There has been multiple reports that have talked about how the Ferguson police force has been known for their brutality even before the Brown killing. When you have a history of the police force using brutality against the community, then it becomes a well known fact the community would have no respect for them.

Like I said before, Browns actions were wrong but they did not deserve death....

I agree (in retrospect) but neither of us were in that cop's shoes that day............would our perspectives change if it was us and not him? Honestly can't say..........but it is worthy of thought...........

We are all (the entire Nation) Monday morning quarterbacking here, and - to some degree - that's ok, but there was a whole lot of rushing to condemnation by some.......and that is fact, not conjecture/speculation.

No doubt the whole thing was a tragedy, and most probably COULD have been avoided, but, as I see it, there was blame on both sides of this........
 
Ageofknowledge read your post#33 and then tell me again your opinion is not race oriented. I don't fault you for your position I just say openly it is not my experience. My experiences don't come from statistics they come from real life. I have been up against cars mistaken as someone else. I have had guns drawn on me for looking like a perpetrator of a crime. But my background had nothing to do with that right?Wrong I was just black and looked like someone and my life was in danger and it is so now. My sons will have it worse unless we address it. I'm college educated on my way home from work or the store and the police swoop in with guns drawn if I had scratched or sneezed I may have been shot .. All we are doing is addressing it and I'm not burning down any buildings or looting to do so

I am sorry, but any time you shoot and kill somebody rather it was warranted or not. It should affect you, especially your conscious should be affected. To say it doesn't means another's life means nothing to you.

He willingly stated his remorse..........the clear conscious was referring to his decision to shoot........was it necessary, and in his mind it was..........not the same thing in my opinion.........I don't think he was that callous as to completely disregard the life of Brown.........but, that's just me

Your'e right, it is about race and racist behavior, but what your failing to see, is that it is black Americans that have become the lion's share of racists in this country. From the President, to his attorney general, to average black Americans, the racist behavior is FROM blacks not TOWARD blacks.

What needs to be examined is WHY blacks have become racists. The answers are clear, but people, mostly blacks, simply can't handle the truth.

Correct he was hunting most hunters are ok with killing what they hunt.
That is what I want to say.
But in fairness and letting wisdom speak he will live with this choice forever. Killing is something you never forget ask any soldier.

Make no mistake here, I am not defending the Ferguson Police Department...............they have (at the very least) a questionable record concerning the treatment of black in their City..........

I am simply commenting on the specifics of this one case, and not the overall problems in this City, or our Nation, for that matter. Just want to be clear............. :)

I have pointed out in previous post blacks are racists and in the eyes of some for good reason. I agree with what the word of God says because our word can easily be distorted but do know this I fear for my life and the lives of my sons each day. I'm guarded and highly alerted always. I will not pull over for a police until I get to a parking lot with lots of people even then I don't feel safe. We have the feelings we have for a reason. Think About it.

Have to disagree here. I see no evidence that the cop intentionally set out that day to hunt down and kill a black person......no way I see any justification for that supposition.......... sorry ............

I can understand this, but I also know that people of other races feel exactly the same way..........and react exactly the same way..........

Read whole post that is what my flesh would love to say If I though that, I explained what I thought. But somewhere that is an accurate thought by a rogue officer black or white If you want me to be totally honest.

To me that speaks volumes, because if he cared about the life of Brown then he would have attempted to stop him instead of point the gun and shoot like he said he did. He did not even attempt to aim. He said it was not tell after he pulled the trigger he noticed he was aimed at Browns head.
To me if he was so distraught that he could not even aim the gun properly, and did not notice that Browns head was the target of the shot. How did he recognize all the details he gave in how Brown was positioned before he shot ?

If he didn't know his head was in the cross hairs until after he pulled the trigger, how can he be taken literally in knowing the position of Browns hands ?

Maybe I misunderstood, but that's what I read.......and I did read it all.......it was a short comment..... :)

Yes, somewhere in this country that is probably very true.......somewhere, but I don't see that motivation here........just saying
 
Perspective: My heritage is German, Irish, Jew, Cherokee, African American..........My skin color would be classified as "white" by any that saw me. The Government, however, classifies me as "Other." (go figure)

Law Fact: In Alabama, the race of a child is determined by the race of the mother without regard for the skin color of the child. Meaning that a child who has a "white" mother and a "black" father, regardless of how dark their skin color is, they are legally "white" in Alabama. Prime example of this is the actress Haley Berry. Born in Alabama to a "white" mother. According to the State of Alabama, Haley Berry is "white." Now, she would disagree, and has, but legally that is how it is.

Considerations: Grew up in North Central Alabama during the late Fifties to the late Sixties. In school, and other places, the blacks hated me because (in their eyes) I was "white." Now, I could understand that, given all that was happening at the time with the Civil Rights movement, so it didn't bother me other than being hated for the color of my skin.

In school, and other places, the whites hated me because I wasn't "white enough" (in their eyes), too much "other" there for their liking. Now, in truth, this bothered me more than being hated by blacks because at least the blacks could SEE a difference..........The whites, on the other hand, only knew of my heritage, and didn't care that (for the most part) I looked just like them. To me, this made no sense whatsoever.........But such was the way I grew up.

It may be true that "no man is an island," but when both blacks and whites hate you, racism becomes very personal in a very real way, very quickly.................. :) just saying..........

Just making observations as a blackman first and foremost then as a Christian I live the complex life many read about simply because of my skin. Serving my country, raising my family, loving the Lord, all have to be incorporated in my day to day life and it is hard being that man. Yet I am thriving as Christ thrives in me. I am not blind to all the social ills or facts. I try not to let them overtake my life and that balancing act is difficult at times by the actions of others not necessarily my own.

So you do get it in ways that many and most don't. My heritage is white Black Indian and I'm lighter than most tanner than others but black to all or other! Here in NC other is still black or less than white. I survive because I know I am a Christian but make no mistake race is an issue there too!
