Russian warships bearing down on Australia

I doubt they will venture into Australian waters, if they do it will be just be a few miles and nothing more. Gun Boat diplomacy is nothing new!
 
RUssians occasionaly pay the UK a visit, getting a little closer than they should sailing past the Shetland Islands. The only embarrassment this creates is that it shows up how much our defence cuts have bitten into the Royal Navy as we only have one ship and maybe a submarine on home water patrol, resulting in a good day before we get that ship so far north to escort the Russians!

Russia is probably "testing the water" to see how far they can go. They are doing the same thing here testing our airspace & international waters.

I believe some time ago the USA was trying to secure a military pact with Australia and don't know the outcome of it.

Russia would be "stupid" to go overboard with the testing because it will have to deal with the UK & USA militarily.
