Sheep were in the field year round according to the sources we have available (b. Beitzah 40a).

I don't see where any of those wiki links support what you've previously said.
Not the Sheppard's... :)

Google each god followed by "sacrifice or worship"....

Matthew 11: 29,30: Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

If things are not easy and light, if you are striving and struggling, if you are heavy hearted, go to the Lord Jesus and find rest in Him alone.

Notice that we take YOKE? That is not a laissez-faire attitude. Yes, Christ's way is easy and the burden is light when we realize that all the afflictions we suffer are for our good and prepare us for eternal life...

Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Act 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Here is why the burden is light and easy, nothing can separate us from Christ.

24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat:
this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying,
This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

1 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.
For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

1 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV)
Therefore let us (keep the feast), not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness;
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Acts 12:3 (KJV)
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also.
(Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Acts 20:6 (KJV)
And we sailed away from Philippi after (the days of unleavened bread),
and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

we are told to keep the feast day, first day of unleavened bread once a year.

Which is what I have said all along, we are to do it out of love and not for self.
The thing is though that people need to understand is that you are not sealed by the Holy Spirit if you continue to walk in willful sin. Willful sin keeps you enmity to God and a slave to it, you have to turn from being a slave of those sins to being a follower of the Lord. This is where repentance comes into play, your change of mind toward the sins you walked in leading you to want to turn away from them for the godly sorrow you feel for them separating you from God.
Sin keeps you separated from God, grace we are under is not a free license to sin as Paul warns believers for the dangers it poses to believers.

so lets say it this way.

I have to work very hard to not do willfull sin (even though ALL sin is willfull, why people want to excuse their sin is way beyond me) to earn eternal life.

in ogther words, I am doing it to EARN salvation.

which is what I have said from the beginning.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

It does not say the one who prayers a prayer and accepts me will be saved....
No, the one who endures... Will be saved.

Parallels...
Matthew 10:22
You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Luke 21:19
Stand firm, and you will win life.

Romans 2:7
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

Hebrews 10:36
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

so see, You have just proved you need all the brownie points you can get, or you might not make it to heaven.

Thanks for proving my point for me.

Our Lord Jesus said that !!!

Matthew 10:22, 24:13, Mark 13:13

Then the apostles in the epistles stated the same;

Romans 11:22, 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, 1 Timothy 4:16, 2 Timothy 4:2-8, Hebrews 3:12-14, 6:4-6, 10:36, 12:1-3, 2 Peter 2:20-22, and James 1:12 just to name a few....

you better start working hard then, to make sure you get all those points to make it to heaven.

God is watching you, you better not mess up!

There is NO instance of the N.T. church keeping xmas or Ishtar, they kept the Feast Days. In fact, Polycarp, the disciple of John, was arguing the Passover and Anicetus. This is from the apostate GCI who even admit as much...

"The controversy involved three events: the controversy between Polycarp, the bishop of Smyrna, and Anicetus, the bishop of Rome, that occurred around a.d. 155; the more heated controversy between Polycrates, the bishop of Ephesus, and Victor, the bishop of Rome, that broke out around 195; and the decree of Constantine following the Nicene Council in 325.

Scholars disagree about the controversy's details. They do agree that its arguments revolved around whether the primary Christian spring festival should happen on Nisan 14 (the Passover day) or annually on a Sunday.

Eusebius is our primary source for the controversy between Polycarp and Anicetus. Polycarp knew the apostle John and was of such stature that many considered him John's spiritual, though not apostolic, successor in Asia Minor. Polycarp believed that Nisan 14 was the correct time for the spring festival, but Anicetus, bishop of Rome, favored Sunday."

so see, You have just proved you need all the brownie points you can get, or you might not make it to heaven.

Thanks for proving my point for me.
No, I have not proved that... I have only stated what the bible says... The one who trusts in Yeshua and keeps his commandments till the end will be saved... PERIOD!

No brownie points, all my deeds are of filthy rags

Isaiah 64:6
For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

so lets say it this way.

I have to work very hard to not do willfull sin (even though ALL sin is willfull, why people want to excuse their sin is way beyond me) to earn eternal life.

You still don't understand the context of willful sin by the bible, even though I and others have explained it to you many times. I will state it again for you;

Do you repent and ask forgiveness of your sin/sins we you commit them ?
( This is forgiven sin the bible speaks of, that is needed for salvation. )

Do you not repent or ask forgiveness of your sin, and keep committing it ?
( This is willful sin the bible speaks of, and warns believers not to stay in or return to. )

Repenting and asking forgiveness of your sins is not trying to earn salvation, it is obeying what the Lord said to do out of your love for Him. Lord Jesus says you do not have salvation if you don't repent of your sins, and don't forgive others of theirs as well.

Uhm...what about those links? What are you trying to say?

JimmieD told you that the Easter holiday is in fact the jewish passover. Perhaps the word "easter" bothers you and makes you associate Christ's resurrection with a pagan holiday (Ishtar). If this is the case, if you have a problem with semantics, let's take a look at non-english and non-german Christians (because, as you may have imagined, it is not only the Americans that celebrate Easter). So, I will give you a list of countries in which language the word "easter" is a derivation from the hebrew "pesach" (passage):

Spain: Pascua
Portugal: Pascoa
France: Paques
Italian: Pasqua
Greece: Pascha
Romanian: Pasti
Russian: Paskha

I'm sorry, but only a complete ignorant could say that the easter is rooted in paganism and not in the jewish passover.

The early christians used to get baptized on the night of resurrection because they associated baptism with the death, the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ ("passover" from sin and death to life). The slavonic countries (Croatia, Serbia) use the word resurrection to designate the easter (Croatia: Uskrs; Serbia: Vaskrs) and Bulgaria uses Velikden (Great Night) for "easter".

The panic that christmas and easter are pagan holidays resembles with the panic of the Pharisees (eternal panic of the mediocrity) in front of the freedom in the Spirit of Jesus of Nazareth. Nothing new under the sun.

I noticed that your exegesis lacked a single scripture.

I have a question for you, why do you deny what Jesus said ?

This is not meant to sound rude, but it just baffles me how Jesus words that are very important for us is denied, twisted, or claimed not needed.

The enduring to the end has nothing to do with working to earning salvation by keeping mosaic laws that people mistake for the moral laws of God. It has to do with not letting a trial, tribulation, deception, of false teacher lead you away from God by returning to a slave of sin. You remain in Christ if you continue to serve the will of God in your life ( Hebrews 3 ).

T_Laurich, you have been blessed by the Almighty to know and understand a bit of how satan has deceived the whole world. All the truth in the universe profits no one unless they walk in those truths, and that way is narrow, many will come against you. Stay strong brother, and remember that love is the best fruit of all, and that "replacement" theologists think most of the Word was not written to them.

I noticed that your exegesis lacked a single scripture.

Of course you noticed that. But you never noticed that the exegesis that Easter is rooted in paganism lacks scripture (and average cultural knowledge).

Really? Then why don't you show us that God replaced His Feast Days listed in Lev 23 with Ishtar and xmas. Scriptures please.

What Ishtar? What xmas? Christians celebrate the nativity and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. What Ishtar?
