Well it's also hard for your parents to know if you don't tell them. I know from first hand experiances that drugs do mess with your brain, but he knew exactly what he was doing when he killed himself, he planned it out, it wasn't like an accident or something. Yes, the other one, was a friend of mine, and his parents just went through a divorce, and that was his reasoning behind it. You can't look at suicide and say it is not selfish. Having one of your close friends commit suicide rips your heart, it damages that friendship forever. It is not something nice to leave your family and friends to cope with.
I said they can't tell their parents. Which means they don't have the ability to freely tell their parents without consequences. Can't you plan something under the influence of drugs? Yes, I can look at suicide and say its not selfish. Do you think I'm just speaking without experiencing it? When I think hard about it, all my friends who committed suicide didn't do it selfishly. I've had 11 friends commit suicide.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I still think it's selfish. You aren't going to sway my mind on it. I also really don't see why we are arguing numbers here. I don't know about you, but me personally, I don't think it's a very pleasant thing to find out that one of my friends just hung himself. I have been through the pain of it, and I'm not saying you haven't but it is a selfish act whether you want to admit it or not.

I see its useless presenting my points. heh! Oh yes I just love that last month I got a call saying my good friend hung herself. *sarcasm* When I found out why, I don't doubt that I'd do any different in her situation. In some cases it is selfish. It depends on the situation. I do believe without a shadow of a doubt that you can't lose your salvation.

*sorry, post was cut off.

But you can loose your salvation by choosing to do so.
I have heard a lot of responses to this question before and I am not sure yet myself what would happen.
To some it is selfish to take your own life, to others its just fine if you had a good enough excuse.
Its a matter of what you believe, and what you want to believe

You can't lose your salvation. People who go away from the faith probably weren't saved in the first place. Christ said he'd never leave us or forsake us and he also said if we accepted him we'd go to heaven. He did not say you'll go to heaven as long as you don't sin before you die. That would be ridiculous.

exactly: You can choose God away, but you do NOT loose your salvation simply by sinning

Whilst one could argue that objectively, suicide is a self serving act, the motives and reasoning of those who kill themselves are often far from selfish. For instance, consider the poor soul who is utterly convinced that his friends, family and society are better off without him.

You can lose your salvation, I have seen no biblical evidence of why you can't, just opinions. Telling someone that they can't lose their salvation is like giving them a license to sin. I understand that this topic has been fought for a while with great arguments on both sides, but it all comes down to what you believe. I do not plan to change any of your minds on this matter, just as I am sure you don't plan to change mine.

i just have one thing to say, there are many ppl that know the answer to wether or not u go to heaven, and they are all...gone...... id like to believe that u would go to heaven but i just dont know, and whosoever is thinking about commiting suicide, i hope u pray really hard and dont do it, i know the world is bad these days, and there are probably more than a million ways to do it, but life everlasting on the golden streets of the great God Almighty is a great prize for living through the pain and through Jesus Christ! i dont care how much pain i live with cause im doin it for Christ.

deffinatly! Jesus told us that the life of a christian is going to be HARD! He told us we would be persecuted and people would hate us because of him. It is well worth it though. Just like heaven is unimaginable to us, so is hell. We can't begin to fathom how bad hell really is.

no, it is not giving them a license to sin; its showing them the Bible. I gave you 2 verses and I'll give you more if you need them. To say you can lose your salvation is calling Christ a liar. He said if you confess with your mouth and believe with your heart, you will be saved. He didn't say as long as you don't sin. Saved:rescued; especially from the power and consequences of sin; "a saved soul"

I apologize, but I have no idea where these 2 verses are that you speak of. Could you possibly repost them?

Hebrews 13:5- he'll never leave you or forsake you
Ephesians 1:13- In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise
John 11:26-And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Salvation is a gift. If you lose salvation that means you had to earn it which you can't/didn't.

...but you can turn away from God. In my opinion, suicide is turning away from God. You basically saying I don't have faith in you God and so im taking matters into my own hands. I dont need you anymore. Im giving up on you. So long.
