re above '... a fine line... ' ?
this is going to take time, and probably several posts at least, (not necessarily here).
where the logic of not being able to not sin for believers/followers/ ekklesia born again in Jesus came from is unknown(here),
but
it is not in the Bible. yes, obviously (as everyone has memorized), all are sinners, and whoever says they have not sinned is a liar.
the rest of Scripture seems to be forgotten.
Jesus did not say "you must be perfect" to disciples who were half-hearted , unsure of following Him, undecided (at the time), (REMEMBER later disciples who did not want to be perfect WALKED AWAY FROM JESUS saying what HE SAID was TOO HARD?)
interjection: what did God say to Cain about sin crouching at the door, and taking power over it? (and later to others?).
God told His people in the OT that "you must be holy(set apart) because I AM HOLY(SET APART)",
He did not say "try to be". nor did He give an excuse not to be, not in the old nor in the new testament= no where is there an excuse to sin in the Scriptures; but there are very very severe warnings to those who cause anyone else (especially little ones) to sin(stumble even).
like i said, this will take some time. realize that to take all of God's Word, and not part of it, is what Jesus said we must do. don't memorize , quote, or try to use one part or parts of it, to disavow other parts. Jesus' Body is not disjointed, nor is His Word.
