That God loves you that much He died for YOU on the cross!
No greater love has any man, than he give his life for the one he loves.

Amen to this one as well.....!

For God so loved the world (cosmos) that he gave his only begotten SON.........And You know it states clearly that WHOSOEVER believes in HIM should NOT perish, but is HAVING (present tense) everlasting life.......

Can't we agree that this is The Word of The Lord? The whole of it - as was requested? For thus saith The Lord ~ right? ~

Luk 6:39 And He spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
Luk 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
Luk 6:41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Luk 6:42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
Luk 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Luk 6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Luk 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Luk 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Luk 6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

We have to agree with Him - don't we? It gets confusing for me personally to know which Scriptures we can post and which we can't.
Seriously, I mean this from my heart.
No offence, but that statement was uncalled for (the bolded) as ALL scripture is inspired and valid.......so post away....if it is in the bible and IN CONTEXT then no problem for sure!

I like this set of verses and the depth of what it teaches...couple of things overlooked...
a. These were WISE men<----came to worship Jesus
b. They seen his (STAR) in the East

So cool that a STAR announced the birth of the Son of God......

Haha!

Biblical truth...salvation is more than "warming a seat".
HAHAHA so true......

Some read Hebrews 10 like the following....Forsaking the assembling together unlike the faithful except for Easter, Christmas and Halloween parties and potluck Sundays...........

it appears you're in the military. in the military, i dare hope, you all , in your troop, do what the commander tells you to do. simple. and the results ? order. 'victory' (of sorts). finished accomplished jobs.

now, where on earth can you find 12 people today, who obey the Sovereign King, the One with the Name above all names, the Messiah, the Savior, Yahushua(Jesus). 12 people together who obey HIM willingly , joyfully, and self-sacrificially.

has everyone 'gone their own way' and everyone 'does what is right in their own eyes' ? (as it is written in Scripture).

or, to speak of earthly things even, where on earth can you find 12 people together who believe Scripture (an apparent 'secret'? to most religious folk and to all the world?) >>
We can now know that there is only one date that agrees with all the Gospel accounts. That date agrees with our modern Roman Gregorian calendar, Hebrew calendar, the modified Jewish calendar, and also the letter of Pontius Pilot, written on April 5, 30 AD.

In a round about way I started this thread to prove a point to myself about CC.....if a thread is not full of argument, controversy, disagreement, bickering and infighting it rarely goes past a few posts and or a page or two.<----We can all agree on this right?

ditto. likewise. huh? what? ---- i.e. businesses that require profit to operate cannot allow the truth to be published usually. there is too much public outcry, too much stirred up against any that confess the truth, for a business to be successful if they do. (maybe not always, but almost always)
or, like keith green, and possibly david wilkerson, and definitely watchman nee, and the lady who exposed the nuclear disaster in oklahoma (all of these passed away after publishing the truth; whether by accident/natural causes/ foul play is not necessarily known).....

Well Jeff, I was in the military (Marine Corp) and yes we all obeyed the orders given and yes the result was as described in your post.....As far as on this earth....The Lord also said at one time...I have reserved unto myself 7000 that have not bowed the knee unto Baal......There are faithful brothers and sisters in Christ who attempt to walk faithfully before the Lord.....and in a house are many vessels...some of honor and some of dishonor.....Jesus praised those who are faithful over a few things and without a doubt there is not a just man upon the earth that does good and sins not!

oh, d, your lovely thread. (you are doing a good job managing things, tho :) )

i was thinking this morning of how we tend to see Christ's birth mostly through Luke's account.
but i read John 1 and 1 John 1, and i appreciate the glimpse given there about the Word of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Jn 1:1)

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life—
(1 Jn 1:1)

just that glimpse of God's consistency...and i'm always so touched that in 1 Jn. he says
heard...seen with our eyes...looked at and touched...
it was real! the Word...the Lord Jesus in human flesh!
*happy sigh* :)

by definition "faithful brothers and sisters in Christ" obey Yhvh, just like a soldier obeys his commander. neither of them "TRIES TO" obey. they simply do obey. (remember, not "hearers" are saved, but "doers" ... "doers" .. of the Word -- after all everybody may hear, even demons and nazis and republoicns and buddhsts , but only a few DO what Jesus says to do .... )

and Jesus said "the commandments are NOT BURDENSOME" (i.e. they're not hard to do !!!!!!(and i can vouch for HIS WORD - IT IS TRUE- HIS COMMANDMENTS are not burdensome.... after decades i can say HE NEVER SAID TO DO SOMETHING I COULDN'T DO, never, no never)

likewise , the 7000 that never bent their knee to baal, THEY OBEYED.. otherwise, they bent their knee to baal like everyone else did.(like almost everyone today does)
