Is there any harm in doing the right thing for the wrong reason?

I also ask this question as an open question relatable to any scenario.
Okay, keeping up in shape is not wrong in itself, I can agree. It could be, but let's not get into it now. Let's just notice something that really pops up to me - you judged your own reason for workout as wrong. What does that tell you? Is it justified?

Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Is there any such scenario, doing the right thing for the wrong reason? That seems like a mutually exclusive concept.

In your particular circumstance, Desmond, I don't see any wrongdoing unless it's born of vanity. If you feel there's a hint of vanity in your exercising, esteem it to the Lord, instead. You'll improve your physique ─ His temple ─ for His glory, while looking better for your lady and yourself. Win-win. :)

I have little to add to ChandlerFan's and Grace-like-rain's replies.

Your situation does not look wrong to me because you are not working out for the SOLE purpose of looking good to her. It is just yet another reason to work out and look good. So I don't find any harm in it. :)

The only catch is - you need to sign up to Grace's workout plan (ask her for the link). She is the "guru" of all gym-goers in CC Singles. To not sign up is a severe violation of your CC Singles membership leading to a possible termination from this forum.

This is the cherry cordial plan, right? ;)
