Disclaimer if you question in your belief in God, like I once did, you might want to read this thread on a later date...
As it is commonly said, this thread is not for people who are still drinking milk.

What is the biggest single proof that God does not exist?
Not a collection of proofs like saying: evolution, science, math, knowledge.
But answer in a single category such as: the fossil Lucy, The quark, String Theory, I think therefor I am.

Thank you :)

Uh oh...this isn't going to turn into another 'Science Disproves Evolution' thread, is it? That went on for awhile before I had left (and after, it seems) with no winners.

BTW: Hi T_Laurich. :)
Hey bud, I remember you when you had a LOT more posts :P Welcome back

I am simply trying to see why they believe that there is not a God so I can study it an prepare myself against them... (AND maybe start a debate or two..)

But it seems I am using the wrong bate today... not a single bite :p

Thanks! It's good to see you on here. Honestly, it's good to see you being proactive in apologetics, too. :) Maybe "baiting" non-believers is not the best approach though, haha. :p

One thing that worked well for me in learning about what the atheistic community champions in terms of their worldview was to watch debates between notable Atheists and theologians, deists, or Christian apologists. A YouTube search for any of the vanguards of either side of the debate with the keyword phrase "debate" or "v.s so-and-so" will get you some interesting exchanges (I am still hoping for a Ravi Zacharias v.s Dawkins exchange).

Good luck! If you do net any of the attention you're seeking here, I'd be interested to see what people have to say here as well. :)

I truly LOL'd on that second sentence.

My favorite person to watch is Kent Hovind... I am not sure if his son is saved or acting... But God knows :). I do have to admit his son does have good points...

But man Kent Hovind could defeat anyone because of God :)

I have never watched Ravi Zacharias... But I will now.

Number one reason most people say there is no God? It's because there is no actual proof. Everything Christians believe is based of the faith they have. Even the Bible is based on the faith that believers think it's the word of God.

But having no proof does not mean it is wrong... If you have "no proof" you cannot say you are wrong. In the sense of the word you are talking about, you cannot believe in the atom. For, the theory of the atom was created thousands of years before we ever saw one... There was no proof for this atom. Yet is was still correct...

But even more than that, when you say there is no proof that God is God, I wonder have you ever studied bible prophecy?

I'm just saying what atheists use as their argument. Don't drag me into this nonsense.

Well as a person that don't belive in a god, I'd like to answer what I think most atheists think.

I actually don't claim that a god doesn't exist, I simply claim I have not seen any proof good enough for my standards to convince me otherwise. I think this is true for most atheists. They will not say that they have definate PROOF that your god doesn't exist, they just find your religion as unconvincing as the thousands of other religions. If I may turn the question around and change it into "What is the biggest single proof that Thor, Aphrodite and Hades does not exist?" then I think you will answer in a similar fashion. You won't have any real proof that these ancient gods aren't real, you just never got convinced they were real to begin with.

I mean, even though I don't believe in any god and you believe in one god, we probably will agree on the 99.9% of all other gods people once, or still, believe in. That they probably don't exist. We atheists simply went one god further.

Mabey not the answer you hoped to get, but I think it will be the most common answer you will get from atheists.

I have proof that those gods are not real....

We went upon the mt. Olympis and found no gods, we went outside the earth and found no man holding it up.... TESTABLE EVIDENCE THE GREEK GODS ARE FAKE!!!!

I do not believe the greek gods are fake because I want to.... I have evidence!

The one god further argument is a logical fallacy, for instance. Lets say we are driving in a car. And we pass 10 blue houses in a row... Without seeing the next house what color is it? If you say blue you are a moron. You sir for using that argument, if the shoe fits... Sorry for the harsh words...

You are using a method that does the following: You do not have to test the Bible and see if God is real, you get to test gods you know are fake and then go, well He is fake too...
Lets say you are supposed to find a murderer, You go into a street with 20 houses, You see blood on a door and decide not to knock on that door, but you knock on the other 19, there was no murderer... You now simply go one door further and conclude that there is no murderer....

This is what you are doing... In any other aspect of life you would be considered willfully ignorant, but because it's God now it's a good argument?

Sorry if I made you upset man, and I think you might have misunderstood what I was trying to say.

I would never claim that any god is fake, and I don't have any proof that your god or any other god isn't real. So to answer your first question, I don't have any proof that God does not exist.

I'm just trying to explain that ateists don't believe in God, because we find that we have not come across a good enough proof of his existence. We are not athiests because we have actual proof that he doesn't exist. See the difference?

Now you do most certainly not have any proof that ancient gods never existed, you just never got convinced they did in the first place. Now you did however get convinced that God is real, which I did not. That is the difference.

I do have proof they do not exist... They claim a man holds up the earth on his shoulders... We went into space, no man...
They claim Apollos drags the sun across the sky... We find out no Apollos and the earth orbits the sun...

I just disproved the Greek gods... I have proof they are not real...
I can disprove any god besides one... Yeshua, ask of a god, and I will disprove it for you. :)

Your argument is null and void, if something is false, it can be disproved, only the truth cannot...

That is just like me taking the claim that God is omnipresent (everywhere at the same time) then looking around in my room without seeing anyone else, and say, "well I just disproved God." And then you will most likely claim that he just can't be seen, and so would believers of Apollo.

There are such things which are unfalsifiable, meaning you neither can prove, nor disprove it. What we have seen so far, gods fall into this category.

But sure, if you think you are up for the test, give me indefinite proof that the flying spaghetti monster doesn't exist.

Really because the Greek texts tell us that they are not invisible... not the least bit....And they are not inter-dimensional.... Hmmm you just lied to prove a point, not a great way to argue man...

You are trying to weasel out of trying to disprove my God because you will come to the conclusion that He exists...

getting angry and insulting isn't the best way to discuss things with people. you may want to rethink this endeavor. besides if you can prove other gods don't exist and never have, then i think the burden of proof would be on you T to show what makes God exist to the contrary.

I just used them as examples, I wasn't aware they were described as visible.

Whatever I say I won't be able to disprove God, or the flying spaghetti monster for that matter, and I have not claimed that I can. It is you who have an absolute claim here, so therefor it's you who need to put forth proof inorder to justify the claim.

Why are we talking about burden of proof... read to OP burden of proof is not on me LOL
Burden of Proof: the obligation to prove one's assertion.

If you say that no god's can be falsefied and I prove they can be, burden of proof is not on me... I made no assertion. :)

The burden of proof cliche' is used out of context 90% of the time.

I did prove, you said no gods can be disproved, and I scientifically disproved the Greek gods...
Thus showing your claim to be false.

To both T Laurich and JakeMang.

If you want to try and prove something, prove love itself.
I'm sure both of you believe in it, but it is not something you can see, or even prove exists... right?
