In a round about way I started this thread to prove a point to myself about CC.....if a thread is not full of argument, controversy, disagreement, bickering and infighting it rarely goes past a few posts and or a page or two.<----We can all agree on this right? ;)

May I add this?

Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
It is getting difficult to remember (at least for an old man) all that is posted, but in regard to my previous post...

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

One of my favorite verses John 8:58 "Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."

Then they gather stones to throw at him and he hides himself. That alone proves his divinity. In a group of people he just "hid" himself. I mean he is standing there in front of them then all the sudden he "hides". And he actually walks through the midst of them and they cant see him. Now that is some serious power there.

he made people blind from birth see.
He made people who were paralized (thus had no muscle tone in their legs) to walk.
He made leapars, so sick their skin was falling off their bodies, whole again.
he walked on water, and empowered Peter to walk on water.
he took a man dead for a few days, the wretch of decomposition must have been horrendous, and made him alive again.

yet the people rejected him for a theif..

and hung him on a cross..

These are excellent verses and I like the way Paul uses a Roman suit of armor to describe spiritual arms....one thing missing is something to cover the back as a Roman was expected to stand his ground and was to be cut down by his own brothers in arms if he turned to flee......I used these verse to give my first devotional in October 1990 to a college age fellowship and I was as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof (or a hot brick) to quote a dear friend from Australia. :)

father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Is that true love or what? it brings a tear to my eye just thinking, that is how much he loved me.. When I was one of them!

Amen, Like jesus said..

[SUP]37 [/SUP]“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! [SUP]38 [/SUP]See! Your house is left to you desolate; [SUP]39 [/SUP]for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”

A lot of people forget that he was an average, ordinary looking Jewish man and there was nothing in his looks that would set him apart--> Isaiah 53.........He blended in very well and like the bible states....it was not yet time and no way anyone could have stoned him to death as his path and destiny led to the cross of Calvary!
