also, the seventeenth word in the bible is "and". it occurs between "form" and "void", so God is telling us that he has victory over the void, and will bring organization to the earth after the flood.

I also want to point out that the "mountains of Ararat" is still a mountainous region by the same name and is believed to be the same region (or place) that is associated in Noah's Story in Genesis.

"Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry” (Genesis 8:13).

This word is Strong’s #4372, mikseh, “covering.” Perhaps it added some weathering ability to the ark, but it evidently obscured the ark visually. This covering was removed on the first day following the end of the six-hundredth calendar year of Noah’s life (Genesis 8:13). Probably this represents the passage of six periods of time before the redemption in Christ is made apparent to the world during the Millennium, following six thousand years of sin and death.

Isaiah uses yet a different word for covering when referring to the same time, the unveiling of God’s redemptive purpose to the world:

Isaiah 25:7-9
"And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."

The people were dry (like the dry ground) and they needed the Living Water (i.e. Jesus Christ).

On the 27th day of the month the Earth was dried so Noah and all those onboard the Ark could exit it.

There are 27 generations from David to the Christ according to Matthew (Matthew 1:1-17).

The New Testament of the Bible of Jerusalem contains 27 books.

The book of the Acts of the Apostles in the NT uses on the whole 27 different numbers, which are numbers 1 to 12, 14, 15, 20, 40, 70, 75, 120, 200, 276, 400, 450, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 50000.

The number 500 is used 27 times in the Bible.

Among the 365 different numbers found in the Bible, 27 of them are prime numbers, counting the number one.

God was commanding Noah to go forth from the Ark and start a new life. To be fruitful and multiply and breed abundantly in the Earth. The Ark was like a womb of life, that was giving birth to new life for a new world wherein it would be fruitful and abundant. God wants to give every person a new life in Him and He then desires them to be fruitful and to multiply by making disciples of all nations.

I am not into Traditional Numerology, either. I don't look at the meaning of numbers outside the Bible and I don't use the numbers in the Bible to try and divine the future (As some wrongfully try and do).

However, numbers are not evil in and of themselves. God created them; And all things glorify God. The only reason numbers exist in the Bible is to glorify Jesus Christ and His Word. That's it. There is no other purpose for them.

In fact, Revelation 13:18 tells you to count numbers as a part of wisdom.

"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath the understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his nummber is Six hundred threescore and six."

This lines up with Ecclesiastes chapter 7 that tells us about how Solomon set his heart to seek out wisdom and the reason of things (Ecclesiastes 7:25) whereby he then says he found out the account by counting one by one (Ecclesiastes 7:26).

Ecclesiastes chapter 7 is the 666th chapter in the Bible. Revelation 13 deals with the mark of the beast (666). What are the odds that both chapters talk about the same thing and the number 666 is tied to both? Granted, chapter and verse numbers are not a part of the original text, but I don't think God would find them useless to his purposes for His people today because we (beliievers) use them all the time and find them to be very invaluable. For all a believer has to do is say "John 3:16" and most believers will know what passage they are talking about.

Yeah, I'm with you on math, and numbers can mean things, like 7 completion, but adding for some Holy meaning, I think the devil can add a lot higher then most of us, and if we listen to numbers and not Gods word we're in for trouble, I'm ok adding where He tells me ..like the number for the beast is three scores and 6, but not into adding all the words in the bible, He never said to do this, and it's something I hear muslims do a lot of adding the number of how many times this is mentioned and number of that so on.

That is all I am saying is that numbers can have a repeated meaning or purpose in the Bible that glorifies Jesus Christ. The fact the numbers in the Bible have a repeated meaning (Like the Number 7) is not a coincidence. Revelation 13:18 and Ecclesiastes 7:25, 27 tells you to count (within His Word) as a part of wisdom (Just like the Number 7). But I understand your caution or apprehension. I am very careful not to see something in a number that does not exist. For example: The Number 150 (That was mentioned already in the story of Noah) does not appear to have a particular meaning that we are aware of. I am not going to try and invent a meaning just because other numbers have revealed that they have a meaning to them. I am also strongly against looking to numbers outside the Bible, too. A Pastor that I like a lot uses Bible Numbers, but he starts to venture outside the Bible with numbers; And this I think is a very dangerous thing to do.

Granted, while I am not interested at this time in debating such said topic, this is another topic for another thread, though. I will continue to use Bible Numbers to glorify God's Word and or Jesus Christ as a part of this commentary.

No other book besides the Bible proves itself to be divinely inspired like with the numbers in the Bible. If one is aware of how the numbers are arranged even in the genealogy of Jesus Christ (In the Greek within the book of Matthew) involving the number 7, one cannot say that such a thing was written by mere men, but by God.

Here is something to keep you busy trying to explain with all the numbers and meanings and I do believe they have very significant meanings if we get obsessed with just that facet are we out of balance? Words in conjunction with numbers all understood with the mind of Christ has miraculous revelatory power for us. Back to letting the numbers keep you so busy that you get out of balance, what is the last number? I'm not even gong to begin to debate this but I will tell you it will take years to explain so Why would I enter that arena when the harvest is yet plentiful but laborers few. Many are out of order doing their own thing and not the things required of the by God. Just a thought!

All those living on the Ark left by families. In Genesis 12:3, we learn that there is a special blessing to the families of the Earth.

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Noah took a pair of 7 of every clean animal onboard the Ark. One of the reasons for this was to bring sacrifices or burnt offerings unto the Lord. 7 suggests completeness like the last day completes a week. In the New Testament, we learn in Romans 12:1 that we are to offer our bodies as a willing sacrifice unto the Lord which is our reasonable service. In other words, we are to offering ourselves to God completely. See, this is what God wanted from Noah. An offering of himself to all of what God wanted from him. A sacrifice of one's life. The animals in part being sacrificed represented that. However, more importantly the animals sacrificed would paint the picture of the ulimate sacrifice that would be made when the Son of God offered Himself so as to die for our sins.

And the Lord smelled a sweet savour;

The Lord smelled a sweet savour. In Revelation we learn of another ordour that the Lord receives. Prayer. For in Revelation 5:8 there is a golden bowl of incense that is the prayers of the saints. This incense is mentioned again in Revelation 8:3-4, and it says that the smoke of the incense (Which is the prayers of the saints) ascended before God.

Also, as mentioned above, Noah's sacrifices paralled our Messiah's sacrifice (Jesus Christ). It is possible that the text here could be viewed as a pun or a slight play on words. The Lord smelled a sweet savour (Savior). In other words, God the Father was pleased with the Son of God's sacrifice. The animal sacrifices typified this.
