:( This is an honest to God question. If all Christians have the Holy Spirit, why are there so many different denominations, teachings and so much confusion in the faith?

Don't fight.

Good question. There are many reasons but it basically amounts to Christians still being human, despite the constant work and guidance of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Also, some who call themselves Christians aren't Christians. Different denominations etc. focus on different facets of God's nature and God's kingdom, so really we can learn something from all godly denominations (Mormons, JWs, Christadelphians etc. are not Christian). The confusion comes from not trusting the Holy Spirit and putting too much emphasis on the little things and maybe not enough on the important things. There are some basic tenants of the Christian faith though, that all Christians should believe to call themselves 'Christians'.

Great question. IMO, and it's sad but it would be impossible for them all to be right that is why Messiah says;

Matt 7:13-14"Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it."

So I personally try to listen to Messiah; eliminates the possibility of being lied to.

John (Yahchanan) 14:6, "Yahshua proclaimed to him: I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father, except through Me."

Deuteronomy 18:18-19, "I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brothers, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He will tell them everything I command Him. Whoever will not
listen to My words, which He speaks in My Name, I will judge him for it"

"
listen" is word #8085 שָׁמַע shama` {shaw-mah'}

Brown-Driver-Briggs (Old Testament Hebrew-English Lexicon)
A primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with
implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively to tell, etc.)

Hebrew Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar) - 1)
to hear, listen to, obey

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israyl, Yahweh is our Father. Yahweh is One.

Ephersians 4:5-6, "One Father, one faith, one baptism; Yahweh is One and Father of all, Who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

I have an honest question, and not trying to pick but i've noticed you don't really say Jesus. You refer to Him as Messiah. Obviously I haven't read every post of yours but it's something I noticed, why is that? I mean His name is greater than any other name and all will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father.
I hate to think that you underestimate His name, that which I have no pleasure to think, please forgive me for asking.

Denomination doesn't make any difference in the Church of Christ, where Jesus is the head and christians are the body. No body member can work and live separated from the whole body.

"we're supposed to love" :) :p there also are different sorts of cats; though/ yeah. :)
"so Because One Is [The!] Sweet" :D

Tintin makes a great point in saying it's the "little things" with which might be different in the denominations. The one main point that all true Christian denominational church's is the Gospel of Christ. If the church has a "Jesus first" based teaching then it's part of the body of Christ. Once a church is outside the teaching of the Gospel of Christ it can no longer be called a True Christian church.

No worries!

I love the Saviors Name, I prefer to use Yahshua, because His name actually was something like Yahshua/Yahushua. The reason I use Messiah alot is because many are not familiar with Yahshua and Messiah is a term all can understand.

Yah = Yahweh's

Shua = Salvation

To be quite frank and to answer honestly I will say the following...

1. Not everybody who claims Christ is Christian
2. There is one Gospel not 50 and most twist the gospel message into something that has no power to save

Anyone can be in a certain denomination but that doesn't affect their salvation and their gift that is the holy spirit. Ppl make the mistake of thinking because someone is in a different denomination that they are not truly saved but this isn't always the case because many ppl who are in a different denomination are actually very close to God. I go to a baptist church mainly because it is the closest one to me and I don't agree with some of their beliefs like osas but I have met many ppl there who I can tell just by speaking with them are very strong and mature in faith and truly are close to God. I have been to several different denomination churches and encountered the same kind of ppl, granted not everyone was but still you get my point.

I myself seem to have belief in different denominations but I refuse to belong to a denomination, I am simply a Christian

Phillipians 3:20, "But our citizenship is in heaven, out from which we also eagerly wait for our Ruler, Yahshua Messiah the King"

John (Yahchanan 15:4-6, "Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot produce fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

Earlier this year I sought an answer from God on this same question, awhile later I read these passages and immediately I knew I had received my answer.

Matthew 10:34-36
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

Luke 12:51-52
51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

In Christ,
Jacob

This man says Jesus/Yahshua is his leader... or he worships satan, anybody can say anything.. Test the Spirit as scripture calls for..

1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Let there be no divisions among you. I believe it's a lack of total surrender and leaning on the arm of flesh to do the works of God.

This is because the Holy Spirit is a guide and helper, He is not a puppet master that keeps us from doing wrong like some think.
He gives us guidance, but do to our free will given by God we as humans have chosen to ignore that guidance all the time. Leading to people throwing in their own traditions, customs, and morals into the word. This is why Paul rebuked Peter in the book of Galatians, for trying to force mosaic traditions on new gentile converts that do not apply.

If the Holy Spirit completely controlled us we would not even sin any more, which we know that we still do and if we say that we don't we are a liar. (1 John)

I think it's because many claim to be lead by the Spirit but are not. As you point out there is too much division and to much difference within the faith for the Holy Spirit to be guiding everyone.

When two hydrogen atoms are combined with one oxygen atom, the result is
H[SUB]2[/SUB]O; viz: liquid water-- every time, no exceptions; regardless of who does
the combining; whether nature or man.

Since the Holy Spirit is supposedly the same Holy Spirit regardless of which
denomination one might select, then there should be just one result. Seeing as
how there are many results; I think we have grounds to suspect that maybe
this Holy Spirit thing is a hoax.

No dice. First of all, the Holy Spirit isn't a thing but the third person of the Godhead. Secondly, He's God on Earth and God living in and working through His people.

I'm just saying: either there is one Holy Spirit leading people into many
versions of the truth, or there are several Holy Spirits each leading people
into their own particular version of the truth.

So we might translate John 16:13 like this:

When He, the Spirit of truths comes, He will guide you into all the truths

Or maybe like this:

When they, the Spirits of truth come, they will guide you into all their truths

Why do you doubt the claims of God rather than the claims of men?
