which salvation is the verse talking about??
why does Paul specifically say with Fear and trembling??
How do we implement that scripture in our daily lives??
And to whom does that scripture apply?

Apostle Paul writes to the Church, the Body of CHRIST, even to the ones today, as there can only be 'one' body of CHRIST and it's members/body parts.

We have been redeemed from our past, of sin and death and now sanctified as HIS called people, away from carnality and the way of this world, and be parts of HIS SON, and that is our Salvation from GOD given to us as a free gift to 'enter' being from above.

Upon receiving HIS Salvation, hence forth 'work out' to keep that Salvation fit and secure in order to enter 'GOD's place of rest' in future, as HE promised through HIS Word(CHRIST) of the New Covenant. Putting to practice each day CHRIST's teachings of 'spirit and life' of the New Covenant by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT, in order day by day forsake/bury one's carnality/flesh and conform into the spirit-man, like JESUS of Nazareth their MASTER.

That is therefore the 'work out' to be done, in order to be fit during 'Tribulation' and 'Persecution'.

i hope in the name of LORD JESUS CHRIST, GOD's people be 'built up' in our prophesying and not be once again remain in carnality/flesh and be conformed to the 'pattern of this world' and be rejected by CHRIST Himself, as workers of 'lawlessness' or 'iniquity'.

the "wherefore" there in v. 12 indicates this is not a 'standalone' phrase but a conclusion reached by the preceding argument.

we need to look back at the preceding verses for the whole thought:

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

so Christ set aside His glory and humbled Himself, taking on the form of a servant among us, in order that the great glory of His grace could be shown to us.
likewise, (wherefore!) we ought also to humble ourselves, having received this hope and promise of salvation by grace. yes, there is no more condemnation for us in Christ, and the penalty has been paid, and He has put in us a spirit of adoption and glory -- but it is God working in us, not us achieving righteousness, and our righteousness is by faith, a gift, not by our own strength and goodness -- so in respect, fear and humility we should do the things that are worthy of the high place He has set us in, the same way that Christ, though worthy to be glorified above all of the world, instead of seeking His own honor made Himself lower than all.

the Lord has given us backstage passes to the kingdom of heaven -- while we were lawbreakers with no right even to step foot in the parking lot.
should we cut line, jump on the stage, and disregard all the bouncers because we've been honored?
or meekly get in the back of the line, trying not to draw any attention to ourselves, being careful not to disobey any of the rules
for fear that this awesome prize will be taken away?

this is admonishing us to be meek, to remember that the great things God has for us, and does in us, are not because we deserve honor, but because He loves us and is showing great mercy to us.

No fear that this awesome prize will be taken away.
Salvation is not lost.

But an active reverence and a singleness of purpose in response to God's grace is called for in the process of perseverance, spiritual growth and maturation in the Christian life.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which 'worketh in' you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

The Philippians obeyed...God works in those that obey Him.

Those that allow God's word to abide in them are the one's God works in:

Jn 8:37 those Jews were lost for they would not allow God's word abide within them therefore God did not work in them..."because my word hath no place in you."

Jn 15:7 those who are disciples that God does work in are the one's who allow God's word to abide in them..."If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."


God does not work in men separate and apart from His word, nor does God just randomly choose certain men to work in apart from the word while leaving others alone to be lost. That idea puts moral culpability upon God.

apply? "my beloved" (immersed in Yahshua, ekklesia only)
.........................by sheer grace implement; pray constantly, trust ABBA to accomplish all, and STAY(ABIDE)in His Word.

The bible does not teach one must be "regenerated" by the Holy Spirit apart form the word. that idea puts moral culpability upon God/Holy Spirit for those that are lost are lost NOT due to their own shortcoming but are lost because the Holy Spirit's failure to "regenerate" them.


Rom 10:17 faith comes by hearing the WORD not by some random "regeneration" done by the Holy Spirit apart from the word.

It is not possible for one to "fall away" if he was never in a position of salvation to fall from. You cannot fall from salvation if you were never in salvation as you cannot fall from a tree unless you first get up into that tree.

They did not "lose their salvation," for they were never saved in the first place.

One can hear the word for years and not receive/believe it.

Only when one is born again by the will of God, not by human decision (to believe--Jn 1:13), does one
then receive/believe it.

Regeneration (Jn 1:13) and faith (a gift--Php 1:29; 2Pe 1:1; Ac 18:27; Ro 12:3) are a direct and
single operation of the Holy Spirit, neither are of man's decision (Jn 1:13; Php 1:29; Ac 18:37).
