What about people who don't identify as a gender at all? Shouldn't they have their own non-gender sports team?
 
Male or female? I think I'll have a "male day" today;):p. No make up, no heels, same outfit as yesterday and the day before that and etc, being able to operate my car correctly, gonna get me a well paid job and no girly accent no matter whatnot lol...:otee-hee...
 
I had to play mother and father for my daughter Melisa it was not fun....35 years of making all the decisions. I am so glad I just got married and added a real male to take over the roll I didn't want to play at all. I am glad to just be a female again....Thank You God.... for my new husband. I love being a female.

It's strange these male/female decisions are on a day by day basis. I mean what's to stop them from popping up hourly...like ''oops, yikes!, what's all these guys doing in this shower? Where am I? Who am I, who was I before recess?"
 
Aside from the obvious weirdness, you'd end up with all kinds of dishonest nonsense.

Do you realize that after a while, after several schools are doing it, ALL the girls' sports teams would HAVE to draft male players (pretending to "identify" as female on paper) just so they could compete with the other girls' teams?

If they want to be competitive, eventually all the girls teams would be nothing but big strong guys, with a couple of girls that are equally masculine.

This might sound silly, but consider transposing this philosophy onto the college sports arena, where they take sports VERY seriously... it's a huge source of revenue.
Colleges will absolutely do whatever is necessary to make money.
If colleges allowed students to play on either team based on nothing more than gender "identity", all the girls' teams would quickly fill up with men, just to stay competitive, and just to make money.

Imagine sports scholarships.
"Well Johnny, our male teams are all full, but we could really use you on the girls' soccer team. Just sign this affidavit about your gender identity, and you're good to go. It's purely a formality. Full ride if you'll do it. What do you say? Worried about your girlfriend? You can still keep your girlfriend. Just say the woman inside you is a lesbian... it's not a joke anymore."

Unfortunately this isn't as silly as it sounds.
When money enters the picture, people will do absolutely anything.
Colleges are already a pretty dirty business.

He, she or it, will be wearing a "bull eye target." Noticed how quickly Collins & Sam are both quitting or leaving their profession (NBA,NFL).
 
Sam sucked on a pro level. Lots of college players can't cut it in the NFL. It has nothing to do with him being gay though.
 
Female students have been allowed to play on the men's team at the college for several years already, using the already available unisex bathroom and changing rooms. There was, apparently, no big issue with that. I don't see why there is now an issue with the cross-gender dynamics of the changing situation, other than opposition to transgenderism itself from uninformed demographics.

However, as far as the competitive financial side of sports goes, Maxwell makes good points. I do believe, however, Maxwell, that transgender identification would require genuine medical diagnosis and documentation.
