So how have you changed since becoming a Christian. Some changes are more gradual than others but when you look back many are stark.

I wanted to share something here: When I first became a Christian my whole surroundings were secular - work, family and friends - even facebook friends. Basically as a Christian I was pretty much in hiding. I remember after a little while I had acquired a few Christian friends on facebook and one day one of them posted Christian content on my timeline - I was mortified but couldn't delete it because I wouldn't deny Christ. I was worried about the reaction of some of my secular friends/family. When I look back I have to laugh because now I really don't give a damn what others think, they can like my stuff or unfriend me but I won't be silenced. I didn't think I could EVER think that way. A 180 degree turn around. That is just one example, there are many, MANY more!

What has been the biggest change in you? I wonder if many of them are the same changes I have found in myself..

Let's see..My faith is stronger. I misplaced it for quite a long time and only recently discovered it again. I rarely swear anymore. I never used to swear at all until I met certain people and the f-word found it's way into my vocabulary, but I'm proud to say it's been deleted. :) Umm, I'm SLOWLY learning tolerance and (more) patience with others. Case in point: my mom. She makes me wanna bash my head into a brick wall at times!! LOL. :) However, I just keep reminding myself she's an old, stubborn mean woman who isn't gonna change. I'm learning not to judge others by their appearances, whether it's how they look or how they act. Bit by bit, I am (hopefully) becoming the person God wants me to be. :)

Amen to that! I think I've pretty much covered the same issues as you. Maybe ours are typically female sins lol

If I could say just one thing?...That would be a problem that has plagued me since I was 7 years old, Jesus has changed me to hate pornography. Yeah, the devil and my old nature tries to trick me into thinking I like it and want it but the work He has done is greater. He had done the impossible.

Julie, you start the best threads!! ♥

i have to say, for today, anyhoo...i'm growing in my understanding of Who God is,

and g-r-a-c-e.

God's Grace is so profoundly different to anything in this world,
because grace is not from this world. :)

it's totally upside down in nature and contradicts everything that makes natural sense to me.
i'm a conditional person living in a conditional world with other conditional people,
and the Gospel of Grace is wholly unconditional. no strings attached!
Grace is Jesus, Who have Himself for sinners.
Grace is indiscriminate compassion...it just gives.
it has nothing to do with merit, or deservedness.
it doesn't keep score and it never expects a return on its investment.

God meets my rebellion with His rescue--
my sin with His salvation--
my guilt with His grace--
my badness with His goodness...
over and over and over. :)

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, (!!)
even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
(Eph 2:4-7)

yeah...been reading Ephesians. :)
i could prolly think about just those verses forever...and i prolly will. ♥

Everything has changed! I am kinder, more considerate of others, I have hope for the future. And I learned alot about myself. Like i grew up, I look back at some of the things I've done and I am ashamed. I've just become so much more humble and I'm at peace. I struggle, but I am fully commited I litterally have never been so dedicated to Anyone in My Life. Praise Jesus ♡♥♥♡♥♡♥

well, Christ just made me care. I loved my loved ones, but did not really care about them, if that makes any sense. what I cared about was partying and having a " good time" . the Lord Jesus changed that when I came to him. my next door neighbor reminds me of how I used to be, and I see what a mess my life would be, if I was even still alive.

this is a subject that every single person who has ever been called
and delivered from this present evil world can contribute to,
and go on and on....a deep well, if you please!

I will share this one amazing transformation, and that is,
that Jesus has shown me how and what true TRUST is and
how powerfully it affected my life.

growing up and never have anyone to trust, can cause
unbelievable consequences in your mind and behavior towards
others and leaves one alone and afraid in just about everything,
especially when it starts in young childhood.

when our Father picks His moment to let us know that He is
real, and that He truly loves us, this shows us the many
powerful ways in which He works with/for us.
we cannot help but to begin to understand this powerful Love
accept it and begin our new journey in our new Spiritual shoes
that will inevitable lead and take us into His will and instructions
on how to walk the straight and narrow.

His Love is a true mystery, but one that fills us and gives us
all of the tools that we will ever need to conquer the
world that we live in.
one-step-at-a-time.

Many of course. I never used to be a patient, compassionate person and that has changed so much. I'm able to see people more as God sees them. When somebody is very unkind, or rude, I am better able to see things they way they may and not be so offended. I've learned in particular to lean on Him and be calm in the worst of circumstances. I'm a single mom on a low income and God is the only source I have; I don't have family who can help me, especially financially. As much as I would love to make more money, it's that confidence in Who is providing for me that I wouldn't trade for anything.

How has Jesus changed me?

Before becoming a Christian every time I talked my sentences were filled with cussing, and many inappropriate topics. Now I've taken basically all of those things out of my vocabulary. Not to say I don't occasionally slip, but I've certainly worked on it. Before I had a bit of an issue on getting angry and allowing my emotions to get the best of me and lashing out at people. He has helped me to calm that lashing out now. Jesus helped me to forgive. Forgiveness was something I struggled with for many years. I had issues with my mother that I simply could not forgive, but after I realized I was forgiven of my countless sins.. I realized, I NEEDED to forgive my mother. And I have. I am also working on not judging people based on how they look and act. I struggled mightily with this issue before, but God has helped as only He can.

Jesus changed the feeling of hopelessness I once had. I once felt like there was no way I could be pulled from the lows I was at, and like nobody could love me for the things I had said and done in life, but I was wrong. Jesus dying upon that cross for my sin has shown me exactly what LOVE is. He has shown me I am as loved as anyone, and everyone, else.

As the song goes;

"I am redeemed, bought with a price
Jesus has changed my whole life
If anybody asks you, just who I am,
tell them I am redeemed"

I Am Redeemed - Jessy Dixon.

Some great testimonies of The Holy Spirit at work in members here - I love it!
