We still can keep a supposed sabbath day if we so wish. Can call His day if one wishes too. Set aside day in the week where one can plan towards. I have and I actually look forward to it.

I do so because a naturally want to for Him not because I have to just because I can be saved. It's kinda like when unbelievers say, 'Why doesn't GOD reveal Himself today to prove He is not a fake!'. Well, if GOD did then those who did not believe will believe not because they want to it is because they have to. They will know Hell exists because to bore witness to GOD with their own two eyes. They will then become good because they will be afraid to punished by GOD. Their entire motivation will be to save their own skin. Not because it is for goodness sake or GODS sake but for their own sake.

This is what I do not agree with when it comes to keeping the sabbath day. The minds of those have been rotted by a poor denomination. Poor teaching and poor theology. In all it's entirety keep the sabbath is for ones own sake for they are fearful that they won't be saved if they didn't keep it.

I do however challenge those who do keep the sabbath to abstain for a year to prove they are not keeping the sabbath for their own sake. GOD is not going to punish no one for not keeping the sabbath or even keeping the sabbath. If it is with your heart you do so then GOD will most certainly know. If it is to save your own sake. I know for a fact GOD will say, 'You know you needn't keep the sabbath day because my Son fulfilled the Law and of the Prophets'.

Finally you are speaking like a person who can know something of God, not a person who just uses their own ideas without God.

You say that you can't be saved by you works, good for you. Then you suggest testing the Lord in this saying you are so sure of it that you will purposely work to not follow Him for a year and know God still saves you. Sounds like open rebellion to me. About as foolish as saying you are only going to agree that God has a special day in the week if God will save you for it, if God won't do that for you then you won't do that for Him. God didn't bless that day for Him, God blessed it for you. God didn't give you guidance in your life for Him, God gave you the guidance you call LAW for you.

I would be very careful in issuing a challenge like this in order to assess someone' heart in obedience. God told His people to keep the Sabbath, whether they wanted to or not. So to not keep it just to see if you really want to is foolishness I think,

This challenge could have the same application as any other sin in the Bible"
"Go without loving your neighbor this year to see if you're doing it for your own sake."
"Go without marital faithfulness this year to see if you're keeping it for your own sake."
Kill people this year to see if you're not murdering for your own sake."

And yes, I recognize many in here don't equate Sabbath disobedience as a sin, but for many who do see it as such, that is not something I would want to test God with.

GOD is not going to punish no one for not keeping the sabbath.
Really? I guess He was only joking with the children of Israel when he threatened and fulfilled destruction upon them for this very same thing.

Exodus 31:14-15 "Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death."

Exodus 35:2 "Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death."

Numbers 15:32-36 "And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses."

Nehemiah 13:15-19 "In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals. There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day? Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath."

Jeremiah 17:21-23, 27 "Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction." "But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched."

And for those who say that the LORD's Sabbath was only created for the Israelite, even in the Old Testament, it appears that the LORD disagrees with you.

Isaiah 56:2-7 "Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people."

According to many, there will be multitudes of Israelites from the Old Testament cast into the lake of fire for polluting the Sabbath of the LORD. Yet, He will save those who do the same thing of polluting the Sabbath, because they do it in the "name of Jesus Christ"?

God Bless

I didn't say either of those things.
sorry is there two ways, to look at what is called a sin.

29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!3John 1

or would jewish people that follow the full law ,no what is a sin.

would then lead to the question
when did law introduced you to god.

I ask then why you sent for me."

Yes, Jews knew what sin was prior to Jesus' time.
No, the law didn't introduce me to God.

I'm not clear on what you're trying to say here.

Groups are not unclean in and of themselves. Individuals become unclean based on their daily lives. There is a difference.

when did law introduced you to god. or take away your sin./QUOTE]
If what you want from what you call law is to take away sin, just as well save yourself from the time it would take to even read it, it was never meant for that and won't do it. It would tell you a bit about what God is like, but wouldn't serve as an introduction, either. So I guess that for you, any instruction or guidance from the Lord just isn't necessary at all, you can't find any reason God included it in scripture so ignore it.

If you are of the Hebrew race you follow the law? I don't know anyone of the Jewish race, but I met a lady on the bus once who said she was Jewish. She told me she had never been in a church or synagogue, her Dad told her not to, her Dad said he was against God.

Can we combine the Law Keeper threads into one perpetual Law Keeper thread? After the first few pages they turn into a competition of opinions among three or four people.

The law was broken the day it was given and some 3,000 people died. They day that Peter preached the cross by the power of The Holy Spirit some 3,000 people were saved. Pick one?

Howz about something from Jesus Himself concerning the Sabbath?

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

It would also do the physicians and pharmacists some good to take heed to the above passage before worrying about which day not to work.

And without further adieu, here it is. Everybody not feeding at the Ellen White Saturday trough is a "child of disobedience."

Hey, children of disobedience, lowest of the low, Satanic Sunday spawn, don't take issue: it's not "Christ-like." I see you got rid of the SDA website closing, that wouldn't admit being SDA, remnantofgod.org. I've clicked on none of your closing links, but I'll take bets there's SDA doctrine lurking there. Ya' think?

This entire thing is so disappointing. We need to find out about how to best honor the Sabbath, instead we are talking how we should not do special honor to the Sabbath, and if we can strike out at a woman long dead named Ellen White, and how SDA is, forgetting about love or even God.

I don't think that the Lord meant that our yoke would be made easier if we ignored the things God had to say about the one day in the week He made Holy for us. God blessed that day for our benefit, meaning us to have a day different from our everyday tasks and spent in love---our family, our God, our church. Christ said that if someone needed help on that day, it wasn't honoring that day or Him to not give that help, and through Christ we learn that it isn't the letter of the law we need, it is the heart and spirit of the law we need.
