something for heretics to obsess on & argue about day after day.

newbirth. Is this the Correct Understanding of the way that you Believe about ones Salvation??

If water baptism is necessary, then that person is damned to hell even though he
Believed in Christ,
that He was Who He said that He Was and Did what He said that He Did

even though he
trusted in the sacrifice of Christ, "Forgiveness of ones Sins"
even though he
by FAITH received Christ and the Holy Spirit.

He would be damned to hell because he did not participate in the human ritual of “water baptism”.

He would be damned to hell because he would not be justified by faith,

BUT by faith AND the ritual of “water baptism”

Paul tells us in Romans 4:5, "But to the one who does not work,
BUT
believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness,"

and again in Romans 5:1, "therefore having been
justified by faith,
we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Could you Please Explain what you Believed about Jesus Christ
BEFORE you were "water baptized"

NewB, the Lord Jesus gave up His spirit; physical death happens when the spirit leaves the body.
Both the Lord Jesus and the thief that day went to Paradise in their spirits. The bodies were left on earth, dead. 3 days later Christ's body was raised from the dead. He ascended in the body some 40 days after that.

Actually it doesn't say "natural." "If there is a soulish body, there is also a spiritual body." Just as the first body was not made out of soul, so the spiritual body is not made out of spirit.

Baptism is what you make it out to be, If your faith is in baptism then you will fail, If you are baptised because you have faith in the work of the cross, Then it is an enjoyable experience nothing more.

No, His spirit went to paradise "this day" when He was crucified.
3 days later he was raised from the dead, indicating that his spirit re-entered his (glorified) body.
40 days later he ascended in his resurrected body.

The same body that laid in the tomb was taken back by Jesus as He showed Thomas the holes in his hand and the piercing of His side.

I have answered that twice already, but for you I will repeat it.

That statement by Jesus is correct, because HIS Spirit is part of the eternal triune GOD, who is Omnipresent everywhere except possibly Hades and Hell. HIS SPIRIT always Has been and always will be part of GOD. GOD is an eternal Spirit, and GOD THE SON DID NOT STOP BEING A SPIRIT when HE chose to indwell the fleshly body that GOD THE SPIRIT created in the womb of Mary. Therefore, He spiritually was Present with the Father after HIS FLESH died. AND thus when HE STATED that HE was talking about HIS physical resurrected Body, which meant the part of HIMSELF that was human had not yet ascended to the Father. JESUS really is both human and GOD; and His flesh is HUMAN, while HIS SPIRIT remains as part of the TRIUNE GODHEAD. The NEED for his physical body to go to heaven was to POUR OUT HIS BLOOD ON THE ALTAR FOR OUR SINS.

I know that is NOT what you want to hear or believe about JESUS CHRIST, but that most certainly is the TRUTH.

I had also stated that ALL SAVED SPIRITS OF MEN go immediately into the Presence of GOD when the flesh dies, and ALL UNSAVED SPIRITS OF MEN go immediately to HADES, where GOD is NOT, when their flesh dies. Personally I think the worst part of being in Hades or Hell for those condemned to go there, will be the fact that GOD withholds HIS presence from them.

most of those so called teachers teach contrary to the word of God and contrary to each other.....God is not the author of confusion...where is the unity?....where is the measure of Christ's fullness? You already reject God listening to the doctrine of man...notice how long it took you to think it through ...your mind is already made up...God also gave us the HS to teach us the truth...
