Pwlos: You're saved now, so that should go away. Maybe not all at once, but it will in time. believe me, I struggled for years after I got saved with issues of depression and suicidal thoughts and all that. I'll be praying.

mrssecretofyah: I noticed on another thread you posted, ''there's many gods'' no there isn't. There's false ones, but there's only one true God. Which is God the Father of Jesus Christ the Son, who died, and was raised from the dead on the third day. Be careful saying things like ''there are many gods'' and all that stuff.

Mark 12:32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is only one God: and there is none other but he.

I know you would like sympathy but all I can do is point out where it came from and where to go

Depression has 4 broad causes.
1 Guilt
2 Shame
3 Fear
4 Ingratitude

The solutions are
1 Ask God for forgiveness
2 Foregive yourself
3 Trust God
4 Praise God

YOU ARE NOT CAPABLE OF DOING ANY OF THESE THINGS in your own strength

I know you are tired and have overwhelming emotions but you need to choose to feed your soul and spirit every day with Bible truth and choose to REST in HIM:)

The Bible teaches to be positive and thats hard to do at times, When I went through the depressions year after year. I had to fight myself to think on things that made me feel good and peacful.
We are to keep our minds on things that lift us up .
I had to force myself into songs to Jesus, telling Him how sweet he is, like you would sing to your sweetheart. The more you fight to rejoice in the Lord the easier it gets. The more you celebrate Jesus the more joyfulll life becomes. We need to learn to be content with what things we have, this helps to stops depression as well.

I cant put enough imphesis on rejoicing, the bible says to recoice contenously. You might have to do it under your breathe alot, I do.
Stretch alot by stretching your muscles it eases your nervous system.
Hope and pray this helps.

Nehemiah 3.10 Let the Joy of the Lord be your strength. Joel 3.10 Let the weak say I am strong. For The joy of the Lord is our (my) strength. I use to sing this until I felt joy and strength encompass me. Force a smile on your face. Think about looking Jesus straight in the eye and smiling at Him.

Not always, there's many, many other causes for it.

I have spent a lot of time analysing depression.

I have found every cause falls into those broad categories.

If there is a category I have missed, PLEASE, I want to know. There are people I am concerned about. Tell Me.

well, there's chemical things in the brain, such as a chemical imbalance. There's things that people have been through in life, that's not their fault, they have forgiven, etc. yet the depression is there. Satan finds a foothold and he takes it. Can depression be beat? yes. Without medication? sometimes yes, sometimes no. There's also PTSD(post traumatic stress disorder). There's ADD, ADHD, Bipolar, so many things. It's not always just unforgiveness, guilt, shame, fear, or ingratitude, and things like that.

Yes the key is to let God take control, turn all things over to Him, and all. However, sometimes, it's not always those things. There's so many causes.

ADHD is linked to depression?

PTSD for instance falls into possibly all four categories. There can be an infinite number of causes but they come under those umbrellas. There may be physical things going on but physical symptoms can be an effect rather than a cause.

There was little trouble with ADHD when children were disciplined and fed natural healthy food.

Indeed ADHD is. No PTSD doesn't fall into any of those things. For example, after my aunt died suddenly, and I found her...I was very, very depressed. I didn't have anything to forgive, it wasn't my fault, there was no shame, etc. etc. It's NOT related to those things. People just don't know the answer, so they blame it as being one of those catagories. It's easier to understand and accept, it's something to just say 'okay I'll blame it on this, and it's an answer because I said so' type of things. I know a lot about this stuff myself, so I know that PTSD ISN'T part of or related to any of those other things. Maybe sometimes it is, but not always. Most of the time it's not.

I had ADHD and ate more healthy than most of my friends and with normal discipline for a christian home, and I'd still be kinda crazy sometimes... (but that was probably because I was bullied and had to get it out some way)

oh for the record, not everyone that reaches out for help or whatever, is seeking sympathy. Not always true either, ADD and ADHD is real, it has been around for many years, it was just unknown.

I do belive that depression is often caused by an attact from the enemy.

However, I know a lot of people in today's world are suffering from depression and besides Spiritual I think it can be partially in your diet.

If you put bad gas in a car it will not run right and if you put totall junk in your body it will make you feel bad.

Take omaga-3 fish oil your brain is made up of mostly omaga-3 fat and you probbably arn't getting any with all the junk food you eat.

To much sugar will also cause you to be depressed because it gives you a sudden burst of energy and then you crash so stay away from pop and fruit juices as much as possible. There are a tone of drugs in foods and the more organic you can get the better.

Whatever you do try to stay away from mind-altering drugs that you get at the pharmacy. Pharmakiea is greek for witchcraft and sorcery they have created a society dependent on drugs and these mind altering drugs cause you so loose control of your mind and be influence by the demonic relm.
I belive that we are being tricked by the illuminati( A secret organization invovled in witchcraft, who own the fideral reserve, standard oil, and many many other things). These people are planning for world takeover and are I believe poisoning people to create a weak and easy to control population. Why do you think they are trying so hard to push this health care thing. I belive that more and more people are going to get sick and need to rely on the government. I believe eventualy the only way they will help you is if you take the mark of the beast.

.....for thy merchants wre the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. Revelation 18:23

Sounds like normal grieving to me. That is natural.
There is such a thing as overanalysing; just sticking a label on something means some professional can ask for payment but has not resolved anything.

I know someone with PTSD and it is those things with her.

It is normal to have highs and lows. And to take time grieving.

I suppose when someone stays down that is a sign something is not normal.

God is in the business of healing. Healing takes time.

My concern is people who try to deal with these things in destructive ways. I am very close to someone who deals with guilt the wrong way. That has all sorts of repercussions. I look forward to more feed back. I do not think the list is complete and I am not sure I have nailed the area I call ingratitude.

No it wasn't normal at all. I've dealt with depression and everything else all my life. I finally overcame it though. Some people do need a doctor and medication, some don't. That doesn't mean it's any of those things you said. What you have said is a matter of opinion.I know facts, since I've been there, done that. :)
