GOD loves HIS animals!

Pro 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Exo 23:4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
Exo 23:12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.

Psalm 36

Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.

I always thought it interesting that those in the bible that rebelled or were out of favor with our Lord were so many times hunters.

Man, whenever I get annoyed with my cat and treat him harshly, I feel so convicted and I go and apologise to him. Being mean spirited can also manifest itself through animals, God loves all His creation, including animals. I used to hate horses with a passion, but now i dunno what happens but they are such an amazing beast! Praise God for His mercies!

What? I can't kill the fatted calf? Luke 15:23 "And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:"

Leviticus 17:13

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

Yeah thanks man but your off context, we are not talking about its evil to kill and eat animals, its about how we treat them.

Well need to be more specific because I also know farmers that do very cruel things to cows on how they kill them, yet they still do it for food. So the way they go about it is cruel, but the reasoning is to feed people.

This thread isnt about being a vegetarian, guys. Any follower of Christ should eat meat, God tells us it is what He created. Its about being kind and treating them with compassion. I would say it is righteous to treat them with love and mercy, and not with aggression and cruelty.

He created them as well as us, and in the book of Job He tells us that everything beneath Him belongs to Him. We should keep in mind that all our pets and livestock belong to God, and He is only being kind enough to let us use them in our lives, and that we should treat them that way :p

Sorry I didn't mean to rebuke you or anything I was just saying, and I agree. I hate it when I hear reports of people working with live exports kicking, throwing and treating sheep and animals like that. There's nothing wrong with killing to eat flesh, its the respect and loving side of it that needs to be realised and fulfilled.

There is still necessary things we do and unnecessary. Farmers using plows to move cows because its easier, or KFC farms breaking the legs and beaks of chickens, or stuffing them into cages where they are literally piled on top of each other is nothing but cruel.

God told us we can hunt and eat. He never said we could cause needless harm for efficiency and better profits.

[h=1]Ecclesiastes 3:18-19[/h]18 I said in my heart, “Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals.” 19 For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity.

Whether it's for necessity or not, people know what they are doing. They also know if they get pleasure out of cruelty to animals or not. They can do what is needed without being cruel. It wouldn't surprise me if those types also are cruel to people.
