I don't know but I have a funny feeling that they see these pills as just a way to add a little fuel to the fire...lol I believe like many things in health care or whatever there is an agenda by the drug companies to spread there products beyond what is healthy for the society as a whole.... Like i said, this is not some great issue to me but I known some old men who get these things and are not married and they creep around and have that crazy look in their eye. When I see those commercials, those are the people I think about.

while i don't doubt that there are guys taking such drugs for recreational purpose, you are talking about a tiny percentage when held up against the non-sex offending guys with valid reasons for these drugs.

i can't speak about the men with a "crazy look in their eye", (or the actual cause for that ; p) but depending upon the studies you read, (along with the age associated) up to 25% of men seek treatment for medically relevant sexual dysfunction at some point in their life.

that number alone is pretty compelling justification for re-evaluating the attitudes we have about the demand and access for effective medical treatment for those who choose to pursue it. and as christians, i think we should be careful to not discourage, diminish, or create bias for those individuals seeking sexual dysfunction-related treatment/products as valid options for married couples who elect to seek medical intervention.

in contrast, the actual sex offender registry represents less than a quarter percent of the US population. also, the average age of a sex offender is early to mid 30s. however, only about 5 percent of men that age are seeking medical treatment for sexual dysfunction.

i think we should be more concerned about the vast majority, who are not offenders, nor seeking treatment with nefarious intention.

I hear what your saying Gypsy...and I have not condemned the proper use of these sorts of things... But from what I have seen and know about men and the way that these things have been brought into our culture, I say its a far more negative to our society than any possible benefit.... But maybe there is some research that is not paid for by the drug companies that has been done? Again its my personal opinion from what I have seen that these things are one of the last things this society needs :)
