brother, when i was a teen, my 'friends' and i did the same thing blasting Mozart. no lie.

it wasn't the music, it was the sin in our heart.

Also, I did listen to "christian" heavy metal music when I was in the world. When I was around my friends, with the drugs and the lies, I would listen to it and it would not bother me, or them. But would I ever listen to melodic praise? Nope. Because that bothered me. That alone should tell people something. Yet if we want to get real about, which is what I am about, people who listen to "christian metal" have no spiritual discernment. They can try to justify all they want about it being ok, but it never will be. Strong meat is for those who by practice have learned to discern good from evil.

But this is the normal way of thinking when we dont agree with something. I don't like it so I condemn anyone who does.

Melodic music can also be satanic. I could list a whole lot of them. Yes it was sin in the heart, but sin is attracted to certain things. Heavy metal music is one of them.

That don't make it right, does it? Why condemn someone for listening to a certain genre of music, based simply on the fact that YOU don't like it? That's a pretty pathetic excuse to condemn someone, IMO.. What if I condemned YOU for eating bacon, for example? You'd quote me scripture that proves it's ok even if I gave you proof it wasn't.. I think it's the content of the LYRICS that make a song good or bad, NOT the beat or rhythm of it.

this cuts both ways -- it's just as wrong to say the foolishness of FF5 is gospel music as it is to say the spiritual praise of HB is wickedness.

No no no I was agreeing with you lol

I am saying that that type of thinking has become the norm. We immediately judge someone for a certain thing that we might not like even if it is for example heavy metal with a Christian doctrine just because we don't like the music.

Like you said God is the judge not us.

I don't really have an opinion about Christian metal,
but I sorta want to PRETEND like I do,
because everyone seems so upset about it,
and...
it's kinda making me laugh.

Honestly, I really have no idea what Christian Metal is...

There's really no need to bash any heavy metal. Anything that approximates the sounds of a garbage truck breaking down already has an inherent bashing quality about it.

(Never knew there was Christian metal. Just goes to prove Jesus saves us from much.)
