Sin is never "okay".. That's why Jesus suffered and died for it.

If you accidentally wrecked your car and someone paid to have it fixed for you, it doesn't make it okay to purposely go out and wreck your car again. Green-lighting sin after learning what Christ did for us is tantamount to kicking sand in his face.

This is speaking of the spirit that has been born of God, does not sin and is eternally sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise..

If we say we have no sin (present context) then we are a liar and the truth is not in us...

Paul said when he goes to do good he finds then a law the SIN IS PRESENT WITH HIM...

The corrupt fallen body seeks to sin...the spirit born of God does not sin and the battle ground is the mind

There is not a JUST man upon the earth that doeth good and SINS NOT

ALL our RIGHTEOUSNESSES are as FILTHY rags and our INIQUITY (sins) like the wind have taken us away

DANIEL..one of three men MENTIONED BY GOD for their faithfulness preserving them CONFESSED HIS SINS IN PRAYER

DAVID born of the spirit and after them mind and heart of God SINNED numerous times and paid the price in his physical life as in CHASTISMENT....

PETER after walking on water and doing many miracles and identified as a saved child of God DENIED the LORD three times and wen and wept bitterly because of HIS SIN....

EVERYBODY should get over the fact that WE ALL SIN in some form or fashion and that is why JESUS is faithful and JUST to forgive us of our SINS when we CONFESS our SINS and make a reasonable attempt to walk right and true!

ONLY one man that never sinned JESUS...PERIOD!
mindset.....arm yourself with the same mind of Christ....

1 Peter 4:1-8King James Version (KJV)
4 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
[SUP]2 [/SUP]That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Seems to me as skinski is right, people want to justify living in sin because Jesus died for sin, smh... So wrong, like turning Gods words and letters to numbers... Tons of false doctrine going on here, it's a shame, people see the scriptures and read it with their own eyes and refuse to believe that God gave them life..and choices in that life, " to everyone here, do y'all think Jesus is a credit card to just rack up sins"? Complete nonsense, and totally wrong, I think some need to do a real soul search and see exactly what God y'all serve.. Lukewarm He will spew you from His mouth? Why would He say this!! How can we be lukewarm, if we're always saved?!?! Com'on people.. This is complete childish nonsense

It is all to glorify God psychomom, everything I do, with choice is to glorify Him, and His grace of saving me. I have a choice, I still know of people living sinful lives, I could be hanging out with pro athletes and being what the world calls (a big timer) or a (baller) I choose not to, for the glory of God, it just so happens to be righteous and be good for my life. It's a choice, people respect my choice, God gets the glory for my choices, it's not mine, but who lives in me to give the strength to do what my heart desires, to reject sin when confronted with it, I can go drink codeine or do drugs right now, " it's a firm choice I've made to turn against it, because He who gave me the power to do so". Are you'll saying this is impossible? I choose not to gamble hard earned money, I choose not to lay up in clubs and get drunk, I choose not to be partner to sin, these are all choices. I don't see how anyone from the west especially say they don't have choices, I just chose to post this message, none of this is predestined.
i know your motives are good, and please will you forgive me if i offended you?

i don't want to derail your thread and make it about predestination...when you wanted to talk about sin, if that's okay?

we certainly do make choices about sin! often, sad to say, the wrong ones.
my point is simply that the sin nature goes so much deeper than we sometimes think. :(

are we ever afraid? because we are commanded not to be.
are we ever just weary? again...commanded not to be.
are we ever reluctant to be open with one another...confess our sins to one another?
are we ever r-e-a-l-l-y loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength?
are we r-e-a-l-l-y loving each other as Jesus loves us?

all...all...all the time?

i don't want to disparage the incredible work God has done in your life. ♥

it's just that i think we need to recognize that sin goes so much deeper than external conformity.
Christianity is too often seen as a vehicle for clean living rather than the only recourse for those who fail over and over again.

if Christianity is only for the clean and the competent, Jesus is irrelevant.
we are left in this world in our weakness so we will have to rely on what God in Christ has done for us.
and amen, my brother...all the glory goes to God.

We have free will, we choose, it's a gift of choice, why would God make people love Him, real love is out of choice, it's like making your daughter be with a man in marriage, this is not love, a women should have the choice to love who she wants, as we have the choice to love God/Jesus and the commandments, or worship before the calf. Did Moses give them a choice .. Or command them to worship God? They all have a choice, as do we.
A new commandment that I give unto you...That you LOVE one another as I have loved you....Love is a spiritual gift, Love is also a commandment and love is also a choice.....

Sin is the whole problem of the Human race, or sorrows and pain all stem from sin. Which is why the Cross was given, It sets us free from sin and allows the Holy Spirit to work in us and bring us closer to what God intended us to be. Yet we get distracted by our flesh and hold to fables that binds the hand of The Holy Spirit and we fail.

The thing about problems is that every body has one and the only answer is the Cross. and sin is not okay. Sin is the problem.

I really just fail to grasp how the people who are against OSAS think that everyone who believes it must sin with abandon. I never heard it preached anywhere that you can get away with that, no person I know who believes in OSAS will say you can just sin and get away with it yet it is constantly the position of the Anti-OSAS.

MY thoughts on the subjects are just that. I never hear anyone say sin is ok with OSAS yet these things keep rearing their ugly head.
Where does it come from? You got me.
Yeah I know and so true....because if they admit the truth it will derail their works for salvation heretical doctrine.....!

that seems to me as wilfully sinning

Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

If I didn't love you guys I wouldn't commit myself to tell you guys the truth, if we really want to be right with God, it begins with walking with Jesus, what did Jesus tell the rich man, drop everything and follow me, he couldn't it was his free will that kept him from walking with Jesus, everyone is blessed with this gift of choice dcontroversal.

You can mouth all you want...doesn't change the fact that you sin daily and your blindness to this fact and refusal to accept the very truth of the word is also sin on your part.....get over yourself as there IS NOT ONE JUST MAN ON THE EARTH THAT DOES GOOD AND SINS NOT...your very refusal to accept the truth states clearly that you do not have the truth...1st John!

How hard it is for the rich man to get to Heaven, Jesus said it's easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle, then it is for a rich (sinful) man to get to heaven... ITS A CHOICE.. Period

I love you so much. I love you. I love you.. I love you. Its like im hungry and thirsty. . Dry and needing God to say something to ease me of the burden of pain and regret. Sometimes it over whelms me the ability I have to sin. Like paul knowing what is right and yet chosing wrong. Blessed be our God for the perfect redeemer in Christ. . And the spirit who leads us into all truth. I just dont want to be the worlds view of a christian. I hate admitting my weaknesses but until we acknowledge our wtetched state we cannot accept Gods amazing gift of salvation.

So you agree with free will, right? So if we did sin (daily even) it's a choice...correct? As I said a few times ... I'm not Jesus I'm not perfect, but I have the choice, to follow Jesus with all my heart, now if I slip and get angry or cuss, I repent and move to stop, train myself to slow anger, as I am doing..doesn't mean, o...well, I got angry today, I should rack up some more sins before I repent tonight... As I said in another thread, there are sinners and christians...big difference, but neither is perfect as Jesus.

i love you right back, sister. ♥

and yes,
we'll never, ever, ever appreciate our Deliverance if we don't first come to terms with our desperation.

knowing that desperate need keeps us close to our Savior.
pretty great, huh? (being kept close, i mean) ♥

How much deeper does it go?....are we not dead to sin?

Christianity is too often seen as a vehicle for clean living rather than the only recourse for those who fail over and over again.
you need to recognize we are partakers of the divine nature...
2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

if Christianity is only for the clean and the competent, Jesus is irrelevant.
we are left in this world in our weakness so we will have to rely on what God in Christ has done for us.

Christianity is to make us clean and competent

people really need to learn about God....

people really need to learn about God....
well, i guess that means you never feel fear, or worry, or doubt.
i guess that means you never grow weary of doing good, and that you always, every moment of every day,
are loving God and others with everything in you...you don't forget Him or everyone else for a millisecond.
i can't honestly place myself in that category yet.

and of course we are partakers of the Divine nature.
but we do not yet fully possess it...or maybe you do.

i have been recently humbled, so forgive me if i don't seem 'clean and competent' enough for you. :(
