Why do guys make women fall in love with them, then leave them hanging afterwards?

Please help me understand. I feel so stupid. This happened twice already. and they just happened in one year. this has been traumatic for me since i have never been in a relationship before.

Please help me understand.
 
Are they even aware that is the effect they are having on you?

Like give us a rundown of how it played out.

Please don't think I'm discounting how painful I know it can be when this happens, because I'm not, at all- I'm sorry that you've been hurt, and I know it can be confusing and frustrating.

What I want to say, though, is...this is a big reason that people need to guard their hearts. It sounds like, since you said this has happened twice in just a year, you probably gave your heart away too easily, particularly if you weren't even in a relationship with either of these guys.

If you're going to allow yourself to fall for people that often, and without even being involved with them, you're going to have to expect to get hurt. Caring about people is always something of a risk, but you can choose, to an extent, how much of a risk you're taking with people. You can't control what they do- but you can slow down, guard your heart, and get to know someone better before investing so much of yourself in them.

 
Many people tend to romanticize affairs of the heart and companionship. This makes heartbreak all the more upsetting. Don't let disappointment turn your world upside down. I agree with MissCris in guarding one's heart.
