This thread is about things you experience in life that you find sweet, charming, endearing, etc.

Here is mine.

At Bible study I usually sit next to the lady who was my Sunday school teacher when I was 10-13. She carries this really old, highly worn out paperback Bible, and a worn out devotional.

It's neat seeing this lady I grew up with, sitting there with these two old well used books that have sustained her walk for decades with Jesus.

It's a stark contrast to me, because I have multiple Bibles, and multiple books.

When I hear my 80 year old uncle as he compliments his wife. Saying how beautiful she is as if he still cant believe his eyes even when they are both wrinkled already and remembering the first time she met her and instantly knowing that he would marry her.

Sweet, charming, endearing...

There's this little old lady at church. Her husband died a few years ago. She's almost part of our family - she comes over for Thanksgiving and Christmas, she goes out with us sometimes when we go to a restaurant as a family. Whenever I see her I give her a hug, because at her age I never know if I might not see her again, and I want to give her a hug while I can.

There's a little boy I pick up on the church bus route, Robert. Physically he's 12, mentally he's about 6. But he's more in tune with God than I am, and I say that frankly. Even the pastor has said that when God's moving in the church service, the pastor keeps an eye on little Robert, because whatever Robert is doing is a good indication of the direction God is taking.

There was an elderly couple who lived in a local nursing home. The husband was there a few years before she joined him. It was funny, because as soon as she got there, she made the staff slide their beds together. I was told that when she would be taken to the hospital due to illness, he would sit all day in his wheelchair staring out the window at the ambulance bay, waiting for her return. She passed away about two years later, and after that he went just three months later. They were married 75 years! Just thinking about them makes me smile every time I think about the life and love they must have had.

Now and then, at the mall, I'll see an elderly couple walking and holding hands.

First, is causes me to smile.

Secondly, it leaves me hoping I'll be able to experience that many years from now.

I have a serverely disabled brother, I am his full time carer. When i take him out in the community in his big electric wheel chair we get mixed reactions, most people ignore and look the other way as if he doesnt exist and thats ok.

The other day i was trying to take him across a busy major road, with multiple lanes, there was no crossings so i had to wait for ages to try and cross. I got half way thru and saw that both sides of the road cars were coming.. so i had to reverse back so they would go past. To my utter surprise.. both cars stopped at once and waited for us to go safely across the road.. now thats not surprisng but this is a major major road and cars were backing up around the corner. they did that so my brother and i would get across safely. both drivers of the cars smiled and encouraged me that it was ok.. if they waited.

by the time we had reached the other side.. i was weeping.. i couldnt believe that people would have been so kind to us..and would show so much respect for my brother.. when most ignore him as if he doesnt exist. i will carry that experience in my heart forever when ever people stare or hurt him.

Now that each and every post has me crying....I will try to plow through.....and be brave...

One of our boys....the ones who come stay with us......has been told by his mother he will be
moving away...he is ten......to one of the worse neighborhoods in the area.....
He ran to me and wrapped his arms around me and started to cry......I told him I will always
be here for him....and that I will pray for him.....he said ...mom mom I love you....
I told him he could still come to us and we will pick him up any time he calls....these boys dont
even belong to us.......but you cant tell them that.........
This is my favorite post.....even if I have to read it through tears......peace ...jo

Jo kindness and love is never forgotten. May you truly see the reflection of the Fathers love you extend to these children and may it be returned to you ten fold. God bless you sister.

It charms me for sure when a guy puts his hand on his heart with his fingers spread out and rubs it while he speaks about things he likes or loves- like food, cars, or me lol.

There's this elderly woman at church who introduces herself by full name only and if you introduce her and say, this is Rose, she'll say, I'm Rose E Smith. It's very sweet. My Step Father who is 80 does that to, he will introduce himself and everyone using their first and last names. Probably doesn't seem like a big deal but people don't seem to do that anymore.

When my Husband does something sweet with our children, like watch the football game with my son, they look so much a like that when they cheer they look exactly the same. I loveit.

Honestly and im sure many saw this coming-Kitty cats! Everytime I see one I flip out and want to hug it and pet it and love it and keep it and my heart cannot handle seeing a poor cat hurt or sick or dying or stray its just to much for me. when those commercials about the animals in the animal shelter with the sad music come on I have to leave the room or I will start bawling

I change the channel or leave the room too. Those commercials are heart wrenching. Also the commercials with kids from the third world countries or here, it's to much for me to watch.

I'm glad you're back Blaine, we missed you.
