I am a Baha'i. Like to know understanding of Christians on Luke 3:3-6, Isaiah 40:3-5

Thank you. I believe I will have to be more specific about what I would like to learn. Here are the verses from Luke 3

3And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;​

4As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
5Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
6And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Here is my question: what is a Christian's understanding of

1. WILDERNESS?
2. MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT?
3. How was EVERY VALLEY FILLED?
4. How was EVERY MOUNTAIN AND HILL BROUGHT LOW?
5. How were THE CROOKED MADE STRAIGHT?
6. How were THE ROUGH WAYS MADE SMOOTH?
7. How did ALL FLESH SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD at the time of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ?

#1 is easy...john the baptist preached his message in the judean and perean wilderness...

#2-6 are all related and have the same answer...when a king was coming along a road...it was the responsibility of people living in the villages along that road to make preparations...including preparing the road...smoothing it by getting rid of rocks and filling in potholes...so that the king would have a comfortable journey with a good road to travel on... these expressions are all references to this practice...exaggerated to hint at the importance of the one coming after john... though nobody literally smoothed out the roads for jesus...or at least not that we know of from history...the purpose of john's ministry was to prepare people's -hearts- for jesus in the same way that roads would have been prepared for a king...

#7 relies on a mistaken assumption...the prophecy doesn't actually say that all flesh will see the salvation of God -in the time of john and jesus-...it just says that it will happen without any timeframe being specified...

Dear weakness The reason I put in the title of the thread that I am a Baha'i is to let everyone know that I do not have any hidden agenda. Perhaps it would have been more appropriate to say that I am not a Christian(which is a lie) or simply not have mentioned that I am a Baha'i. This is a forum to discuss the Bible and I only seek to understand the two passages mentioned. I do not have any other intention but to increase my understanding of the Bible. I would sincerely like to stick to the subject at hand. I will message you some references.

I have a question. You yourself state in your profile information that you are not a Christian. How can you be "not a Christian" and proclaim Jesus to be your Lord and Savior at the same time? And how can you say that it is a lie to say that you are not a Christian and yet you yourself proclaim in your profile that in truth you are not a Christian?

It is rather doubtful that this OP is edifying to anyone. This is a Christian site that is created for the glory of God to bring the lost to the Cross of Christ Jesus and for encouragement & fellowship of the saints in God. For someone to come onto this Christ-centered network and commandeer a page with anything other than an interest in repentance and salvation is sabotage.

For brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus to even entertain on-going obscurities and dialogue about anything other than pointing someone to the Cross of Jesus Christ is not only a waste of precious time but unedifying and inconvenient to the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Plainly, no matter what your interest, you cannot be "not a Christian" and proclaim Jesus is your Lord and Savior. Are you or are you not interested in repenting of your sins and coming to the Cross of Jesus Christ for salvation?

John clearly warned people "to flee from the wrath TO COME", didn't he? He likewise mentioned that which shall ultimately be "cast into the fire" and this speaks of "the second death" (Revelation 20:11-15) or the lake of fire which is yet FUTURE. Anyhow, John truly was "NOW laying the axe unto the root of the trees" or he truly was "NOW" dealing directly with the sins of the people of his day, but this doesn't change the fact that the ultimate judgment has NOT YET TRANSPIRED.

1. Would I be correct to say then there are two "wrath"'s in your understanding?: One which started with John the Baptist and the major one which is to happen at the time of the ultimate judgment.

Folks are more willing to tolerate an open disregard for our Lords apostles along with their own particular brand of heresy spewing with far less of a hassle (or resistence) in our circles.

So in our own way it is like we openly swallow a camel but exert all of our engergies sifting out such a small thing, "the notorious gnat" even in this (and before its even known) or made manifest. Experienced or not, because who really knows? The person could actually be a future brother or sister in Christ Jesus.
