Living in Florida since 1979 I have been exposed to lots of swim wear...... First - there are even some one piece suits that would make some bikinis look modest..... For men or women please if you are going to wear one make sure you have a body that fits into it with ease as rolls of belly fat over the top NOT ATTRACTIVE..... If you are past the age of 35 - JUST DON'T DO IT as it is NOT ATTRACTIVE. There are some two piece suits that are quite cute on the younger generation and they are quite modestly covered. But Granny's and Grandpa's PLEASE DON'T WEAR THEM..... NOT ATTRACTIVE.....GROSS....

Being that before November 27th I was not a Granny and on November 27th I married into being a GRANNY...lol I was only wearing one piece suits to start with....Well they have those tankini suits now which are two pieces but you are covered trust me.....

People trying to put a watermelon body into a banana type swim suit again NOT ATTRACTIVE.....

So to sum up Blond way of thinking who lives close to the beaches and has probably seen it all since 1979.

With a body that will fit comfortably in a bikini Women ages 35 and under - Go for it of course I am speaking modest bikini.
Watermelon type bodies stick to one piece suit that fit.
Granny's and Grandpa's please modest up but continue to swim as -We need the exercise....lol
Men just please don't wear a man bikini EVER.

That is all.....I love living near the beach just need to wear blinders sometimes not from a lust factor but from you are grossing me out factor....Trust me......lol.......Blond out.....

Been to a movie lately, might as well be a porno. Been to walmart lately, it's a playboy in the flesh. Women want to show it. Been to church, with their hiney's hanging out and tops that barley cover the Tata's. Women want to show it, so don't give me this crap about men exploiting women, they do it willingly.
The fact you are so emotional over this and you angrily blame the woman gives me pause. You are being very prideful, hateful and self righteous about it. You cannot apply a Christan world view to those still in the world.

Or are you just following the doctrine of Swaggert again, who loved preaching that women are to blame for vile lust, yet was caught in a motel room with a prostitute and, in my opinion, has never once truly been restored and because of that really has no business being on TV or even ministering to anyone. Let alone his son Donnie, who is chalking up divorce number 3 or his grandson. You sound just like swaggert on a number of issues, but on this one, you are closest.

A professing man of God that has as much contempt as you do and attempts to make men the innocent have issues regarding these things.

Well, honestly, before marriage it could be "convenient". After marriage, after being engaged, I feel it wrong.

More than that "convenience", what´s the need of showing what a person has? Liffe style or following those fashions? (same applies for both genders)

Is this fashion really needed?

Brother S.H. - "Before marriage" ?? ... well, if a man goes for a woman JUST because of how she looks almost naked - then I wouldn't want that man, though I always had a decent body shape, if a man wanted to marry me just for how I appeared in a bikini or naked - I wouldn't go near that man. A true man of God would look for a true woman of God and wouldn't look to marry her because of her 'shape' --- Goodness, brother --- must we be that body conscious when we're single to attract the man that GOD has 'chosen' for us?

He already knows 'who' He wants us to marry - but we jump the gun and get in the flesh on this issue and take the whole 'choice' thing into our own hands & our fleshly desires and miss out on waiting for whom He wanted us to marry and that's why the divorce rate is so high .... walking in the flesh and not the Spirit as 'Christians'.

btw - your bathing beauties are still not dressed properly ... they have no bras under those things and that would have been a no-no even back then. They need those "petal" things, like Hanes calls them.

I know some Christian men that want their wives to Really Show It for their own fleshy-masculine-image to show what they've got that others don't have. That also Stinks in His nostrils.

If it's not the inner beauty of Christ in their choosing of a wife - then they'll get what He didn't want for them but they'll complain about their "wives" nonetheless and blame God for their MISERABLE LIFE. Go figure! - no pun intended.

Ha! Ha!

I did it purposely.

Double standard & double morals.

It depends on the context. Full nudity can be modest, in the right circumstances. There is something disarmingly innocent about it at times. I also think it's entirely possible that bikinis can invoke greater lust in a person than nakedness can. It just depends on the circumstance.

If a woman poses for a shot suggestively in jeans and a tube top, that is more likely to invoke lust than say, a woman posing for a nude shot, covering herself and turning from the camera with an undercurrent of naturalism rather than sexualisation. The latter, naturalistic picture, invokes little to no lust, in me at least, while the suggestive jeans-and-tube-top probably would invoke more.
[h=1]1 Timothy 2:9New International Version (NIV)[/h]9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,

If God commands women to dress modestly we must not look upon them dressed immodestly.

The occasion should dictate the outfit, be it in Iceland or Africa, New Zealand or Italy.A moral woman would not expose her body on the street, but at the beach, a bathing suit would be appropriate.

This old man with several scars from the removal of skin cancer, whether you believe bikinis are immodest or not, says "Please cover up".

I think that it was Paul that said if it causes your brother (I'll add sister) to sin, don't do it. That pretty much sums it up.

So what God had to say about modesty and moderation is irrelevant.

Okay, gotcha....thanks for clearing that up for us.

o.k. so let's just not let women go to the beach, lay out by a pool, or even learn to swim. that will solve everything right?? yes God's word is most relevant, but it must be properly applied to situations, not make blanket rules.

So sin isn't sin for everyone, and rules are different depending on who you are and where you are. Listen, I want to thank you and CRC for your help in this murky situation.

Bikinis yes they are immodest as most of them any more barely even cover what a band-aid would cover.
I would however say that one peace swimsuits are proper to wear, and ok when going to the beach.

The bible makes it clear to uncover ones nakedness, but at the same time as I have seen mentioned before there is a double standard. One for the woman to not put herself in a position by exposer, and two for the man not to blame a woman for their lack of self control.

1Co 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

the world goes further down the tubes ..why follow it ?? we dont have to go as far as the berka ? borca (is that a coffee ?)

but regard others ! dont tempt a brother or sister...1Co 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

If Jesus was in front of you would you want to be chatting to him in one..

King David slept with one of his thirty best men wives and then had Him killed are going to throw him out of the bible?. Yes if you go to a club dresses half naked and get raped in my opinion you were asking for it. Don't mean it's right and the rapist should be charge, but it don't change the fact that you were raped.

Okay you want law, If a women is in the city and man take her and her cry is heard then the man is to be stoned to death. But if she is in the filed where no man can hear her cry then nothing is to be done.
