Studies show that when more people vote democrats win... The modern view of this statistic is when people who are informed only vote, the republicans win, and when the democrats get a charismatic representative, they tend to win off of the mass cattle herd votes.


But for now on I will only interpret it as, the democrats are too stoned to vote unless they need too....

I used to smoke weed all day every day, but even back then, I would've never chosen to legalize the stuff. I wouldn't want people to become as slow and retarded as I was, but I abused it, obviously there are people who can use it in moderation but there's such a fine line between moderation and abuse. If you smoke too much you may find yourself in such a paranoid state to where you find it hard to face the world, then it's hard to lift yourself out of this place. But I'm pleased to say I'm clean now! oh Lord the anxiety, depression and paranoia ain't worth it.

My family tree has a lot of mental illness, like Schitzophrenia.
Some psychiatrist told me NOT to do weed, cause one thing about weed (That you never hear often) is that it can develop a mental illness really easy. And just in general depression, anxiety and paranoia as Daniel said.
 
Yeah see especially where the family has a history of mental illness, I feel as if there's a misconception about weed being this harmless substance because it ain't as bad as meth or cocaine for example. But weed will mess you up so bad, as it did me, I was suspicious of people around me for no good reason. I lost mind in marijuana at age 17 (fully addicted) my mind was gone, I was suffering panic attacks. It ain't this nice little hippy carefree habit... and I'm sorry for the stereotyping.

God bless anyone who suffers addiction!

I am battling my own addiction to nicotine at the moment. I appreciate your sharing of your own battle. It is better to be high on Jesus than to get dragged down by the devil. God bless you too.
 
Oh man thank you so much for sharing, though I've given up marijuana, I'm still addicted to nicotine too..
 
Old hairy legs sure would love it if this substance was legalized and that kids could start using it. He likes to get them hooked at a young age. It is a gateway drug and can lead to other drugs. Anything to blind them from the truth and destroy their mind and their life.

All this legalization. That marijuana can help you is just a cop out!

We will never know while we are here why God put this plant here. But everything can be used for good and bad. What was it that Paul said? in 1st Corinthians 6:12.

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

God provides all things. Man uses them for good and bad.

Man was not created to have addictions to substances. Be it nicotine or THC or alcohol.

Don't you know that the body is a temple for the Holy Spirit?

Look at me preaching to you. Yet I am just a hypocrite. I know what right is but yet I still do what is wrong.

It is good that we are being more liberal these days but I have to ask, is that really such a good thing?
 
I almost didn't want to even put this out there, but I don't see the act of smoking weed as a sin in it's self. I agree with Daniel up there though and still very much think it can be abused though. I think it is 100% natural plant, and God told us we could enjoy all the fruit of the earth. You don't have to "make" it, or add chemicals or anything like that, it just grows. In the way I've been lead to look at it now, I feel Romans 14:22-23 covers it as well. If you think it's a sin then it is, but I don't feel it is, so am I just wrong? I also understand that the inhalation of super heated smoke can be considered hurting the temple, but even if that is the case would eating it be better then?

Just to be super clear, this is what "I" feel the Lord has lead me to believe on this subject so far. I am not saying that my view will never change, or that any other Christian should go by what I say (of course), but I do take obedience to God very seriously and didn't just make up my own view without much thinking and prayer and going to scripture. That being said I also agree with everyone above as well. If you feel it's not good for you, then it's not good. It also really helps with the pain in my flail arm now, so I have a mental justification in my head on top of everything else that may be a bias on my part, and I've smoked every day since I was 15, so I am also not trying to pretend that the pain is the ONLY reason I smoke, Honestly I'm sure I'd be smoking anyway. I am curious what other believers will think about my position on this particular matter.

One last thing I'd like to add, the way it effects me now and at the time of my regeneration, is very much different then it did when I started smoking at a young age. My point is back then it did effect me in a much more negative way, I would get tired, lazy, uncaring. So my view is a lot more personal than what most on the outside looking in would see or think, so I'm not saying I feel it's right for everyone out there, just me personally.

Only the Lord God could ever tell you if ever sinned, it ain't down to us forum people.. If you feel it's good it's between you and and God. I'm thankful I don't smoke it anymore but that's just simply my journey, my journey ain't the same as everyone elses surely.
 
Well thank you man, and just to be clear I wasn't really asking people if I was right or wrong, just interested on there take on what I was saying. Pretty much what you just gave me. Thanks for the input thought brother, and like I said before I do agree with what you're saying completely as well. LOL, I can't lie, when I started going to God in prayer on this issue I was nervous about exactly where it would lead, which in it's self shows I was coveting it too much at that point, and to be very honest my consumption rate is in a steady decline as well, so I may very well be being lead away from it by the Spirit, but I am in no way what so ever trying to indorse smoking weed for everyone, and at the same time not trying to say it's just ok for me. I do however agree that we are each in a PERSONAL relationship with our God, and we must head Him regardless of if we what to or not. Again thanks for the input brother, and may God continue to pour His grace out on you and your family.

Of course I gotta say a prayer for you and I, that the Lord be such a prevalent presence in our lives, maybe he already was, maybe he wasn't, we say a prayer for any substance abuser who placed the drug before the Lord that he may find Gods love.
We pray for the children who grew up with parents who were addicted to something other than God, who placed emphasis on something other than the Lord, that these children be introduced to the Lord, inducted to his love.

We thank you so much for the things you gave us today.

I'm not one who has ever cared for marijuana, but I do have to note that morphine, vicodin, etc., do me no favors at all. If medical marijuana could have benefits while making me less, ''zoned,'' than these regularly prescribed drugs, I'd much prefer it. That is, assuming that the medical dose would be much less volatile than what people sell on the streets.
