Leeches??

Hi all, I have an interesting situation going on, and am wondering if any of you have had experience with this. I work with two other believers,(they go to church anyway), and there's times when it can get very stressful, especially with some of the other coworkers there. I became a believer two years ago, and I try to stay focused on Jesus, the bible, etc. all through the day, because if I don't, my mind can go into the sewer quick. I listen to Christian talk programs, music etc. I try to stay grounded in Jesus. He is where I get my comfort and strength :) I noticed awhile back that one or both of these two people will come to where I am working, and they have even admitted, that they come to my area to ......how do I say......get the good vibes from me???? They even said that they need to touch me to feel better. Today they invited me to lunch, and back at work, they admitted it again. They are relying on me and what I have, instead of relying on God and what He can give. Yesterday it was put on my heart that the three of us should start praying together before work, to pray for good positive stuff and to pray for all the unbelievers there, maybe those two will start praying more on their own through the day. It's hard enough sometimes to stay grounded myself, let alone having two people wanting to "leech" off of me. I literally felt drained today, when I usually don't.
 
That sounds very strange. Are you their idol? Kind of creepy. Maybe they have some sort of personality disorder. I really would not encourage this but set up your boundaries. They should not be bothering you at work in my opinion.
 
You have the correct solution in mind. Read the scriptures and pray with them before work is a great idea. It will soon sort them out if they are the real deal they will grow if not they will abandon you. Just be careful that if they pull way they may seek to create trouble for you as retaliation.

I do see the touching part as inappropriate but then I'm not the touchy feely type to start with. I they make you uncomfortable they must stop for the work place is not the correct environment for such things to begin with.

Praying with them sounds like a good thing! Sometimes God gives us gifts to share with other believers, we need to encourage each other as the world gets tougher....i pray God gives you strength. Yes giving out can be draining but it can also be refreshing! Please refresh her Lord and give her more to share with others, in Jesus name we ask. And the touching thing may be just that they can sense God's Spirit in you. maybe their churches are dead and dry or don't believe in the Holy Spirit's work and they need that. As someone else said, you will find out what that's about when you start to pray with them. Go with God's leading :)

​I would tell them that you'd be happy to pray for and/ or with them, but that they need to stop touching you as if you're an idol or statue. That's just inappropriate anyways. If they don't get the hint, warn them that they may suffer some broken fingers. LOL JK. :) You should definitely tell them they need to rely on GOD, for he alone can save them, whereas you are only human, and can't. :)
 
What Roger said. I think the prayer group is a great idea.You should also encourage them to listen to Christian music/talk like you do. And, as others have advised, get them to stop touching you. That's just inappropriate whether you're a touchy-feely type or not. It's just not appropriate in the workplace.

God bless you for being an encouragement. Maybe as time wears on, you can have a short Bible study on your lunch hour once a week or so.
 
Prayer is always a good thing to do.
We must remember we are called to be a light to others, and to show that Christ is in us in how we walk and act.
It is for others to see that positive side of us, and draw off of that to help them to be esteemed as well. If others look to you and your positiveness and joy, and want to draw off it. It is because the spirit of the Lord that is in you is drawing them near, and they are looking for that connection as well. It then falls on us to set up a time to bible study, talk to them about the Lord, and help them get better in their walk with the Lord.
 
Your idea to pray is good maybe you could also find a good opportunity to share the truth to them that they need Jesus and not you as you said to us, and also be truthful yourself and let them know that your not comfortable with what they do, otherwise how would they know? In essence, your telling how you feel to the wrong people :)

no I'm just joking :). Offering to pray with them is a good way to start. Sounds like u are in a unique situation to help them see the reality of Jesus in everyday living. What a great opportunity
